Do you actually check labels before putting plastic containers in the microwave? Do you try to avoid disposable stuff and use metal utensils instead?

plastic is pretty much everywhere in our life.

there is suggestions to avoid them such as our clothes, you can try to buy 100% cotton as oppose to polyester which has plastics in it.
also your bed sheets, use cotton sheets instead of polyester .

you can also replace plastic cups with glass cups or metal.

All plastic containers are safe.Before using them in the microwave. You should always check the label for like Microwave safe.It is best to avoid single-use plastic cup, plates, and bottles, and instead use reusable glass or stainles  steel containers. Using metal or glas for cooking serving food. Also reduces direct contact with plastic. Processed foods of have plastic linings or packaging, so possible, it is a better to eat fresh foods vegetables, and fruits. Try to avoid single use plastic bags. When shopping. Overall. For heating or storing food, using glass or stainles steel containers is the safest option.

Yes.  It pisses me off when a restaurant sends me plastic utensils I didn't ask for - they go right in the garbage.      But what you are describing is not microplastics - those are the ones we cannot see, they pass through our filters and get broken down into smaller pieces for up to a thousand years.

Plastic comes from oil... oil being chemically altered. And it is becoming pollution. And Trump and the money system like the oil profits even though the oil is being used to kill us all.

You should always check the label for like Microwave safe.

I learned a long time ago to never trust labels. Same goes for advertising. Cigarettes once upon a time had advertisements saying they were healthy and labels telling customers the brand was reccomended by doctors. I've had "microwavable safe" containers warp/melt after heating them in said microwave.

I've read somewhere that there is an estimated 1-5 grams worth of microplastic material in our body by the time we would pass of old age. You could make an average spoon out of that much plastic.

hello Daniel the Crypto Lord, microplastics are a significant risk i always check the labels of the products. if there is a product in plastic, i take that product out of the plastic and put it in a glass or ceramic thing and heat it in the microwave in that way. unlike disposable products, i especially buy reusable products, i think this is a more important point. i pay attention to recycling. i separate plastics and opt for eco alternatives if possible...

Yes, more than before. I am not paranoid about it, but I try not to microwave food in plastic unless I really have to. Glass is just easier and gives more peace of mind. Plastic may be convenient, but for repeated heating I do not think it is the best choice.

Look at it the other way. Plastic-world/Waterworld is getting so bad that you could almost tour the world without using any fuel on your ship. Simply scoop the plastic out of the water and burn it in the ship's steam engines.

Think of touring the world for free. Maybe the big cruise ships are already doing this without telling us.

Microplastics are one of the most harmful forms of pollution we are dealing with, because they end up everywhere in the environment and accumulate in the food chain, especially in fish and seafood that we eat

The last jar of collagen I got from Walmart had a notice on it. It said '90% less plastic'.

Collagen is good for bones, skin, and connective tissues in the body.

I can't tell if this last jar isn't working as well because I am getting older, or because of 90% less plastic.

Many of those are concerned in this regard and also affected by the same challenges as we failed to put in more attention there was the health implications from all these things we do, but medically, it has been proven that there is health implications that may come through the use of microwave, but people put less attention on this regard because they don't see it possible as it is a long time health implication.

The only remedy to avoiding all this is by going natural with what we eat and use, just as we know how the traditions in some countries were being made, people do it on leaves and also drink natural water from streams, and they cook also with firewood and the smoke at some savour to eat, the same process can be used in preserving our food or we avoid taking stalled food.

We do many things in our daily lives with which we directly consume plastic, for example, we often eat rice on melamine plates. When we put hot food on plastic or melamine plates, the plastic or melamine decomposes and turns into toxic chemicals that we consume through food. When all these toxic chemicals like plastic enter our body, they cause serious diseases like cancer. Moreover, when we inhale plastic particles and micro-particles with the air, they enter our blood and cause lung cancer. However, if the current world is not aware of these plastic particles, then the trend of cancer in the future will be so intense that it is beyond imagination.

Plastic containers are no good and my worry is that a little plastic particles can enter into water and food without us even noticing it, most especially when it's has been closed to heat. But we should not panic rather be wise because plastic is everywhere so if m being sincere is for us not to run away from it rather we should try as much we can to reduce it.

Avoid leaving hot meal inside plastic container, do not drink any water from plastic bottles that has been under the sun if possible carry your own gas or steel container when you're going out, if we can be doing this with time the use of plastics won't really be for a long run it might even go into extinction

There isn’t a whole lot you can do to avoid microplastics. You can try to buy things in glass instead of plastic as often as possible and avoid touching things that leak chemicals into your body but it is impossible at this point to avoid microplastics for the normal person. Luckily, we all die, so for us it is a temporary problem.

I don't have a problem with the use of plastic, my concern is about disposal of plastic and how some people do not follow proper disposal measures, if only plastics are disposed in garbage, packed and refined or whatever procedure they go through, it will do less harm than imagined. Some unhealthy disposal i see people do is openly burning plastics, in some countries, there are people who go about to buy disposed plastic containers including glass bottles, maintaining safe standards will help the community.

To be honest, I myself did not know about microplastics before. But after watching various Reels videos on YouTube, I came to know about microplastics. And now I am a little aware. Like when I used to go out to have tea, I used to drink tea in a plastic cup, now I try to avoid it, now I drink tea in a nearby cup, because when I come in contact with hot tea, microplastics from plastic cups are tortured which can even cause cancer cells in our body.

And now I am trying to avoid another thing, which is drinking water in plastic bottles, Earlier I used to reuse plastic bottles repeatedly to drink water, but I did not know that there are different categories of plastic bottles. So now I try to use steel bottles to drink water. But it is true that plastic has now become an essential element of our life, so even if we want to we cannot completely avoid plastic.

Maybe micro-plastics are good for you. Have there been any long-term (at least 10-year) studies done that prove it one way or the other?

Just think. Soon we might all be called synthetic people. Old ladies will politely be called 'plastic bags'.
