I'm glad that the US is not a country that is ruled by a dictator, in a democracy there are some decisions that are beyond the president's executive powers. If US have to pull out of NATO I believe that the legislative arm of the government will have to deliberate over it first and pass it before the presidency can take action.

If America were to pull out of NATO it will drastically reduce the powerful force of the alliance because America is a major force there. NATO is standing strong for European countries that doesn't have the might to withstand aggressive forces of none member nations. I hope that Trump, is just making a statement for the rest of the NATO alliances and the world at large to know that America, is the main powerhouse of NATO.

Unless he gets the approval from congress (which is extremely unlikely) + it won't be an instantaneous departure either, he will need to wait a whole year before he can leave NATO.

He's throwing a temper tantrum because NATO collectively said "no" when the US asked them to intervene in the Iran war; they finally learned their lesson after the shit they did in Libya 15 years ago. I hope that this will force Europe's hand and get them to finally consider strengthening up their collective defenses so that they can let go of the US and avoid pressure from them to intervene.

Such a comedian. Nobody takes him that seriously, and I am glad some of the European allies have refused to get dragged into a war that was never supposed to be there in the first place. Trump thought that he would just start a war without consulting with allies and then command them to help out, and they would instantly do it. What a shame it's not going according to his plan

I understand the fact that some of us think of United State being a country that practice what through democracy is, but nevertheless, you should also consider who is in question here, because Trump is a kind of beast that always ensure that he hit his targets, even though it might take him some extra time on efforts to achieve what he desired, when it comes to the Congress and the house to decide on what to do, he already know how you could manipulate the whole process and ensure that the majority voted for him in support of what is idea is all about, but should pulling out of NATO be a solution to US all could cause a kind of diversity among themselves.
