For an outsider looking at me, it would seem like it would be be "smarter" for me to quit. But i don't see my life as row of practical choices based on amount the maximum money i could get.

Past time is important to me, and i do see that feeding my vices and needs is smart thing to do. As when i do it and when i am in control, i get to be in a place that helps to regulate my emotions.

Having a hobby, an interest, past time, excitement or anything takes money and time. And when that's not spinning out of control and when i am not losing money for my rent, i would say that i am a smart bettor. If you are been entertained, which I suppose is the original reason gamble was actually initiated, then you are benefiting from it so you may not necessarily be smart to others as a bettor but you are benefiting from it and to you, that is what you consider as most important. Most persons has tied profitability to the money you make from gambling, for those who feel relieved after gambling and se it as a stress relive for them, they are getting their own profit in that manner and so it doesn't have to be the money that you get.

Yeah you can still call yourself a smart bettor , but boils down on how you are betting though if you are reckless or responsible. You gamble irresponsibly I don’t see any reason One will call him or herself smart , because you’re not doing yourself any good but harm . When you’re engaging in something you can fully control or control at all and losses is inevitable, the best thing you can do is to play defense , which is focusing more on risk management which is one of the attributes of a smart gambler.

This is the right mentality every gambler should have. Gambling should be seen as a means of entertainment. It is not wrong to expect wins but don't rely on gambling as a source of income. I gamble on small bets because I have been gambling here for a long time just for fun and to keep myself busy. The few matches I win from gambling are an added bonus for me because I gamble on small amounts of money so I don't blame myself in any way if I lose money.
