John Riel is back again, and now he is facing the former multi-weight champion Luis Nery. The winner of this fight has the potential to have a crack at the world title.

This could be Casimero's ticket to have a chance to fight Inoue, but Nery is also gunning for a title shot, and he is coming from a two-win streak.

This has the makings of a great fight; both fighters are tough and love to mix it up, and they are motivated to have another crack at the title.

As for the former trainer, we do understand his concerns, he is no longer with Casimero so he might go against his former pupil. Yes, he might come out looking and swinging early to look for a knockout as the doesn't want this fight to go to full distance as his chances are slimming on winning on the judges scorecard.

If I'm not mistaken, Casimero lost in his last fight and when Nery fought Inoue, he put the monster down in the canvass although he didn't sustain his run. I’m not surprised Casimero is the underdog. Nery is younger and has a reach advantage. He also beat Kameda via TKO, whom Casimero lost to by unanimous decision. Nery was also the first to score a knockdown against Inoue. Although he lost, that’s still a great feat. Nery has also been consistent and disciplined. I’m actually surprised, but I like it. Based on my research, the odds for Casimero to win are around 3.00, which is very tempting. He doesn’t have many losses, and Nery isn’t really a big fighter who can use reach to make Casimero struggle.

I’m hoping for a toe to toe battle here, and I believe that’s exactly the kind of fight Casimero wants. He’s been waiting to face a world class opponent again, and Nery fits that, a former champion. Even if he lost to Inoue, he’s definitely not a leftover.

Yes, we have been clamoring ever since for Casimero to fight Inoue. Or at least Inoue recognized Casimero as a true test for him because he has given Nery the time and he was knockdown but eventually stop Nery.

So let's just hope for the better for our kababayan here. Although we don't like what he says lately against our very own Donaire, but still he might still have a better chance to bet Nery. And if this win is by knockout, then that Inoue fight might be in consideration again.
