I just noticed that when I click on my merit sending section there's now an option
Is it a New update or has been existing
And if it has been existing, how come I'm just finding out?

I guess 3 not there means I don't normally give 3 merits.

I just checked and I don't personally have it. You sure that's not your browser autofilling it with previously typed values? Although in that case, you should have the "X" button on every row to remove them.

See how it wasn't done accordingly/numerically, those are previous saved history from your merit records, it is not a new forum update.

These are just cached values that you normally type into the box, it's nothing to worry about, every browser has a way they present auto saved values, yours is kinda ugly presentation but it's surely the same thing.I experience it too buh my browser uses a horizontal presentation.

From your sent merit history, you've only some 1,2 & 4 sent, so it's justifiable as to why 3 isn't auto saved.

Yes, I think it's the browser that fills up automatically, depending on the habit of sending a certain amount of Merit. mine has an option of the "X" button as you say, and it will disappear if I press the "X".

So I think it's normal and there's no problem.

I don't send out 6 merits on a go... at most I go 5. So, the behavior is not depending on the habit of sending a certain amount of merit. Who knows how those numbers were generated.

Yeah it's normal. They are just cached values on your browser I don't think there's currently an extension with this exact stuff. That display actually differs across devices and browsers too for some it could be just above the key board if you are making use of mobile.

It's like a history of your frequent sent merit numbers. If you don't want to see it no more you can just clear you browser cache on some browsers you can clear for a single site too.

That's exactly what it is.  It's been the norm for me for as long as I remember.

The x is just to clear it and it depends on your browser. Some browsers will show it while some won't, the  numbers has to be from your browser too.
You must have interacted with a similar name attribute from the same browser for it to save the value.

Test a new value  by typing alphabets into the space and send it (it will be rejected anyway) or give OP some merits, your choice. Try checking it  again after that , what you typed should be added already.

I think that's a new update because the last time I checked nothing of such came up from my end and you have to remember that the Forum works in a mysterious ways, update could come up without you knowing until a month so take it as one of those things that occurs. I don't know about the rest of you guys but what about those who are using their mobile phone(s) to operate the Forum, do they experience this or is just those using Laptops or any computer?
And the number of merit that you are frequent in giving us the number that will appear so it shouldn't be a problem or you should try giving 3 merit 😆.

Well if you're just finding out now it means you've not used this feature in a while because when asending merits those numbers appear. Maybe it's because of my browser or I've not taken much notice but it has been there for as long as I can remember. What I thought you'd have called into observation is that the zero which used to be there when you're trying to send merit is there but not relevant anymore. Either way some things don't exactly drag our attention until one small event will make us begin noticing and only then will we see the thing in a new light.

I just checked to see if it's a new update that's applicable to everyone but didn't get same experience. Mine showed number 1,2, and a little above the screen keyboard. I noticed it because I was intentional about it. I remember sending merits to a thread earlier today but didn't notice the numbers a little above my keyboard.
So I'll say what's showing in the picture you added is most likely as a result of the browser you used.

You previously sent merits in values of 1, 2 and 4, and I can not see any 3 in your sent merit history. So it's definitely the autofill feature of your browser. I use Firefox and mine is showing 1 and 2 which are the exact merit value i sent in the past few months while using this same browser.

Its like browser's memory based on user's input saved on browser's cache, that work in any browser, just different ways of showing it. Most mobile browser have that "X" for delete feature while desktop just auto suggest like dropdowns without those "X", well, maybe modern browsers implemented it as well.

I think I have noticed this too, when I’m on the desktop version or browsing from chrome whether it’s in my computer or my phone i usually get this suggestions of what merit I want to send based on the past merits that I’ve sent however, if I’m using my Mac or iPhone it doesn’t show up from my experience that have left me confused, it’s neither new update nor something special, I don’t really know where to classify that since it’s not going to show up for some people.

It was not enabled before, and now the suggestion on merit seems to be gone by now. According to research, it is powered by Gemini. I don't think this is safe to use. I believe it also tracks our activity, doesn't it?

tI believe there is a correspondence between the browser and the "name" attribute of the "input html" component.
I checked and here on bitcointalk it is called "merits", and perhaps on some other site you typed the number 6 in the same field that has the same "name attribute".
This is common with more generic fields like "zip code" and you've probably noticed that even when visiting a site for the first time to get a shipping quote, sometimes there is a pre suggested option to fill in your "zip code". That is why: the fields on both sites have the same "name atribute".

In short, the behavior is different in each browser, but there should certainly be an option on settings to remove this or then add site to some exclusion list to non sugest.

I don't have the drop down number list but the figure in the box is 0 by default and it is in a grey color means hidden too. I don't see it as a too big issue as the drop down list with given numbers is not too helpful at least I think so. If I want to send merit, I type the number, check it for avoiding mistyping and click on send.

Maybe the drop down list and given numbers are only available with users who have merit transaction history with many transactions before.

It's normal thing because when we use a browser, the activities we keep doing while we are on it are usually stored by the browser automatically. We know that it’s not like it stores everything completely but it just suggests some numbers or words that were used before. In the same way, when we use this merit system, the browser also gives suggestions like that. But there is also a way to clear it, if you remove it using the cross(x) option, it won’t suggest again later. I have checked this on two different browsers, you can also check it yourself if you like.
