I installed Cake Wallet on Windows but couldn't install it on Debian.
You're  not installing anything. Just extract and run it, it's not a long or complicated process.

Did you follow the guide?   Any error?  There has to be a reason you were unable to install it because it works on Debian and I also have it installed  on my Debian based linux distro.

If you're  comfortable with using it on Windows then no problem  but if you still need help on using it on your Linux  then let's know what really happened.

I will delete trust wallet in my list.  Smiley
I’m glad you decided to stop using Trust Wallet as your Bitcoin wallet. Trust Wallet is a multi-currency wallet that supports many coins, but it has numerous shortcomings that could potentially harm users.
Instead of using Trust Wallet as a multi-currency wallet, check out Unstoppable Wallet and set it up as some people have suggested. This wallet supports many coins. For Bitcoin alone, there are several types of addresses available.

Once again, I recommend that when choosing a wallet for storing assets, you keep Bitcoin separate from other coins.
I suggest storing Bitcoin in a dedicated Bitcoin wallet.

Hi,

To start with a beginner-friendly app wallet which do you recommend?

Both have their downsides. Trust Wallet has become quite bloated and confusing over time, BlueWallet is solid but Bitcoin-only.
If you want something simple - try Gem Wallet. Clean minimal interface, set up in under a minute. Open source, self-custody, 100+ chains, built-in swaps and staking.

I read your previous posts, and it seems like it's specifically for Debian. Which makes me wonder why you mentioned BlueWallet and TrustWallet. As far as I'm aware, they're usually being discussed for iOS/Android wallets. Maybe you need to edit your thread title/OP to make it clearer since some people won't read the last 20 posts or so. But anyway, what about your Cake Wallet "installation" progress? Sounds like other members assume you should be able to use it easily. CMIIW.

It's hard to assume that posts like these are from a newbie account.

It's best to search using the forum; you'll find detailed answers to all the questions you asked in your last three posts.

Yup, and also the comparison he wants between BlueWallet and Trust wallet is wrong in the first place because Blue Wallet is a bitcoin-only wallet, and Trust wallet is a multi-coin wallet where one can store bitcoin along with altcoins.

I prefer to use a Bitcoin-only wallet for storing Bitcoin, and Blue Wallet is the right choice, although I myself prefer to use Electrum. For altcoins, I would suggest using an open-source wallet like Unstoppable and avoiding Trust Wallet, as it has had some issues in the past, too. I hope OP is educated enough know the difference between open source and closed source wallet and their pros and cons.

Hi,

To start with a beginner-friendly app wallet which do you recommend?

Trustwallet is extremely shady! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

I lost almost $6000 because of their broken UI and I am pretty sure something else is going on in the background. They also got hacked: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5536900.msg66295760#msg66295760

Stay away from Trustwallet, unless you want to lose ALL your money!

I checked their GitHub repo and I found this issue (Feature Request) that suggests them to release the binaries with GPG signatures or at least the provided hashes.
But it's been 3 years+ and it's still open without a reply from the main developer.

Link: github.com/cake-tech/cake_wallet/issues/1217
They provide the gpg public key, but not the signed binaries, that's what I don't understand. Anyway, at least for now we have hash verification.
You mean the one in that linked issue?
He's only a contributor and not the main developer who builds the releases.
It's the same key provided in the readme page used by the devs to sign the apk releases (Under APK verification).
They shared it exclusively for that purpose, for now.

But they wont comment about the linux binaries' signature requested in the issue.
