Telling your brother to invest into Bitcoin is not the problem now, have you bring to his notice how Bitcoin works, because every investment has it's own rules and regulations, because investing in Bitcoin required knowledge and understanding of how it operated and a lot of patience,so telling a gambler to invest into Bitcoin is a very hard work, reason because in gambling sometimes gamblers have chances of winning big with a short period of time, while investing into Bitcoin warrant a long time to accumulate more profit,

I dont know if it's just me but i dont see any reason how bitcoin is suddenly the a solution to gamble. Bitcoin is on a different part and gambling on its own different part. If anyone needs to stop gambling fine, maybe they should give him or show him people who gamble has destroyed their lives and probably take him to a rehab. Personally I do both gamble and bitcoin investment and I don't let myself to get addicted to the point where I start substituting other important things for the urge of gambling. Maybe what you friend also needs is proper education to the risks of gambling when you get addicted.

Because in gambling we bet on luck and the outcome depends on probability, just as if we trade without a plan and imagine that the price will rise tomorrow and we will make a profit, it becomes like gambling. It may be reasonable to get someone interested in investing in Bitcoin after returning from gambling or to advise them, but if they see Bitcoin as a way to make money, they may end up losing money just like they did in gambling. Gambling is for fun and recreation and that is what people should see it as. When people depend on gambling for easy money, then they are signing up for disappointment because gambling funds are not easy, you've to continue trying to get lucky and win and no one accounts for your lost capital, but investing into bitcoin secures your capital for you and hedge it against inflation and would possibly prove profitable in the future.

 I think you are wrong here because bitcoin is never an alternative for gambling. It is not a good idea to advise someone who is gambling to consider bitcoin as an alternative. The person will still have the same mindset of making quick profit from bitcoin and they will end up gambling with bitcoin in the pursuit of quick profit. Apart from gambling, what we should also advise people to stay away from is future trading, infact its more dangerous than gambling this day that exchange have found ways to manipulate the market and even increase their leverage where traders can use as much as 500x leverage as seen and read on some discussion in exchange.

Bitcoin holding is more secured and less stressful to anyone compared to gambling or even trading per say, even if you use engage in the you should do that with amount that you can afford to lose and be OK with.

Actually,gambling wasn’t designed to be profitable the way most people are thinking it ought to be,once you notice an irresponsible lifestyle towards your gambling habit that wouldn’t be profitable it would be better to quit than to continue in destruction.It’s a nice thing that your brother admitted the fact that he would have invested in bitcoin earlier,rather than wasting he’s money on gambling(anyways gambling isn’t a waste of time if only your approach towards it happens to be on the right track).He shouldn’t regret that much because it isn’t to late for him to make profits from bitcoin investment if he starts now.

There is nothing wrong with gambling I the person involved can set a boundary between his gambling and life. I don't think that anyone with priorities in life will be really affected with his gambling activities because such people have set limits when it comes to gambling. You can be accumulating Bitcoin alongside your gambling activities because, gambling is for the purpose of having fun and leisure.


Setting your financial goals should be prioritized over everything and for someone with financial goals in mind, gambling will not be an hindrance to his financial targets so such persons will naturally prioritize investing in Bitcoin over gambling.
