Thank you for the positive words and attention to the project.

No — 0trace is not a mixer. We are a privacy-focused instant exchange service.
A mixer is specifically designed to obfuscate the transaction history of the same asset by pooling and redistributing funds between multiple participants.
0trace works differently. We process regular cryptocurrency swaps between different assets and networks using our own liquidity and exchange infrastructure.

Privacy and mixing are not the same thing.
Thank you for responding as well, it is encouraging to see representatives addressing users questions for clarification. And from what you have explained so far, I am now convinced that Otrace is not a mixer, rather a cryptocurrency exchange that promote pure privacy.

I also tried to explore your platform and the image below puped up. Since the Otrace exchange is still undergoing update process I would check back later to see if there are any areas I that may require further clarifications, thanks.

System update usually go on in every exchange and I think that’s what is going on and I just tried the exchange now and theirs nothing like that anymore, I think the update has ended, they are really working on their exchange and that’s why they are updating and that’s good for them and again maybe someone pointed out something on their exchange they really needed to work on and maybe that’s what they were trying to fix.
You can go on with the exchange now it’s fine now because I checked.

Yeah, system update is something that commonly happen on any platform not only on exchanges.  Otrace, on the other hand is still in its early stage, so seeing the platform undergoing an update is not surprising since the Otrace exchange is still in its early stage.  I also checked the exchange before making this comment, the Otrace exchange is still undergoing update process, and it might take some time before the update process is completed.

Yes, that's right. Of course, there will be fewer of them in the future. We're currently in the active phase of constant updates.

We really appreciate your attention.
You guys are really working hard to keep the exchange updated and running. You should try as much as possible to communicate to your clients Via your X handle before any updates takes effect on your exchange. You cannot paused ongoing activities on your exchange without informing your clients. Most exchanges I have done transactions with always inform their clients before any updates is implemented. Please you people should inform clients before updating the platforms, this shows respect.

Major Update: Partner API, New Order Flow & UI.

We've shipped a significant update across the board. Here's what changed:

Partner API — now live Server-to-server integration is available for aggregators, wallets, and monitorings. Two models: set your own markup (0–20 %) on every quote, or apply for revenue share — a configurable split of the base service fee. Wire format is ff.io/v2 compatible, so existing integrations require minimal changes.

Docs and partner contact: https://0trace.io/api

Redesigned order flow The entire order process has been rebuilt from the ground up — new UI, cleaner steps, faster interaction. The backend handling orders has been optimized as well: lower latency from quote to confirmation.

Smaller UI improvements Various quality-of-life changes throughout the interface.

Thank you to everyone who supports and helps the project grow — it means a lot to us.

I took a closer look at Otrace, and frankly speaking Otrace is a perfect example of privacy. Therefore, if you are the type who values privacy then Otrace is here for you. But their is something I would like their representative to clarify for me. Since Octrace is an instant crypto swap platform that doesn't require users to register before using it,  what is the difference between Octrace and a mixer? And don't you think people could classified Otrace as a mixer?

That comes to my mind too but I think since is a new project they can resolve that gradually, but what is good is that Otrace is private and you can do your thing in a peaceful way without too much stress in it. Mixer is different with Octrace because if you see mixers is not till they told you is it and you will definitely understand it immediately. I can’t wait for the new thing that is coming and am sure that can be a good thing that will benefit many people in the exchange, we will be waiting for the new update that is coming from Otrace.

Well I’m quite excited about what is coming soon, because I have actually picked a massive interest in your project, which I’m quite happy about, I would always want something as a new development in your platform, few days ago I was able to take a closer watch on your platform and I must say I’m impressed with the privacy in this project.

I have used your platform once for exchanging my cryptocurrency I must admit I was very very impressed with what I have seen in your exchange platform.

I must admit I was very very impressed with what I have seen in your exchange platform.

They are doing very well I most say too, the exchange has no issues but I'm still looking to see any red flag but I have not seen any meaning the exchange is doing very well and they plan to stay in business for long, I believe they will improve more and become more better as time goes on.
Again I have not seen anyone complain about their service in this thread that is also a good sign because before i even thought about using their service I first checked all the comments made by people on this thread and that's one way to go about things in this forum.

I love the new improvement nice job on the update so far. Now the order flows are more cleaner and so faster then that of before. I love the very part at which one can set out it own markup up to 20% or one will go for reverenue share. The very aspect which am impressed about it their no any complaints about stuck swap or a failed transaction made so far. This shows a good start for a new exchange

ff.io/v2 with Partner API their compatibility is a good one for wallets.
Will keep on reviewing the Ul, and if in anyway notice anything will come and drops some feedbacks here. Keep up the good work.

I actually decided to check out Otrace website and I do like the simple and clean approach on the website. The interface is pretty basic,  but it's very obvious there's a big push toward privacy, including support for Monero, Tor access, PGP and one time swap flow. It is unlike the average exchange platforms with an excessive number of features.

I'm also starting to get the idea of why the team would be taking things slow with limits and infrastructure before spreading out further,  developing a private exchange that operates on several chains is not something that should be done in a rush.

But, one thing I am interested in, will there be some plans to include more privacy features  directly in the swap process itself someday?

A mixer is specifically designed to obfuscate the transaction history of the same asset by pooling and redistributing funds between multiple participants.
That's not the definition Bitcointalk uses: "I am trying to create an Easter Egg, please do not spoil it and do not mention this""I am trying to create an Easter Egg, please do not spoil it and do not mention this""I am trying to create an Easter Egg, please do not spoil it and do not mention this""I am trying to create an Easter Egg, please do not spoil it and do not mention this""I am trying to create an Easter Egg, please do not spoil it and do not mention this""I am trying to create an Easter Egg, please do not spoil it and do not mention this""I am trying to create an Easter Egg, please do not spoil it and do not mention this""I am trying to create an Easter Egg, please do not spoil it and do not mention this""I am trying to create an Easter Egg, please do not spoil it and do not mention this""I am trying to create an Easter Egg, please do not spoil it and do not mention this"
Definition of a mixer

For clarity, here is a detailed definition of what we mean by a "mixer". Most people know intuitively what a mixer is and don't have to read this.

Something is considered a mixer if it meets all of these requirements:
 1. It has a feature advertised for taking property, improving its privacy somehow, and then returning roughly the same type of property.
     a. Even though you can sometimes use non-mixers to mix coins by depositing and then withdrawing, this doesn't make it a mixer because this is an incidental use of the service; the service isn't advertised as privacy-enhancing.
     b. If a site is not primarily a mixer but has a mixer function, such as a mixer function on a gambling website, then the whole site is considered a mixer.
     c. If the site takes coins, gives you a possibly-transferrable IOU, and will convert this IOU back into mixed coins much later, then the temporary conversion into a different type of property does not prevent it from being considered a mixer.
     d. If the site internally converts your deposit into other things as part of its mixing, but ultimately the point of the product is to get your original type of property back, then that's a mixer, not an exchanger.
 2. It is possible for the mixer to steal property passing through it. Assume that the sender does everything as correctly as possible. Also assume that no miners/verifiers on the base-layer cryptocurrency are evil. But assume that every other actor involved is evil (everyone able to vote in a DAO, every coordination server, every counterparty, every member of a multisig, etc.). Ignore short-term software bugs which are expected to be quickly fixed.
 3. The service does not collect KYC-type info from all users. (This is not an endorsement of KYC generally, or a condemnation of non-KYC services generally. Non-KYC services of other types are still allowed, and in many cases they are a good idea.)

Examples of things that are not mixers under our definition include exchangers (unless they have a mixing function), CoinJoin-supporting non-custodial wallets, and Monero.
I'd say your description fits the above definition:
Deposits and payouts live on separate wallets. The on-chain link between what you send and what you receive is broken by design
Why else would someone exchange BTC for BTC and pay 1% fee for that?

Don't get me wrong: I value privacy and appreciate privacy services, but you'll need to fit within the rules of the mixer ban.

I appreciate the fact that you came to clearify everything, before now there was user named Joy- Maker who asked the Otrace representative to explain the difference between Octrace and a mixer. I believe he noticed some things about the Octrace exchange, judging from how Bitcointalk defines a mixer. Perhaps, they should try to fit in, as you have said earlier, because that's the only way they can stay here on Bitcointalk, otherwise they will banned from Bitcointalk.

But, there is something I would like their representative to clarify for me. Since Octrace is an instant crypto swap platform that doesn't require users to register before using it,  what is the difference between Octrace and a mixer? And don't you think people could classified Otrace as a mixer?

You’ve pointed out some very important concerns. We reviewed and clarified a few parts of our wording to avoid ambiguity.
We have also removed same-asset swap directions to avoid confusion around the intended purpose of the service.

Thank you for the thoughtful feedback — these are valuable points for us.
