DSM beta is now open.Repository:https://github.com/deterministicstatemachine/dsmDSM is a deterministic state machine: a new primitive for building applications without a global public ledger, with Bitcoin integrated as a native built-in asset.
Before critiquing this design, I can’t stress this enough: go back to first principles and drop the usual blockchain assumptions.DSM does not operate the way most people will initially assume.- There is no global ledger.
- There is no intermediary.
- There is no global witness set.
- No one waits for unrelated third parties to make their transaction final.
If your critique assumes timestamps or a global ordering layer are required to put things in order, then you are critiquing a different system.DSM is clockless.Ordering is enforced by hash adjacency and relationship-local state progression, not by timestamps, block production, or a global sequencer.
Moving your Bitcoin into DSM is a sovereign, unilateral action. You are not handing control to validators, sequencers, bridge operators, federations, or any trusted hardware party.
The trust assumption is reduced to cryptography inside DSM, and Bitcoin proof-of-work at the Bitcoin boundary.Inside DSM, transactions are feeless. There are no DSM transaction fees. You only pay normal Bitcoin network fees when value enters or exits Bitcoin custody.
DSM supports fully offline, instant final Bitcoin transactions between participants inside DSM.No waiting for confirmations. No waiting for later network coordination. No mesh-style “it settles later.” Offline bilateral transfers are final when the valid state advance happens.
DSM is built for additive scaling.Unrelated relationships do not serialize through one global bottleneck.
DSM is also post-quantum, and its device identity model does not depend on trusted hardware modules. Its C-DBRW design takes a completely different path from traditional PUF approaches: instead of treating thermal drift, aging, and silicon chaos as liabilities, it treats durable physical chaos as part of the security model. Traditional PUF designs have carried baggage here because environmental sensitivity tends to undermine reliability. C-DBRW is designed in the opposite direction: to turn that physically anchored chaos into something resilient enough for practical real-world use.
This beta is running on Bitcoin Signet, so anyone with an Android phone and some Signet BTC from a faucet can try it right now. This has mostly been built under wraps until now, without any real public push, marketing cycle, or community-building effort. Until this beta, development was largely done in stealth.
Some of the seed ideas for this were in my earlier post, but DSM is the direction those ideas actually led:

Important: If your critique assumes a global ledger, an intermediary, a witness set, delayed finality, timestamps, or waiting on unrelated parties, then you are not critiquing DSM. You are critiquing a different system.
