Hello,

I’m trying to identify a possible 2009/2010 Bitcoin-era mail-order source that may have been connected to
New Liberty Standard or a similar very early Bitcoin operation.

The lead appears to have come from a Dallas-area free print publication that discussed Bitcoin, the financial crisis, and how Bitcoin could be acquired by mail through a name and likely a P.O. Box.

The period I’m trying to narrow down is when Bitcoin was roughly in the $0.003–$0.006 range.

My main goal is to identify the publication itself and obtain a copy of that issue, or at least the publication name and approximate date.

If anyone from the early Bitcoin era remembers:

- any individuals or services offering Bitcoin by mail or check
- any references to Bitcoin in free print publications
- or any Dallas-area newspaper-style / rack-distributed publications that may have covered Bitcoin that early

…I’d really appreciate any clues, names, issue dates, or direction.

Thank you.

I don't know about P.O. Box but about New Liberty Standard exchange and exchange rates, you can find information there

On 2009-10-05 the market price of Bitcoin is first established at $0.000764/BTC by New Liberty Standard, the first Bitcoin exchange ($1.00 buys 1309.03 BTC.) The exchange rate history is available at two archived pages: first, second. Their last known exchange rate is $0.005472/BTC on 2010-03-02.

Thank you for posting this, those numbers are truly stunning! "$1.00 buys 1309.03 BTC" makes Bitcoin Pizza Day look like the person who ate dinner got a great deal.  Shocked
