Hello forum. What do you think about this coin? Will the rate at least return to 70? Or has everyone forgotten about LTC?
Litecoin is among the best coin that has best fees and network...For the aspects of forgotten a Litecoin, it can't be true that Litecoin will be abandoned...they're people who hold thousands and millions of Litecoin, targeting when the price will hits to their target

I agree with this, but the Litecoin network can process (on-chain) about 4 million transactions per day (Bitcoin: 1 million). While currently LTC doesn't come close to that number (normal transaction volume is 150-200k per day) there were spikes in 2024 with up to 1.3 million already. "Real adoption" would drive the activity much higher.

Let's now imagine an optimistic world where Litecoin is at $1000 (20x the current price) and it's also roughly 20 times more used than today. Then we would have around 2-4 million transactions per day, and every now and then it would hit the 4 million ceiling. This would mean that the fees would rise, and LTC could lose its character of "cheap payment network".

There's a solution for that however: Litecoin has extension blocks so it can create new sidechains quite easily to deal with this problem. This is definitely an advantage. But I still think the Lightning network is a serious competitor, because the base unit is Bitcoin which is much more popular and also less volatile than LTC. If LTC becomes really popular (>1 million txes per day) then it should embrace second layers too.

There's already a Lightning Network solution built for Litecoin. The base unit is LTC (or Litoshis to be exact). It's just that people are barely using it because Litecoin has ample transaction capacity. At least, for now. Despite declining market prices, I still have faith Litecoin will live up to its name as "Silver to Bitcoin's Gold". It's reliable, fast, cheap, and easy to use. The "mimblewimble" privacy feature is a plus.

As for "extension blocks", that's an entirely new concept for me. Since it allows sidechains to be built on Litecoin, scaling issues would no longer be a problem. In my opinion, Litecoin is extremely-undervalued. Hopefully, the masses realize its true benefits over time.

The relationship between the market caps of crypto gold and crypto silver is ca 350:1.
If real gold and silver market caps would relate in this way one oz of silver would cost 1.70 usd and one kg silver 55 usd  Tongue

Does that matter? Sure for people like me having bought some at $145 i have to wait.
Still better than leaving it at a CEX service and not being able to touch them

People are selfish the just see their opportunities. Seeing others might open your eyes.

There are two types of thoughts about Litecoin, the most common of which is that Litecoin is an old and reliable coin. Even if there is no guarantee when investing in other altcoins, Litecoin can maintain confidence. The main strength of this coin is its focus only as a payment medium. If the price of Bitcoin increases, then the price of this coin also will increase. Especially when the next generation is very interested in crypto payments, people's interest in this coin will increase further. This coin has gained a lot of acceptance due to low fees and fast transactions. While other coins are working on various trends, Litecoin is focusing only as its payment medium, which is why this coin will be reliable for investors.

If Litecoin were to focus on payments only, then market prices should be kept as low as possible. This will encourage more people to spend than to "hodl". A more expensive LTC, means higher TX fees in Fiat terms. Although, developers can simply improve on-chain transaction capacity to keep fees as low as possible regardless of current market prices.

For being "Silver to Bitcoin's Gold", I'd say Litecoin is extremely-undervalued. Let's just hope it gets the attention it deserves in the future. Just my two sats.

Lower prices (ceteris paribus) encourage hodl. This is why hodling LTC is much more proper than hodling BTC now.... When there will be dozens trillion-dollar-market-cap crypto assets after few decades then LTC is possibly among them.

The only "problem" is that there is great probability that the prices of crypto assets will be even much lower in the short to medium run. The extraordinarily strong stock market supports crypto prices at the moment but when this bubble bursts and major stock indexes start to fall remarkably, BTC falls even harder and altcoins like LTC will have no bottom at all - it will be possible to get LTC with less than 1 usd then. This is the reason I suggest only very moderate LTC investment at the present situation.

But starting with DCA is a good strategy now when the LTC price is already below 50 usd.

It seems like Litecoin lost a lot of its shine and momentum after Charlie Lee sold and donated nearly all of his LTC back in Dec 2017.  Even though it was said this was done as to not to create or give the appearance of a conflict of interest, I believe it put a lot of people off because LTC was at a then ATH and this also crashed the price.  Following the trend since, it appears the ceiling is low but it seems it can remain a top 50 coin in the foreseeable future.
