The rising price of oil is worse in third world countries, particularly those with very poor electric power supply. Basically, many people have to power their homes with generators, but due to the high cost of fuel, many homes have been plunged into complete darkness. My country is a good example of this and the situation continues to worsen daily, while the middle class seeks alternative sources of power.

That said, i think Trump already knows this war was needless, but he is continuing because of his ego. He keeps making a lot of contradictory statements, and you don't know which to believe, not that it matters though, because all that matters right now is to put a stop to this ASAP.

Here in Philippines, Our government give cash assistance to all the PUV and PUJ to help them on buying fuel at higher price and that’s all.  Cheesy

We have the most corrupt government in the history so there’s no funds left for the country for this oil crisis rather than ask for another loan that will be subject again for corruption.
Our government, as I also live in the Philippines, is doing it the wrong way by trying to appease public sentiment with cash, when it could just remove the excise tax, since a large share of tax revenue goes toward the high cost of oil.

It's good that Iran will now allow Philippine-bound tankers free and toll-free passage, thanks to the Iranian ambassador and Malaysia's lead, if not, we are doomed because the government has no solid plan to address this issue.

Having a government that all they think is only impeachment and everything about corruption, its always the poor citizens who end up suffering the most. So despite of all these work adjustments and everything, if you don't have job at the moment, you're not making an income so you'll end up getting screwed.

This is the essence of having a multiple sources of income so that even if the government is irresponsible, we can still navigate things through.

We have the most corrupt government in the history so there’s no funds left for the country for this oil crisis rather than ask for another loan that will be subject again for corruption.

Some politicians to cut the work hours to save energy but nothing was already implemented even the Department of Energy secretary is very incompetent on handling the crisis saying we have enough oil reserves while the price here already double during the first week only of US-Iran conflict.
Those cash given can only last for days so I think that never serves its purpose at all, some may even use it to pay their debt instead, after that they will still complain with the rising oil price. So I think that's never been that helpful.

The government should be making measures on how to control the rising oil price, not focus on giving cash assistance, because for sure some of these funds who are allocated for the people are still being corrupted and go instantly to the corrupt officials.

And I don't think this is not actually cutting hours, because the regular working hours is 8-5, but now its already 7-6 so its still the same, the rate of energy and electric consumption are still the same, it does not make a big difference. And during fridays, those government employees are still going out with their family and friends, so I think this kind of measure still not serving its purpose.

Brazil is attempting to cushion the shock with fiscal measures, market monitoring, and targeted adjustments at Petrobras (a Brazilian mixed-economy company, a leader in oil and gas exploration and production). The federal government eliminated the PIS/Cofins tax on diesel and announced subsidies for producers and importers, aiming to alleviate the final cost at the pumps. These measures were designed to reduce pressure on freight transport, food, and mobility.

The idea was to mitigate the impacts caused by the increase in oil prices, but it hasn't been very effective; both diesel and gasoline prices have increased at gas stations, in addition to other negative effects on our economy.

Reduction of work hours: Countries like the Philippines and Pakistan have introduced a four-day work period.
This is true but it only applies to the government workers. But for the private sector, they're still the same and they are free to adjust or not their working days. The first step that our government did was giving $100 worth of subsidies directly to the transport sector, to the drivers. But, most of it are known that they'll not spend it on the fuel. So despite with that help, it's just a one thing help done and we're on our own again. Much better if the government subsidizes it directly to the fuel companies so that every driver and commuter that fuels up will have that discount.

i am not very aware of what is the deal in this Malampaya Gas field we have in Palawan, but this is a gas source we have in our country. rumor was that only 10% is given to the Philippine government and 90% belongs to someone else like the Indonesian, Chinese businessman and some Europeans. we wouldn't have a huge issue with gas if the contract in this project if leaders aren't compromised.

in our village today, only those who own electric trike roams on the streets, seem like its their time to really dominate the wide lanes.

Reduction of work hours: Countries like the Philippines and Pakistan have introduced a four-day work period.

Just a little correction to this for the PH. They did not reduce the hours of work. They actually still follow the 40-hour work week, but instead of consuming these 8 hours a day for 5 days, they turned it into 10 hours a day for 4 days of work. So, basically, they did not cut the working hours, but only the business days. Some government agencies even have a hybrid setup, 2 days at the office and 2 days working from home.
Not sure how effective this is, but one thing is for sure, people will have a hard time catching up when they have an important errand that requires government transactions, because most of the time, Fridays are the perfect time to do it, especially for someone who has a 9-5 job.

Our government, as I also live in the Philippines, is doing it the wrong way by trying to appease public sentiment with cash, when it could just remove the excise tax, since a large share of tax revenue goes toward the high cost of oil.

Exactly. This government is so corrupt that they always rely on cash assistance during a crisis, and it's always been the middle-income earners who don't get any assistance at all.
Though the suspension of excise tax on petro products is on its way, but I don't think it's a full suspension.

I'm from the Philippines and yeah the government also intervene with the workday and as I see it less and less people can be seen in the roads (in my area) to be honest and probably a work-from-home setup again will probably ease most of the problem.

Our government, as I also live in the Philippines, is doing it the wrong way by trying to appease public sentiment with cash, when it could just remove the excise tax, since a large share of tax revenue goes toward the high cost of oil.

Can't complain more they've been doing that incentives to have some kickbacks way before I guess but in times of crisis, this so so wrong. Just f this government to be honest, the President is clearly so incompetent when it comes to handling it.

Due to oil crisis in our country, the government is taking various steps. But we have to face many problems, the increase in oil prices is not a problem but oil is not available, we have to stand in line for hours to buy oil, some pumps are closed. Anyway, I saw in the news that the government has decided to reduce office hours. All government and private offices in the country will run from 9 am to 4 pm, currently from 9 am to 5 pm. Also all markets and shops will be closed after 6pm but pharmacy will continue as before.

Nothing they can do except to increase price of oil to the retailer to ensure the economy is still working even though a lot slower than when the oil was cheap.

If they are keeping the price low like before the strait was closed, they'd risk of emptying their oil reserves and putting their country into debt.

I'm sure that the closing of the strait is only temporary and within few weeks or months it will open again eventually.

The SOH has not been closed. Anyone could get through except the United States, Israel and their allies.

It is either these nations affected by the shortage go to Iran and cut a deal with them, abandon the petrodollar and utilise the petroyuan.

Some say Donald Trump this has done this war so those affected can rely on them and their oil after seizing that of Venezuela.

Finally, back to the heading, nobody talks about the blockage of Cuba,  nobody cares how they're coping with having no power and oil at all.

Luckily in my country oil prices is still remain stable but i don't think it will be last long because if the war continue for more weeks or even months and oil prices still high then my government will adjust with the global condition and not impossible to considers to raise the fuel price but i think this is the final step which will be choose but so far my government are still considering to encourage the companies at least to give their employee to work from home for at least once for a week and if we calculate it this action can save energy and costs pretty much but i don't this this action will be so effective considering geopolitic condition is still remain unpredictable and i am sure eventually my government will raising fuel prices to save foreign exchange

The rising price of oil is worse in third world countries, particularly those with very poor electric power supply. Basically, many people have to power their homes with generators, but due to the high cost of fuel, many homes have been plunged into complete darkness. Petrol prices are the backbone of every country, which is being used to completed amlost 99.9% task of each country. Like petrol is used to harvest in fields, petrol is used to produce electricity, it is used for transportation, and it is used in factories. The higher its price means that a higher rate of production, which is equal to a higher rate of infaltion and if things keep going this way, then it is believed that the coming inflation rate will break the back bones of the majority of people around the globe.

And in the case of my country, last night the rate of petrol has been raised and broke all records of history because it was never that much higher before, but governmet has signed a subsidy for every field on the basis of the usage of petrol on a daily basis.

Starting today my country has implemented a Work From Home policy every Friday. This means more companies may only work four days a week at office, although some of them will still working at office on Saturdays but I think many companies will eventually shift to a four day work/week.

So far, we haven’t seen the results yet since it has only just started. I hope it works well, especially because the government has not raised fuel prices yet, which is quite worrying. People may not be prepared if prices suddenly increase. I’m also concerned that the government might cut other subsidies, such as fuel, healthcare, education, etc.

Today oil price is about $107 per barrel. It was trading within the range of approximately $67 to $73 per barrel before the war. Another problem is that the supply chain has been disrupted. The attack on oil facilities in the Middle East and the partial closure of theStrait of Hormuz have caused many countries to lack supplies. These are some of the ways some countries are trying to overcome this problem.

Reduction of work hours: Countries like the Philippines and Pakistan have introduced a four-day work period.

Work from home: Malaysia, Thailand, Egypt, and Indonesia are asking workers to work from home because it would help to reduce fuel consumption.
In ASEAN, as far as I know, my country, Indonesia, has not seen an increase in fuel prices, while some countries, such as Malaysia, have experienced price hikes.

Regarding Indonesia, workers—particularly civil servants who receive salaries from the government—have indeed been asked to work from home one day per week.
The reason is clear: to save costs, and this must be understood, even though public services have also faced challenges, despite the fact that nearly everything is now handled digitally.

If the conflict continues, we can imagine what our fate will be, as we are not yet prepared to return to the days of the past when we could survive without the technology we have today.

This same principle was proposed by the government but I don’t know if it has been implemented widely. The problem is that the technological system might not be efficient so companies may still prefer everyone to get to work. Another issue is employees might be overworked in those four days just to cover for the remainder of the week.

What's happening in your country?

Currently, the oil supply in Bangladesh is at a level that makes it possible to operate the country's public transport. However, the main shortage is in petrol and diesel. As a result, long lines are being created at various places for motorbikes and private cars.

However, the relief is that there is no shortage of diesel. Due to which the agricultural sector and public transport are still able to function normally. But this situation is not a permanent solution.

It is hoped that the government will take necessary steps quickly so that such a major crisis does not have to be faced in the future.

My country yesterday was quite busy about the news of rising oil prices so many people made large purchases before the price increase occurred and they would hoard it but the fact is that it did not happen, the government did not declare it and the price of fuel oil in my country is still fairly safe, the government in my country is quite good at managing this, it's just that I don't know how long it will last because if there is a continuous shortage of domestic needs, it will make oil in my country continue to be depleted which will result in scarcity, I personally initiated to keep accumulating fuel oil and stockpiling it to get peace of mind, because I don't know how long the oil reserves in this country will run out.

That is good for people of Indonesia that fuel prices are not increased, despite so much increase in oil price in international market. Here in my country (Pakistan) there is significant increase in price of patrol and diesel due to this increase there is increase in price of everything sold in the  market. Government has taken some measures to decrease consumption of oil like schools were closed in month of march and now government employees are advised to come to office on alternate days, despite such measures government still has increased price of patrol.

Even countries not directly involved are feeling the impact of world leaders selfish attitudes. In some nations heavily dependent on oil, the effects are clearly felt, and they may have to switch to electric vehicles. Or perhaps we need to return to a time when walking was the way to get healthy again. If I’m not mistaken, in the Philippines or Thailand, workers have decided to walk considerable distances.

In my own country, so far oil prices have remained stable, and the government has urged the public to stay calm because oil supplies are secure since we produce our own. However, imports through the Strait of Hormuz still play a role because domestic production is insufficient.

Yes, you are right and its true that when a global conflict starts then its affects many other countries which are not directly involved in the war. Its creat uncertainty for countries when the global leader prefers thier own interests and don't focused on global issues like the increase in oil prices. So if oil prices increases then people thinks about other resources for transport like they going towards electric Vehicles and prefers public transport instead of personal bikes and cars. And if a country is capable of producing its own oil then its also a tension of its reliance which mainly passes through strait of Hormuz for Asia countries. So if currently the situation is sensitive due to high prices of oil then countries should explore the new way of energy and its decrease the reliant of countries on exports.
