Most crypto trackers require an account, sync your private holdings to their servers, and sell your data to advertisers or third parties. If they get hacked bad people will know what you have...

I built HODLings as a light weight privacy-first alternative.

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT:

 - Zero Tracking/Analytics: There are no accounts, no "Sign in with Google/Facebook", and no ads.
 - On-Device Storage: Your portfolio is stored locally on your device.
 - No "backend": the UI fetches the data either from CoinGecko's API or from GitHub, which stores pre-computed reference data.
 - News TL;DR: an integrated news feed that provides news summaries and market sentiment indicators without clickbait.
 - Performance & Diversification: charts and diversification breakdowns—features.
 - Market overview: track the performance of major crypto assets (1d, 7d, 30d delta), bookmark assets, fear & greed index, market heatmap.
 - Visuals: Dark and Light mode.
 - Android & iOS versions.
 - 1$ one-off payment to cover hosting, domain registrations, & iOS/Android store fees. No subscriptions, in-app purchases, upgrades, and ads

TECHNICAL DETAILS:

The app is built with web tech (React, MUI) and fetches real-time market data through CoinGecko's API and from GitHub. Reference data stored on GitHub is refreshed every few hours. Because there is no central server for user data, your privacy isn't just a promise — it’s a technical constraint.

I’d love to hear your feedback, especially on the UI or if there are specific privacy features you'd like to see added.

I'm happy to answer any questions about the tech or the "why" behind the project!
