The statement from Trump looks threatening and would actually affect the decorum of the World Cup. FIFA has the right to move their games to the country they feel their players will feel safer when playing. If anything happens to the Iranian players in the course of this World Cup, it’ll definitely be a big tarnish to the host nations and could receive some sanctions for that, that’s if they’re not even above the laws that’s in charge of that. FIFA has already committed that the World Cup will not be moved, meaning that it is impossible to avoid the US as the host because it has already stated that the World Cup will continue, although in the news that I read FIFA continues to communicate to all federations participating in this tournament including Iran but I don't know how it will continue whether Iran will refuse? I don't like the fact that there is too much of politics in football today, this is not how it was and i think FIFA is to blame. I never liked the idea of the World Cup in countries that are not traditionally footballing countries, but with Qatar hosting the 2022 World Cup, it is obvious money comes first for the organizing body.

The World Cup is held every four years and it is planned a long time in advance how it will be organized and where it will be held, so it is very difficult to suddenly change the decision now. The World Cup is not only an American asset, it is an asset for the whole world, so I don't think that war can create any kind of obstacle to the World Cup and there can be any problem with safety. So I still don't think that the Iranian government will listen to this and FIFA will move to Mexico, and I am still not clear how true this information of yours is because you have not given any source link here and I personally have not seen such news so far.

Let be real with ourselves, with or without Trump statement, we already know that there is no way that Iran will participate in the coming world cup, with the level that the crisis in that region has reached right now, Iran will definitely go for the best which is to boycott the world cup, we also see that some Iranian players are already seeking Asylum in countries their playing in, and that shows how disconnected they are from their national team.

I believe even Iranian players are already prepared for this reality and have moved on even before the official announcements of their non-participation in the World Cup this time.

This can actually be negotiated. This is about football, so I will not go for the political aspects. We are talking about human lives here. The best would be FIFA should accept the request of the Iranian government by moving Iranian matches to Mexico if possible, or to Canada if Iran accepts the offer, but that is if it is possible.

Good post, but this is just a speculation which is not yet a reality. What will happen lies with the decision from FIFA. If FiFA accepted Iran conditions, they will still play in the world cup. This news is recent and today.

There is not actually any chance the FIFA gives credit to the Iranian Government when comes to using the words of president Trump against himself.
Actually, when comes to wars like this one we are seeing in the middle east, football is actually one of the least things people (common people) give their attention to.

I don't think if they would truly anticipate for the world cup due to the circumstances at hand now, people can not be thinking of their life's and  also start talking about entertainment.. although, if not for anything, but just for the turbulent FIFA may consider to move its nearest country for the match to hold. At this time people's lives and safety should be put into consideration first, and FIFA should not joke that they will be left with three options here: either there is a way to negotiate and guarantee the players' safety from the US government and security team, or they consider the proposal Iranians gave them, or they go with the last option, which is to replace them in the tournament, which should be the last option if every other thing won't work.

Their's crisis already in Iran and if they says that they're not partaking on world cup, FIFA should allow them, because they're on combats with two countries....And FIFA is even suppose to restrict Israel not to partake in world cup, if Israel is qualify to partake in world cup...

I'm on the side of professionals who only consider what they should gain from the greatest sport, football.
In my opinion, Trump's statement regarding the Iranian national team demonstrates America's unpreparedness to host the competition, ensuring the comfort and safety of a competing team.

If FIFA chooses to listen to a decision that is detrimental to one party, it means FIFA's status as an organization has deviated.
The Russia case is a turning point that should be used as a lesson.

Since the USA is involved in the war, and if FIFA thinks the war will still be ongoing by the time of the World Cup, it would be better to change the host and let the game take place on neutral ground. I know the war is not really affecting the US, but you can never tell because anything can happen. The World Cup game is one that will attract people from different places to come watch.

Yes of course, FIFA will listen to them and try to fix some matches against USA with other teams. FIFA knows how to do that very well. Trump will certainly had to undergo a thorough security check if this team is coming to USA, because certain team shouldn't be trusted any longer, who knows if they might come with a bomb or something disastrous on the USA citizens, who knows.

You just made a pointless comment and spoke out of information regarding the situation, US as a country don't have right to stop Iran from participating in the world cup, just that some Iranain matches slated to be played in the United States can be shifted to other host values like Mexico which is the closest to Iran in this case, and the security Trump talked about, is that of the player and not that he is accusing players of possibly entering with bomb as you mentioned.

I actually support Iran's request. This is the World Cup, every country that qualifies has the right to play football without threats being issued. The US co-hosting the world cup yet still issuing threats to the Iranians is uncalled for. FIFA should reconsider shifting the Iran fixture to a country suitable for them. I don't fvck with Donald Trump but you must mistake intent or you must have read that too quick. I meant the part where he stated * Not Guaranteeing safety of Iranians"
 
I could still be wrong because English is not my first language but I do think,  he meant using nuclear weapons on Iranians who are currently will not be in America when he plan on utilising nukes. FIFA anyways has turned a lot more political, that is by the way, they have rejected the request. It screams how corrupt they're.
