This might sound very crazy but it happened live in my area were a two close friend was aggressively analyzing a football game to the extent of even quarreling so at the end they ended up agreed on betting their wife's , that was when I came in and I  was like are you both serious about this? I asked them because I can't get it how this whole gambling stuff has taken another level to the point of you people coming up with such ridiculous idea.

Selling or gambling people is not allowed anywhere in any country. That would fall under human trafficking, I think. Although I am not a lawyer, such things can be easily googled and debunked as fake.

I don't think it's possible for anyone to stake his wife without her knowledge. This is the worst of all gamblers that I have seen. Both of them should be happy that they're friends and only ranting because I feel they just said that to make it look as if they're too serious about the game. If they venture do that to someone more powerful than them in riches, connection and power, if they lose, their wives will forcefully be taken from them. I know my limits in gambling.

Nah, probably those that are arguing are closest friends and maybe in the spur of the moment, the other one proposes and bet his wife. But I don't think they are serious and most likely they are just joking because I don't think that they are serious about it. Unless they are in the society that women has no value on them. But we are in the modern era already, women are treated with respect and equal to their someone. So I agree that it sound ridiculous, but I don't think you have to take their words seriously.

It makes you laugh and cry at the same time, in my little village about 10 years ago something like this really happened, but in that case they were clandestine gambling dens, where they were frequented by unsavory people.
I met a gentleman who was wealthy at the time. He told me that he lost two cars and his house playing cards in these places, and once a gentleman's wife won. My curiosity was piqued, and I said, but what does winning a wife mean? That she becomes your slave? Or do you just take her to bed once? But didn't the lady rebel? All legitimate questions because it's something out of the ordinary.
He told me that the wife becomes a sex toy, continues to live her life, but every time she feels like it she knocks on the door and consummates the relationship. But how does the wife submit to this absurdity, I asked? He told me that if they don't respect the gaming pacts, considering that there are dangerous people involved, they are seriously at risk.

I think that was a joke taken too far how do people stake their wives for gambling?, like what profit were they going to get after the stake, and how would they retrieve the profit for anyone that might have won the bet since they staked with their wives at home and they have no knowledge that their husbands have mortgage them for a game outside, this really sounds funny and crazy to even think of, so they are telling us they don't have money to stake on whatever they were arguing on than staking their wives for it, there are so many questions that demands answers for that very action because that's foolishness.

Bro Wife's a small thing, I've seen people bet houses ( not theirs, their parents'). Losing in any kind of game hurts a person's ego and if a person's ego gets hurt in a sport as dangerous as gambling then it becomes Lethal. People agree to bet their wives then here you can see how extreme can this gambling get. What will happen if He loses the bet?? Will he be content that he gave his wife to someone else?? I think he might even get suicidal thoughts because as a Man thats the worst thing that can happen with you. I don't understand the story. They bet their wives how? The winner would become the owner of the woman. If this is the case, it's similar to selling someone as a slave.

People could do so many stupid things to satisfy their uncontrollable habits. But betting your wife seems unthinkable. I did a quick search and saw similar stories.

This is the worst gambling story I have seen in my gambling life. But gambling without the knowledge of a woman is even worse, but people gamble with money, wealth, etc., but I have never heard of this story of gambling on a wife. It only happens in the movie as far as I know, sort of like a "indecent proposal" kind of thing. But we can't be sure in this case if this is true or not. Because if you are a good husband, even if worst cases, you won't stake your wife.

It is not unusual for friends to bet and say all sorts of things to prove they have better analysis or to have done their own research. So it ends in joke, to use a follow human being to bet then you should know it is impossible to achieve. If they bet with money or material things like their watch, phone etc, it will be easy to redeem not human being nor wife. So does it mean the winner of the bet will now become the new husband and start sleeping with the woman just like that   . It is what was said in the heat of argument and nothing serious, it has no legal backing as no document was signed.

Most likely, this wasn't done seriously, or I can also admit that there are some families in which open relationships are tolerated, where spouses are allowed to have affairs outside the home. But even then, it sounds like some kind of joke, because it requires the wife's consent, not just the husband's desire to put his wife on the line in one of their disputes. And I think arguing about teams is pointless. If you're sure you're right, just bet on your team and prove to everyone what a good bettor you are.

I find this very hard to believe, I would have prefer if you bring this to the forum right after the game is over, and let's see if they will keep their words, I know that there are men out there who still stands on their words.

If something like this happen close to me I won't believe it because most of the time gamblerd aren't always serious with what they say, they might have said all this out of joke.

i haven't heard or seen this type of gambling or a situation where a person tries to gamble away his wife just to prove a point. i have seen people gamble with their cloths, phones or any personal belonging but haven't heard of this kind of case, it could just be a joke or they are not serious because this is really funny. and i dont think there wives are even awear of this bet. they will definitely be angry when they here this news.

To be honest I've only seen things like this in movies before I never thought it was going to happen in real life. I was a little surprised to read your post because it seems like it went to far all of a sudden I think they may not have been so serious but the words came out in the excitement of the moment , So maybe it wasn't entirely serious but rather the emotion of the moment but even so its seems like going to a place like that is a bit much
