Yesterday, I was reading this thread about plinko and I played it for the first time and subconsciously you play to hit those high multipliers (x1000, x10000) but of course reality is different, and you are gonna fall short, only exception being a rare luck.

The point being, this reminded me of idiom, 'dangling a carrot',

To try to entice one with the promise of a reward.

Do you agree with this idiom pertaining to plinko (I have little doubt in there)? Do you have any other idioms to share that are suitable to the situations you see while gambling? If so, mind sharing?

We all know that reality never always aligns with what we want, it always has its own plans and if we are lucky enough to be included in that plan then good for us, otherwise it's always going to fuck with us and all we can do is keep trying with the hope of actually hitting luck eventually.

True, this words are very touching and a warning to those that have decided to embrace gambling with the mindset to make it through it or to become rich through it, which doesn't work like that, because gambling is never designed to be for profit only but to get entertained by it and to win by luck. And if most people who are into gambling understand that its better to also gamble with the amount you can afford to lose, the better for them as it will help and prevent them from falling into pitfalls that will lead them into gambling irresponsibly.

Honestly I have to say that for me there is no special or popular idiom that can be given to you in the game of plinko, I am almost tired of that one game and to date have never managed to get that damn ball into the x1k box let alone the x10k box.

I've done some common idioms in plinko games like.
• do, change significant innovations and situations, by pressing the ball falling at the same time, unsuccessfully.
• another idiom that I do with something faster I hope that way the ball quickly one or the other can fall into the box x1k nonsense, zilch.

The point is that in the plinko game there are no expressive nuances that can refer to you in plinko gambling activities, as you say luck is on your side, that's it.

The fact is that x1000 multipliers in plinko are highlighted as if their chance is almost equal to other smaller multipliers, which misleads naive gamblers.
As for thoughtful players, they all understand that such chances are very minimal, and you can lose at least a thousand dollars and not these multipliers will not fall out. This is similar to the example when guys buy lottery tickets and hope to win the jackpot, although this is an incredibly rare event that may not happen for years.

It’s really sad but that is why is mainly for entertainment so when the worst happens it won’t get to us that much , people usually say, it’s better to go harder or go home , meaning go harder on your bet and go home empty if doesn’t come , but gambling is not a job that brings daily or monthly income , it’s a game of luck , if many has such mindset they won’t go harder, indeed reality  is different,  when it has to do with gambling , our expectations often don’t comes as we wish or expect , so it’s best we go with a fun mindset while hoping for a profit too .

There's this idom common amongst the gamblers I find in a casino close to me, "No Risk, No Reward " this is almost like a mantra for them, it motivates them to keep pushing with placing multiple best which they call the "Grind" for them there are on the grind everyday and they need to risk something to be rewarded with something and so even with casino or sport games you see them never giving up but making that multiple attempt to making sure they get a reward at the end of the day as they are gambling. Obviously these people do jot gamble for funa nd so these motivating idoms keep them going at some point.

I think the idiom "play stupid games, get stupid prizes" is more appropriate here 
No negativity towards this particular gaming site and those who like slots  It's understandable that some people enjoy monotonous activities (pressing a single button or even setting it to auto-press) that help them turn off their brains while simultaneously dreaming of a big win. But for me, this kind of gambling seems very strange, I'm used to a greater illusion of control - choosing fields in roulette or choosing which team will win in betting.

I agree with your comparison, as multiple examples of these kinds of games could be considered examples of "dangling a carrot." For instance, the big multiplier is just a bucket that makes you want to play again, while in actuality, it is a big bucket of nothing most of the time.

I can think of other idioms that are reflective of gambling as well. "Chasing losses" is a way of betting to try and make back your losses, and it pulls a lot of people further into the betting. "The house always wins" is a popular idiom that reminds people that the casino always ends up winning. "Easy come, easy go" is also appropriate, as money that is easily won is quickly lost.

I think these idioms reflect a lot of experience, especially with the gap of greed and reality that gambling demonstrates.

Since you mention this, I like to think it would be nice if chances to hit each multiplier are made obvious.

Let the chips fall where they may - basically means accepting whatever results your bets give, loss or win, and not controlling anything, just play and pray for luck.  This is probably more meaningful to those who love to place bets just for fun, people who don't care about the outcome. Although I'm not sure if everyone should have this mentality, 'cause I think it's even more problematic if a gambling addict chooses to leave everything to destiny whenever they try to burn their bankroll.

Hit the jackpot, this is the common idiom that suggest how someone could win a huge amount of money when gambling and made it a success, this has also been a target of most of the gamblers we do see, because I said having fun when gambling, we also desire to hit the jackpot by winning Big.

The whole fact about gambling is that it's a game of luck. Every other thing is just a statement that comes from within us which point to the fact that we want to win and say we try to motivate ourselves to believe that winning is absolutely possible regardless the extent of loss.

"Lucky to have won? Zoom off" is one that's completely true because we have a lot of gamblers that do win while gambling but at the end of it all, drawing the line and deciding that they are going to give it a stop becomes the most deficult thing to do.

This is the most common idiom; if not all gamblers have indirectly or directly taken this action. On multiple occasion i have increased my stake when I'm winning, my staking power also increases.

I do agree with the idiom completely because that's how the situation looks with plinko and some other games too with a high number of multiplayer offered by the casino just so that the player will be enticed and chase towards the multiplayer but they won't reach if before they can run out of their bankroll.

The other idiom I remembered is the one you'd say they "Move the goalposts”

In this case, the condition of the game is not being changed when a player is reaching the target, but from the on set, the casino has already set the house edge so that players can not hit the x10, 000 multiplayer. Knowing their house edge won't even let you hit the big multiplayer, they still put it there so you will chase it.

I am not that good at writing ideoms but if it is proverb that will not be a problem for me. For gamblers that are trying to make money from betting should always make sure that they gambler wisely without trying too much to become profitable from gambling.
It is not really easy to be having winning streaks and those that had tried that on a different attempts must have a story to tell.
