Somehow I feel like Donald Trump’s sudden U-turn on attacking Iran’s power plants wasn’t just random. It looked very calculated, especially considering how the market reacted after Iran released a list of potential targets, including key power plants in the nearby Gulf countries. The tension alone was already shaking confidence and Trump knows very well that the little leverage and influence he still holds is strongly tied to market reactions. A single statement from him can move markets either up or down. What caught my attention is the timing. He made that U-turn right before the market opened on Monday and as expected, the market responded positively. That doesn’t look like coincidence to me.
At this point, it feels like a pattern to create tension, let uncertainty build, then pull back to stabilize things. And honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if before the market closes on Friday, we hear another strong statement or threat that shakes things again. That man really knows how to play the game when it comes to influence and market psychology.

It seem likely but I don’t even think of it as a strategy or anything like that but just that he has a team of critical thinkers who are behind the choices he makes or actions he takes even though he too could be smart but the teams are really smart yet I feel like it’s not even a matter of being smart it just that he have seen that Iran as a country knows their capabilities and strength over the world economy and whatever damage the cause now they know how much the world wouldn’t be willing to give such loss for a stupid mistake from trump, so they released list to make sure that they are not the only people that want a good deal, the other part has to put their ego down and work with them as well that’s all I see and not trump being a genius, the market on oil and gas are really in the hands of mid east countries production so they have to make sure they protect their own interest.

Trump has spent his whole business life (and probably his childhood) trying to bully his way to the top. That seemed to "work" well enough behind closed doors, where manipulative deals and pressure from lawyers allowed him to weasel his way to a great fortune. Hell, it has even fooled tens of millions of idiots into voting for him.. a second time. His style is to spread hatred and rile people up, because people lose braincells when they are angry causing the red mist to descend so they lose all rational behavior. All of this worked against just enough of his own people to launch him into the most powerful position in the world, where he is secretly growing his already excessive family wealth which has been his goal all along. It even works on allies, who out of sheer politeness are willing to put up with a lot of bullshit requests, demands and insults he has flung out.
But it does not work against countries who are fed up and have a geographic fortress of a country bordering one of the most important shipping lanes in the world. One that is bound to cause a massive spike in energy costs for every single country including America if you were stupid enough to threaten them. The worst of it all, none of this was Trumps idea, he just got manipulated by an even greater puppeteer in the form of the Israeli leader. He called the American military to the region so he could poke the hornets nest with a bit of extra protection, except everyone is now getting stung with no end in sight. There was never a plan, we're being run by morons.

It seems that's the case, but Iran denied that it had fruitful talks with Trump. Trump is a master manipulator because he has total control of what will happen to Iran, but he cannot control the resistance, because Iran doesn't want to back down. I think Trump is hinting at a talk before he makes his threat of strategic bombing that could escalate the war further. Let's see what's going to happen in the coming days. So far, the market is still good because of Trump's announcement. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said in a social media post on Monday that “no negotiations have been held with the US”. “Fakenews [sic] is used to manipulate the financial and oil markets and escape the quagmire in which the US and Israel are trapped,” Ghalibaf wrote on X. Iran denies any talks with US after Trump claims ‘productive’ discussions

Sometimes we outside the world of these political conflicts may believe what the media tells us but deep to the reality is a different thing. In this supremacy of political tussles, not all of them are projects for economy manipulations instead, they just what to build their military strengths. Although every countries in that strategic missions also tends to set their economy infrastructures to how it can better its country's national resources because weakness is vulnerability to oppressions and a nation that can't defend her country against others will suffer as an underdog. Donald Trump made U-turn from bombing Iran oil pipeline because Iran had also listed locations to attack back that's majorly high productive for the US. So many Trump also feared the threat and had to retreat. I also hope Trump wouldn't be trusted because he's a man of unpredictability.

Trump is a manipulator and if you trust him so much, it will be at your own risk. For some weeks now, I’ve been observing his press release statement on social media and how they don’t correspond in anyway as to what we’re seeing in reality and to what the Iranian government does is reacting. Every move is a calculated one, he makes the world see one thing and makes the other see another thing. He’s fighting for power and dominancy in the world which he doesn’t look to give up anytime soon. I am very certain that he’ll most definitely have another plan at hand. He is deceiving us on a productive move so far with the Iranian government, and they’ve denied that already. This is very obvious of the mind games he looks to be playing.

No idea what's running through that man's mind, but compared to his last term as president this time he doesn't seem to know what the fuck he's doing--with anything. And for someone with that much power, it's frightening.
A better question than OP's would be why Trump hasn't been impeached yet. Or at the very least why hasn't there been more resistance to his delusions of becoming a dictator?
But as to OP's query, I don't think anybody here has enough information to judge why Trump is doing what he's doing. The stuff that gets shared within his inner circle doesn't get reported in the media, so we're all trying to figure things out with seriously incomplete info. If that's true, why even bother?

And for someone with that much power, it's frightening.
Very frightening. He is so impulsive to an extent that we simply have to hope one day he doesn't act on those impulses and do something that would burn the world. He says something that is not true long and hard enough for people to believe that it's true. It's like he is living in his own world. When the leader of the most powerful country focuses on hate and division, then nobody is safe, not even those who feel he is on their side. The amount of power his office holds is part of the reason there is a system to check how he uses that power, but so far, that system has simply not functioned because he has used division to win that battle. Half the people who are supposed to check that power believe in the dreams he has sold them, while the other half are too clueless to do anything about it. It's even more frightening when you think of the fact that he has almost 3 years left to hold such power; that is too much time to cause a lot of havoc and instability.

Well, it's obvious. Moreover, some unknown traders (haha) earned 580 million on this manipulation. Trump is primarily a businessman suffering from the disease "profit of the brain in any situation." This is not a politician. Especially not a politician at the level of the head of state. That is, the person is out of place. Now, thanks to compromising material from Epstein's archives, he has become a puppet in the hands of the Deep State. The 5-day delay is explained simply - that's how long it will take the ship with the Marines to arrive at their destination. Because there is a build-up of forces for a land operation.

Matter of fact Trump have well understanding about how market react to geopolitical signaling but it is normal practice on political communication to hold or to release political statement on specific timing based on its impact considerations. Even Trump is an anomaly to US's politic but from what I learned mostly he use coercive diplomacy with full of ambiguity strategy as his style so his rival hqard to predict his next move. Tug of war strategies usually start by creating shock for high pressure and then show deescalation statement or action for cooling down situation, maybe brinkmanship is his negotiation style because its create uncertainty which mean leverage for Trump. Talking about market, Trump negotiation style opposite with global financial system which depend on predictability, forward guidance policy and stability expectation, so everytime Trump give spontaneous statement or action causing high volatility and its affected all sector on global financial structure. Maybe other president will be collapsed or stressed if using Trumps's negotiation style but its a proove that Trump has high risk acceptance. I'm not saying that military Industrial Complex and Oil industry lobbying Trump to create war for their profit but as President Eisenhower explained MIC create incentive to maintain and escalate conflict which will ensuring their production cycle continuity. So Trump confrontative policy is in line with the interests of Trump's campaign donors, the majority of whom are oil and arms companies. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coercion_(international_relations) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brinkmanship

That is what you get from someone who is way too stupid to the point of his own mother coming to agreement. All he dies is moan, and cry like a big baby online, declaring himself winner, insulting his allies, asking for their help and also lying about how he's in contact with the Iranian country. His recent post about being in contact with the Iranians are not true, they're mainly written to manipulate the markets. Majority of Iranian leaders are mathematicians with PhD degrees, you should expect more calculative movements. Mind you, they're set for a long war according to their media. You can only be deceived by Trump when you want to be, it's not that difficult to detect how much of a liar and terrible human he is.

I don't think people should believe what Trump said during the war, since it may contain deception. For example, "We ceasefire for five days," and then when the Iranian leaders meet, he will bomb the shit out of them. Instead, focus more on what has already happened, or on third-party reports on the war, to get better knowledge of the situation.
The US not (yet) striking many vital infrastructure sites is perhaps for humanitarian reasons, as they don't want the Iranian people to suffer more. But if the people in power behave like Hamas, then I'm afraid only destruction awaits.

I don't think that is correct, it could just be a way of giving room for negotiation rather than using force. He claimed that talks was ongoing with Iran which Iran have come out to deny. Today we are hearing that Isreal already started bombing those energy infrastructure of Iran so that means all discussions would have been null and void. I don't see any settlement soon, the war has passed the phase of easy settlement and on the side of Isreal, it is pretty obvious they have decided that it is a fight to finish. We should prepare for the worst begause that is inevitable, Iran will drag the war for long and the pain will be felt by the rest of the world.
