It does not surprise me that much, actually.
There are already traders and gamblers how use their agents in order to try to get money off the future markets, they literally rely their money and their positions on the market to thinking machines, all for the sake of money and possible profit.

This is about the same thing, but in this scenario gamblers are quite getting rid of the fun factor almost completely and go all in for the profit factor and possibly allow their greed to go loose.

I am okey with people allowed to do whatever they what with their money, it is their money after all.
I am only against AI agents and Bots partaking in poker when tables are only supposed to be occupied by human beings.

They probably get the idea on trading bot which an AI can do the trade for you depending on your chosen parameters or the AI suggestion itself.

Assuming everything is fair for the AI, I believe this is not bad innovation but they should provide a way to verify each bet fairness to determine if the AI decision on particular game is accurate to the desired settings.

Also settings should be available for the AI to determine the decision making depending on the winning probability of the hand and so on like a risk appetite of the AI.

It might not be an acceptable innovation to you but I can say that's a very good one amd its certainly one that is worth existing.  Even before now I've heard of people using similar AI tools that they allow the AI to make a choice for the onnthe choice of games they want to play.  They give the AI the right to make the best choice.  Believing that the AIs judgement will be correand good, and this has been working for them. So this will certainly not be a bad idea totally.  You want to hive it a try before totally writing it off.

A case of this nature has been reported in a poker competition were players were perceived to have used AI to play poker games against real humans and they won their places but were later discovered by the organisers of the poker and were all stripped of their winnings because they cheated the system which was very bad.  It is very disappointing to see and every right thinking individual would take measures to ensure transparency and trust in the system and in so doing would call cheating participants to order.

Perhaps they're aiming for a more intuitive betting discipline that adapts to the playing patterns of all opponents at the table. AI would be better because it thinks without emotion. It might be problematic if you don't know if most of the players are AI-driven by the operator. I think that would reduce some of the fairness of the game to a certain extent.

Lol… sorry, I don’t mean for that to sound offensive or anything, but OP is making a valid point, even if it’s a bit “old” (the bot issue). I put “old” in quotes because, without a doubt, with the advancement of AI, these bots have improved a lot.

On the other hand, many sites have banned the use of third-party tools like the now-outdated Holdem Manager or PokerTracker. They used to be like lightsabers from Star Wars, making you almost unbeatable… meaning there have always been players with an edge, as well as dumb bots. Back in the day, it was easier to identify them.
So; Anyway, finding sites that protect you not only from human collusion but also from bots is essential.

Only play on certified sites that don’t allow these kinds of situations. And that’s my answer to OP’s question.

Of course not. AIs are always going to be better than me, so wanting to play at those tables is like a lamb going to the slaughter.

What I’m curious about is what would happen to those AIs if there were no humans in the room. I suppose some AIs would be better than others and might come out on top, but once they’re all equally good, the owners of those AIs will lose money because, in the long run, they won’t win or lose, but they will end up losing money due to the rake.

Well, AI begins to dominate the world of trading, it comes close to the mind that AI will soon enter the world of gambling as well.
We have AI trading bots, we will soon have AI poker bots or blackjack bots. The gamblers could just hire such AI bot to play gambling games for them 24/7(until the bot wastes all their money). I don't get the point of this, since house edge is a thing and gambling has a negative expected value in the long term, but who cares. The casinos want to squeeze more money out of the gamblers, so they will introduce new paid features(that are kinda useless). Maybe some gamblers believe that an AI bot is going to be more successful than them, so they are going to pay for such feature.

People place a bet by AI and let AI do the rest for them but they don't know about how the analysis that AI will do. Perhaps we set before we place our bet through the AI.

It's an innovation, is it cool or not? It's just a matter of taste, I guess... some people will like it, and some will think it's pretty stupid. So it's the future, but at the same time it's weird...

Can we compare this with playing chess against computers/AI? I am not sure whether I would try to play against AI... somehow I feel like we don't have a chance, especially in the long run.

Personally if I were to play I would want to have the opportunity to know the full table information with how many AI and how many humans. Because if it is half AI then the strategy and puzzles are completely different. While it is new and technically fun but it is not sure if it provides a full human experience.

What I’m curious about is what would happen to those AIs if there were no humans in the room. At that point. A skill based game will rely on tough luck as their winning percentage depends on the cards they will get and the pre flop cards available since their decision making is already very calculated without a human feeling.

I’m not a good poker player so I will surely don’t want to go against them as they are designed based on pro poker skills in regards to determining winning percentage on each hand and how to decide on that situation.

Just leave the table; otherwise, you are just torturing yourselves because you can't beat them. And even having luck against them is way too impossible to happen. You're just lost. Better look for another game. Slots are even better than facing AIs at the table. At least you have the chance to win.

This kind of promotion will not gain positive views but rather questioning. Gamblers will gamble fairly, so the casino will do the same. If their purpose is to save manpower, I don't think that is reasonable enough.

Is that the new feature they trying to pull off? Actually AI agents on trading works good but obviously it needs a lot of training for those agents since they are basing most likely on historical pattern and new experience. In other words it needs more time to adopt like a real himan being. Maybe same case for gambling agents. This needs a lot of play time before we can say the feature is working good.

But as a human, the prime questions there is would you risked your money and rely on AI agent? Maybe yes or no based on results.

Damn, that's really crazy. AI agents competing against each other was fine but including real money for this is truly insane.
Obviously, real money doesn't mean anything to these AI agents. It's just the same as playing with free coins for them.
Only thing that would be interesting to see is who would win. I guess the one which has better tech and data to feed on will win.
So we will be indirectly betting on the tech behind AI bots instead of betting on the match. Sounds insane to me.

Hmm. This sort of stuff is nothing new at all. I have been watching bots playing at such poker tables in crypto and FIAT gambling sites for eons now which is understandable to a certain extent since not many real people play poker regularly at such tables.

AI tech playing at such tables is just taking things to a whole new level. Double edged sword for everyone involved basically.
