In a nutshell chasing temporary gratification doesn't lead to long and lasting profits, it is better to be patient enough to be able to get the best out of Bitcoin. When it comes to short term investments I don't really categorize it as an investment anymore because that's similar to trading and compared to long term investment it's quite risky.

Investing in Bitcoin requires patience and consistency, focusing on Short term investments isn't really going to give you significant results because Bitcoin is mainly for long term investment, you might end up losing when you try to chase quick profits.

Every investment has it's own peculiarity, both long term investment and short term (trading) and anyone could make profits from it. Though as you mentioned, trading has a bigger risk compared to long term investment mostly based on it's short term volatility but that could go either way, profit or loss so it's best to consider both ways.

I have a couple of people who would choose to focus on short term profits and trade on massive margins (N/B: These people trade with what they can afford to lose) but this is not an advise to anyone new to bitcoin investment. It's best to choose what works best for you and decide how much you can sacrifice while considering investment.

You said "every investment" went ahead to mention trading. Let me clear you on that dude, it's either you invest or trade with Bitcoin, however there's long and short term invest, long-term (10 years and above), short-term (4 years) however traders are those who take profits quickly (below the full Bitcoin cycle).
Profits can be made from both, that's true but it's not guaranteed and tbe chances of an investor getting a reward is far better than trading, trading is more complicated and riskier.
