I curiously want to know.

1. Has anyone here thought about or built a trading strategy script, trading signal tool, or trading bot using the different available AI tools?

2. If yes, did you manage to build something that would at least run?

3. What challenges did you face while using AI?

4. What is the best recommended AI tool for coding for someone who does not have a lot of programming language knowledge?

I've never tried making a trading signal tool or a bot, but for a trading strategy script using the Pine Script test on TradingView, I use the AI Studio on Google to generate a Pine Script strategy and test it on TradingView because I can get fast results testing it and how the strategy works; it is similar to an automated backtesting tool.

However, I don't use that Pine Script right now but I use those script to get some idea to test out some strategies using Pine Script.
About the AI studio, it looks like ChatGPT but I think it follows what I ask for since the scripts it generates are usually working.

I was thinking about trading signals but I don't think this can be easy; it might require a subscription with unlimited API requests because I currently can't find a free API to provide a signal.
My signal that I'm looking for is to give me a signal when the 50EMA and 200EMA cross and some alert for oversold and overbought and some few signals to other indicators like MFI and RSI.

About trading Bot, I don't have a plan to make one; I am more comfortable trading manually.

I've do away with any AI or trading tool because I've tried it several times but it end me up either loosing or profits like the usual days when luck has to be the determinant of my trading outcome.
I had very bad experience at almost cases I tried using the bot for trading and I don't trust that there's ever going to be anyone worth to be trusted.
It's better use your psychological ability to trade than relying on the AI because you can revert your strategies when market phase challenges too and would also be crucial for risk management.

I actually tried something similar before, using AI to take some futures trades, but honestly, it almost wrecked my account. I went in with that mindset of trying to compound trades and thinking I had figured out a working strategy. What I used to do was take screenshots of charts on different timeframes like 15m, 1h, 4h & 1D, then I upload them to an AI tool and ask it to analyze the market structure and predict the possible direction based on the 1h timeframe. Then it would suggest whether to go long or short, along with stop loss levels.

At first, it kind of looked promising because I hit a few winning trades even though the profit was not that much because I capped my TP at 30%, but after a while, the market kept going against the predictions. I even found myself trying to justify the losses and staying hopeful in a kind of delusional way.But bro as time goes on, my account started going red and I had to stop. So, from my experience, I think AI can assist, but relying on it fully for signals without your own solid understanding is a very risky thing, believe me.

I'm not sure if this is still relevant, but I used Gekko and the likes of it in the past. It's probably not as advanced as the current LLM tool, which can dish out a simple algorithm if you're patient with it, but I'm sure tools like Gekko would be a good start to compare whether your AI script is good or not. If you're just using AI to build a signal tool that tracks prices and notifies you, I don't think it's that attractive considering there are other options easier to use, even though it's probably limited by API rate or something similar.

As for a trading bot, judging from how some projects use AI to market their tools, I'd expect them to utilize this stuff to some extent too. Although I'm not sure how effective it is compared to paying a real dev to build your code from scratch.

Trading strategy script is only for experts, I have seen people using it, they are trading multiple things so that's why they have multiple monitors too, so that's why they are using strategy's script, but using trading bots is normal, we don't have bots that can trade on their own, but we can train them with out strategy if we could do that easily.

I have never thought about it, because I never needed it.

Using AI, I faced uncertainty and fear that I don't experience when trading by myself, but maybe with more expertise I will trade freely.

For programming you can use ChatGPT or Claude , both are good, you just have to spend some time, I have used Chatgpt the most, but Claud is also the best out there.

I haven't really built anything with Ai technology but learning how to apply trading bots is still a skill in the making.
Ai has made a whole lot of things better and the challenges one would face when using or learning how to use them, might be very minimal as compared to learning from scratch from a tutor the old way.
A good device is needed to achieve this desire to build sites with Ai and access to the Internet too.

However to make things much more easier for you, I summarized some tools and how they could best be applied to achieve your aim of building a trading script, trading signal tool or trading bots by customization to help a novice without real coding knowledge. They include;

Replit agent which is best for building and hosting small to medium projects.
Then there's Cursor for learning the craft and professional development,
Lastly, there's lovable/bolt for Rapidly launching web apps/MVPs.

I took the liberty of including some links to visit inorder to learn more:

Yes, I used to do that (just as an experiment with a friend). Sending a core prompt, taking a chart screenshot, and then AI will send a TA explanation and setup signal (TP/SL) with a confidence level. Evaluation results showed approximately 60% accuracy of the AI signals.

Quote
3. What challenges did you face while using AI?
The market structure is dynamic: every few days, especially if the SL is touched twice in a row, we need to improve the core prompt.

Quote
4. What is the best recommended AI tool for coding for someone who does not have a lot of programming language knowledge?
You can utilize a chat-based AI (which supports image reading). All you need to learn is creating the prompt; no programming language is required unless you want to create a portable GUI app.

Yes I have tried multiple times actually. I've been utilizing different AI like ChatGPT and Claude, I'm not really a technical person and I only know basic code and language and I utilize these AI's to help me build my own trading bot with my own strategy that was later on improved by them, since they've seen flaws I haven't seen. To answer your question:

1. Yes I used ChatGPT and Claude
2. It actually run pretty well at first and it even connects to my Telegram to keep track of my open positions, or what are currently happening in my bot, basically an update channel.
3. A lot of errors in code due to complicated strategy that I want to achieve but then later on managed to fix by simplifying my strategy.
4. ChatGPT is great for general knowledge or ask for good strategy but for coding I'll go with Claude, since Claude managed to fix the problem that ChatGPT gave to me but I'm not sure if the ChatGPT manged to improved their AI now to compete with Claude.

Quick Question: Did you use Codex by OpenAI to write the code only use the chatgpt interface to get the code? If you did, just know that the chatgpt UI is generally a general purpose LLM chatbot. It can do basic coding but it would struggle when complexity starts increasing. I use claude code and claude and their current models are currently the best in the world for coding activities. Imo, what comes closest is Codex not chatgpt.

okay so just wanted to ask while we are in this topic also.
since you ask this AI to code for you with the instructions you provide on chatgpt,  did anyone ever deploy the code to create this AI and use it in your tradingview?

i'm also curious because if this is all that is needed i think i can instruct the ChatGPT to create code instructing tradingview account to do this and that when such thing happen and then enter a position. exit when indicator signals this in the 4hr chart but if not, do this instead.

is this possible?

Tried once, it didn't really work out. There is one huge roadblock with using AI for trading or cooking up trading signal such as limited context or the AI is biased.
When AI is hallucinating, how are you able to figure out it is hallucinating? I think its difficult to know that and you're going back to square one doing analysis by your own just to confirm the strategy (backtesting).

It's not recommended from my experience, just waste of time and waste of money because cooking up strategy will be token consuming especially if you used latest model like Opus.

Does TradingView support trading directly now? Last time I used them, they were just for charting and TA. I used to open 2 browser windows when I used them before. I guess the realistic approach is to use an API to get charts data from TradingView API and use your exchange API to execute the order, provided it has such capabilities. Not sure if we can easily tell AI to code such things if they don't have data about them before though. CMIIW.

I tried trading trough AI and offering good concept when analyzing about which one coins have to buy, firstly the AI help us analyze about how much price of the coins to buy and giving the option to cut loss with range around 10% until 20%. Several time the signal from AI helpful but since the world condition not conducive difficult fully use AI as signal or indicator for trading in cryptocurrency.

I don't think wrong trade in cryptocurrency using AI but don't forget to make your self analyze, its important for completing the research at any coins have to buy and don't fully trading by using AI because its human tools and sometime could be mistake when predicting the cryptocurrency coins price.

No, I am not using AI to trade and just use on my skill. I don't wants losing the chance to learn more and only using the tools.

Yes, tools helps you to analyze but if you don't learn and sharpen your skills by learning more, you will not know how to use the other tools.

The challenge using AI are how to operate the AI well and without more knowledge and understanding how AI runs, you will difficult to make a profit.

I don't know the recommended AI tool for coding but you can search from search engine. You can checking on other sites but don't forget researching on the tools before you use it.

At first glance, this sounds like a completely reasonable idea, but in reality, I want to say that there are many nuances to using AI. After all, I often use AI for self-development, engaging in actual dialogues with it by asking a lot of questions. However, I also want to point out that while AI is very intelligent, it can sometimes say something ridiculous, and if you provide it with facts, it will correct itself. I believe that AI can sometimes provide dangerous misinformation. Just like creating a completely ineffective script that will cost you a lot. Are you ready for that?

1. This is just backtest and i would say alpha test program for myself and my LLM I do tried different LLM from gemini, claude, qwen and Chatgpt to test out which the best AI for trading using same prompt and different token. But this isnt fully automated I just ask them whenever try to trade so its manual input and answer.

2. The result is still mixed sometimes I won sometimes I lose, I just want to try 1 month, if you curios there is also a backest using real money here on coinglass .https://www.coinglass.com/ai/hyperliquid

3. Prompt problem and sometimes they using old data like news for couple week ago if you ask fundamental analyst

4. Since I do manually I dont really know what the best for code but some people said Claude is the best for it

I don't have my own Automated strategy but I was following some YouTubers, and they were sharing their own strategies but they were not Automated, because we know most of the strategies are self-built using indicators from TradingView, and those indicators are combined into a single script by copying their source script, which we can copy from the snippets after selecting an indicator and what that script after integration gives us signals like buy now and sell now.

There is nothing so unique about it, basically that trading bot was running on oversold and over bought indicators mostly RSI but it seems very convincing after implementation but when we actually speculate the signals we realize how unreliable they are. Therefore if we are using someone's trading bot we must avoid them or give it a test drive before actually using it with real money.
