Would've been much better if topics on Politics & Society, Economics and similar sections are mostly Bitcoin/crypto related.
Since this is a Bitcoin forum, I think all or most of the topics and discussions should be tied to Bitcoin or crypto. If you are discussing about US economy or politics, it should be related or somehow tied to Bitcoin. We could also discuss economics and politics that are purely Bitcoin based. I believe this will help create stronger bubble around the community and increase the value of Bitcoin, as long as members with higher influences aren't too negative about positive topics/discussions in the sections
Discussions or topics that are overly non crypto or bitcoin maybe considered spam unless they are very necessary. They are kind of stealing value from the forum... The benefit should atleast be mutual rather than parasitic

The section is called 'other'. Which means other discussions.

Although Meta is on the board, but Politics & Society, Beginners & Help, Off-topic, Serious discussion, Ivory Tower and Archival are on the section also.

So everything that should be on off-topic board should be about bitcoin related? How about Serious discussion and Ivory Tower, the discussions there should be about bitcoin? Topics moved to or saved on Archival should only be about bitcoin?

My rhetorical questions are enough as answers.

You are wrong, politics must not be Bitcoin related, it has things it covers that must not be Bitcoin. Although there will always be intersection between politics and Bitcoin but suggesting that political discussion in this forum have to be Bitcoin related is wrong and completely unnecessary.

I like as the forum is structured to make room for discussion in virtually every area of life because there is life outside Bitcoin. If you insist on seeing political discussions that are Bitcoin related, simply start the discussion be creating the relevant topic.

The Bitcoin discussion is for all Bitcoin discussion having other boards like politics and economy should not be forcefully tied to Bitcoin and they are important. This may be a bitcoin forum but economy, politics and other boards that may not be related directly to Bitcoin are very important, some political and economical issues can shape Bitcoin or events around Bitcoin.

Everything on the forum is well organized and discussions are happening in the right sections where they belong. If someone mistakenly posts in the wrong section, moderators usually move it to the correct place. All the sections in the forum are clearly arranged and each one is being used properly based on what it’s meant for.

But from what you’re saying, it feels like you’re trying to mix everything together. It’s not really right to combine bitcoin discussions with political structures like that. It’s better to keep things in their proper place and discuss each topic where it actually belongs.

Just check out the older posts to see how fun, independent minded and ideological the creators were compare them to what we have today  they are mostly people defending or promoting fiat system

I don't see any problem with discussing non-bitcoin topics on this forum under ''other''.
Bitcoin is obviously the main topic of this forum and probably more than 90% of all posts on this forum are related to btc topics, directly or indirectly.
After all, many other internet forums are organized in a similar way and have an offtopic or "other" section.
On that side, this forum fully fulfills its main goal and purpose.
However, why can't members discuss non-bitcoin topics? New members, who don't know anything about bitcoin or crypto topics yet, find it very difficult to participate in discussions at first because they lack the knowledge and experience to do so.
This way, they can still join in on some discussion and feel welcome on this forum, until they gain some basic knowledge and experience about bitcoin or crypto so they can participate in discussions on other parts of the forum.
Sometimes even older members get tired of constantly discussing bitcoin or crypto and want to discuss with other members economic or political topics, which can indirectly also affect bitcoin, its price increase or decrease, regulation, etc.
Ultimately, everyone is free to read, follow or discuss what interests them on this forum.

If you had framed your topic this way, it would have been understood better. This forum, from what I understood, is made in such a way that everything can be discussed and not only Bitcoin. This is the reason you have local boards where issues not even related to Bitcoin are permitted to be discussed just to make here as interactive and entertaining as possible. If you even visit the WO, you will notice that sometimes topics related to health cover a full page which  I don't see anything wrong with as long as knowledge is being shared.

I understood your point completely from your latest response but I will implore you to understand that Bitcoin have passed that early stage where it was a culture for a handful of people, we are at a stage where Bitcoin is going or aspiring to go mainstream, so the discussions in a forum like here can deviate to other things that makes life worth living.

Well, I don't know about you OP, but I usually rely on this forum for news feed and current trends in bitcoin, politics, technology, etc. It is like using a stone to hit two birds (or more).

Note that I'm not trying to quote you wrong but I believe not everything should be all about bitcoin, if the political discussion relates to bitcoin very good, what if not? Very good too. What is most important here is quality.

I observed something, Most boards and sections have a brief description on it, except for politics & society and beginners & Help, maybe adding a brief description to it may help users to avoid creating this kind of thread in the future.

I understand that you mean to focus on the context of each topic and discussion that should relate to Bitcoin. But the forum has already sorted and navigated everything well. We, all the forum users, know our interest in Bitcoin and crypto. But the forum gives us the option for freedom of opinion, of course in accordance with the rules that have been established.
I don’t have a problem with discussions outside the context of Bitcoin, as long as it is in the right place. Just look at the gambling board, does everyone discuss their bets with Bitcoin?

While I would agree with the notion that there were more great and educational threads in the past here than now, and also that this is bitcoin forum which be a place for bitcoin enthusiasts, I think we would all agree that we shouldn’t be hostile to other currencies even if they are against bitcoin.

Bitcoin itself isn’t in any competition with any currency and it’s a decentralized network as such its forum actually should also have such tolerance. But let ask you OP have you seeing any bitcoin slander here that wasn’t addressed?

From your perspective you rarely want anything here other than bitcoin discussions, but even on bitcoin networks there are room to others like ordinals, this tells you the freedom that bitcoin brings

Theymos is probably going to ignore this, I mean, he wants the forum to be as free as possible, and I assume that includes what is being discussed. Requiring every discussion in the whole forum to be at least crypto and bitcoin related feels very restrictive. If you want discussions that are related to crypto and Bitcoin, maybe sticking to boards where the discussion needs to be Bitcoin and crypto related might be a good idea for you.

If we go by your perspective then the crypto discussion or altcoins discussion are not to exist either, don’t you think so? Because if every discussion must be tied to bitcoin then all the altcoin discussions that we do have without mentioning anything related to bitcoin shouldn’t existed as BITCOINTALK is concerned.

Everything must not be bitcoin or crypto related, as long as it belongs to where it’s discussed, it is quite right but I am not also disputing the fact you are trying to point out, some discussions are out of the crypto context or bitcoin context in some boards but that’s the category they actually belong.

There is no need to invent bike when it'salready inveneted. I don't think that we need to make such changes. It's Bitcoin forum, so, maybe we need to remove Altcoin boards? Look, open any random forum, no matter about what and you will see that they have boards not related to main theme of fourm. If we would discuss Economics or Politics only through crypto perspective it would be half dead boards.

Offcourse that in early days things were different. There was no signature campaigns and people who came here just to make money.. I didn't even noticed that many people here defending or promoting fiat system.
