Why I don't want to focus on short-term profits when investing in Bitcoin.

Although this is a fictional story,many people say that something like this actually happened.I heard this fictional story a few years ago.I am sharing it here just as an example. I will come to the main discussion later.

Once an Arab traveler lost his way in the vast desert.When the tired man was looking for a way out, he was very close to dying of hunger,thirst and the sun, when he saw a hut in the distance. He somehow reached the hut and saw a hand pump inside.He was hungry and tired like crazy,the man started pumping the hand pump with his own hands, but he realized that the pump had dried up long ago. He gave up in complete despair, lay down there and looked up and saw a bottle hanging from the ceiling. He took the bottle in his hand and saw that there was water in the bottle. Just before he was about to drink the water, he saw that it was written on the bottle that,,,If you pour water from this water bottle and pump it, the water will come out of the hand pump again and after you drink the water and quench your thirst,this bottle must be filled again. So that the next traveler can pump again with this water.He was very surprised and kept swinging between faith and disbelief.The man did not understand He could not decide whether to quench his thirst with this water or to try to get some water by pouring it into the hand pump.He thought that if the water did not come out even after pouring it into the hand pump,then he would definitely die.What would happen if he drank this little water himself? Then no one else would be able to drink it. If he could pump the water into the hand pump and get it out,then he could take it with him and leave it for other travelers. After thinking about it for a long time,he finally poured the water into the hand pump and started pumping it. Then he saw that the water was coming out little by little.And when he had drunk the water and quenched his thirst,he filled the bottle again. Then when he came out of the hut,he suddenly felt that he also needed to leave some message for others. He went back again and wrote a small note on the bottom of the water bottle that,"You can believe that what is written here is true. That is how I got it."

If you pay attention,,you will see that we have to go through this same situation regularly.When we pursue something big in life, try to achieve something big. Then we have to sacrifice our short-term comforts and joys.

It is like a little water in a water bottle. If someone drinks the water just for short-term pleasure, then he will never be able to draw water from the pump.

In the same way, when we give more priority to short-term profit in Bitcoin investment, in some cases, profit may be made. But if we can sacrifice that small profit, which is not a sure profit but can also be a loss, then a big foundation will be created in the long run like drawing water from a hand pump. When we continue to invest with long-term faith, only then will we be able to use the main power of investment in our favor. And from investment, when we are not physically able to earn during retirement, we will be able to fully live our future life.

 Just as a little water in a bottle can only quench your immediate thirst, short-term gains can only provide short-term satisfaction, and can also create stress if you lose. But it is the courage, patience, and faith to pour that little water into the pump that ultimately opens the door to great gains.

And many people have already succeeded in investing in Bitcoin. And they have proven their faith and success in investing in Bitcoin, just like the man who wrote the proof of faith on the note at the bottom of the bottle.

Basically in everything in life chasing or focusing on the short-term wins or pleasure wouldn’t lead you to success and it can even lead you to losses along the way, let’s even take for instance the fiction you gave above…assuming the traveler drank the water in the bottle, I doubt the water is enough to quench his thirst and satisfy him.

This fiction covers area way more than just believing and having faith, its shows that before you can have what you want or desire in life or investment, you need patience and perseverance to achieve it.

Op nice story. Logically it doesn't make sense to pour water In s pump and expect to get more out of it when you can just drink the one you see and hope to find another one else where, but sure that's what's life is made up of, things that doesn't seem logical true might be the right part whereas if you follow the normal average pattern of anyone you might end up living an unfulfilled life of just survival without making impact. They say givers never lack and some how this can be related other things not just giving money alone, give your time and effort to learn or develop something like your bitcoin investment you may end up with huge profits if bitcoin keeps on increasing to the up side.

The way you linked the short term profits to the Man’s quenching of his thirst with the little water in the bottle….. if I heard this story I wouldn’t have reasoned it like that.
In life it’s always important to look at the bigger picture, Dream Big, Set high standards and goals for yourself and be disciplined enough to achieve it.

If you focus on short term profits then it is no longer investing in Bitcoin but trading. It is trading thar is done with the hope of profiting from the market within a very short time whereas investing will require giving the market enough time to generate the profits. It is good you are focus on the long term which is actually the right way to go about investing in Bitcoin. I enjoyed the story and I also learned something from the story. It is like a man eating the mother hen and still hope to get more chicks. There many examples and explanations that we have seen in this forum as a whole that should be enough to teach everyone the importance of planting a seed instead of eating e.g coconut only has two options, either you eat it or you plant it. Eating will quench today's hunger, but planting will quench tomorrow's hunger. Buying bitcoin is one thing, having the ability to hold is another thing.

With the little that I know, Bitcoin investment is for a long-term and once any investor fail to invest in that manner, it means the investors is now doing a different thing Bitcoin investment, as a newbie, I have learned that for anyone to benefit even though we know that there is no guarantee anywhere but we must have the mindset to invest for a long-term to get the reward there in, as a newbie that is the way I have taken, short term profit can mislead any investor from continuing their investment for a long-term, for this, I advice my fellow newbies not to invest for short term because Bitcoin is a good asset that should be mainly invested for long-term.

This also points to eliminating greed, if we are less greedy, we would be able to invest and allow our investments grow gradually for a long-term and we can reap the benefits, greedy people are concerned with present rewards, and miss out on bigger long-term gratifications and that is the case with bitcoin, those who sold early missed out on bigger profits in the long-term.

Going for quick gains doesn't really profit as much as long term rewards and a lot of people have been able to make significant profits from running a long term investment. it is possible to be in profit when you invest for a short term but this doesn't really give you the results of long term holders.
