Rearranging the words I mean here is for security reason if you don’t know if the person you are given the phrase to engrave for you have knowledge about Bitcoin or not; the rearrangement will be based on you. You can just reshuffle the words in the way only you can understand so that the words arrangement will not be the right arrangement as at the time of engraving so that who ever have access to the seed phrase cannot get access to your wallet since the arrangement is not correct; only you should know the right arrangement of the words for security reasons.
Rearranging of seed phrase isn't a standard way of wallet backup, anything can go wrong in the pattern of arrangement when you are ready to spend Bitcoin from the seed phrase but if you want to do it, that's fine, it's up to you to remember the pattern of arrangements you used but it's not the best. If you can do a proper back up and hide your seed phrase from the public, that's enough unless you live in a place where Bitcoin is banned and illegal.
I think, it’s sensible to consider this as a beginner. especially if i’m going to store it long term, as paper can tear or burn. But steel is a sensible place to store it. I also think we need to double check that we’ve written it correctly when engraving it onto the steel plate. Because a single incorrect or missing word will completely block access to the funds... My think is not to keep the steel in a single place. It’s safer to split it into parts and store them in different secure locations.
Are you considering splitting the seed phrase you’ve engraved on the steel plate into parts and storing them in different places or do you plan to make do with a single physical backup
If you have safe location to do this, that's absolutely fine but if one location is compromised, just know that your Bitcoin can't be recover. It's easy to secure one or two place for your seed phrase back up but not necessarily for the split up, you can back up the seed phrase and hide each copy in two different locations so that if something happened that you couldn't access one, you can have another location as back up to restore your seed phrase.
