But to be frankly, nobody is stopping anybody from using pidgin English for this our local board, because we don talk about this topic countless number of times, and a conclusion was made that both the pidgin and better English is generally acceptable here. Because one thing certain here be say you can't force anybody to use pidgin if they choose and decide to use the normal English for communication here. So abeg make we no drag this case any further again. Because if you think you have any cockroach for your cupboard then stick to the pidgin you think will prevent you from been exposed. But however, don't forget say we get A I or ChatGPT wey fit translate our pidgin to normal English.

Why does bringing a dead horse matter here again, I don't see a reason why having pidgin is a serious pain in your bone, honestly, taking it down to the Nigerian officials and recognized language, it is an English-speaking country, you can quote me anywhere, because we have three main languages, Hausa, Yoruba, and Igbo. In contrast, the general official language is English, pidgin is just a way for those who cannot speak good or correct English.


Moreover, this issue has been resolved over the time, speak what is best for you to communicate with, don't be selfish because what goes around can also come around, not every Nigerian speak pidgin or even understand it, so stop talking from the south south perspective, be considerate as well and consider others, I don't know if you noticed that having both English and pidgin has also helped other none Nigerians reputable members develop interest on our board and merit post here, all because they can see the quality in what we deliver.

I don think this thing before but I come realize say we no fit be like the other local board because for our country we get three major languages and pidgin self no even they among the language and our official language for naija Na still English so e go really hard to say make we Dey only speak pidgin for this local board. If you look other local board you go realise say na their country official language them dey use communicate just be say e no be English Na why.

Well, in my own opinion, this matter na better movements for all of us wey dey here, why I talk so be say, e been get one thing wey I notice wey don tay here, plenty people wey dey other local board dey come here come dey follow our movements of all the Naija people, and the reason why them they understand am be say we dey use correct English language and we dey use pidgin language to communicate here, if to say we dry only use pidgin communicate here, e go hard make them grab wetin we dey talk. Ok for example now, our people no fit enter any other board just like that because we no dey understand wetin them they talk and them no dey use English language communicate, before you know, any small thing wey happen them go say na Naija guys, they no dey ever praise us for good, since them know some things wey they happen here. This is very good, it means English makes us more relevant and make other people to visit what we are posting on our local board.

Why these lies? All of us on this forum can understand English and Pidgin, but I have seen people that said they prefer just English. Be using your Pidgin to post, no one will go against you. Also you should not go against people that are using English.

This is a dead topic on arrival. OP, you have been in this forum for few years and you won't tell me that you are unaware that this topic have been deliberated countless times and the moderator and some other respected forum members aired their opinion on why the local board can use the Naija pidgin and English language together. I think if theymos made it necessary that every local board must speak their local language maybe we might not have our local board today. Perhaps, many region in Nigeria speaks the pidgin in different intonation which means that if the local board is made strictly for pidgin, we may not really be understanding ourselves again due to how hard it will be to understand what the next person wrote in pidgin. You talked about pidgin being used in messaging apps and social media, this forum is far different from social media platform so let that sink.

However, we are not the only local board speaking pure english in the local board, you can visit the india local board and see what language they speak.

P.S: The local board is not only made for Nigerian citizens, people from other local boards or countries has the liberty to come and participate in threads in the local board inasmuch as they are not breaking forum rules or the local board rules. Consider locking this topic!

Here is what I just have to say regarding this issue, just try make use of AI and relates with the bot for a pidgin language interaction with you and see how it can flow well, this shows that even the pidgin some are claiming to go for is now available on the internet it can be translated back to English, you can quote me wrong, if not then try to test this and see how the advanced technology now speak pidgin fluently an interpret it in correct English.

So definitely even if other boards come, there is still a high tendency that they will eventually understand what we are saying. Firstly, what's the need introducing the topic with English, where you thinking people won't understand? Probably, maybe not! I believe that everyone has a choice of language at every point in time and freedom of language can also be allowed. If I'm a Nigerian and based in diaspora, am I not allowed to be in the Nigerian Local board because I was probably raised in a region where I didn't learn how to speak pigin? If my dad is in the elite class that I was not exposed to street life that I couldn't learn pigin, how will I be able to speak here, does it make me a non Nigerian? It shouldn't be!

No matter wetin the poll results bring, person wey no sabi Pigin no fit use am. E fit be the minority wey go vote against am wey go be victim. Make we no take because of intruders come dey segregate against our brothers. Person wey Sabi English go use English and person wey Sabi pigin go use pigin. There are still other things wey fit show whether person na real Nigerian or intruder.
