Someone sent me a message.  They were selling their account.  This is the first time something like this has happened to me.  I know this is against the forum rules and is wrong.  I'm posting here to report the issue to you.  I hope this is the right place. If it is not correct, moderators can move the topic to the appropriate place.

The account woke up today, password was also changed today, it's probably a hacked account and the new handler want to sell it to you.

I know this is against the forum rules and is wrong.
No, it's not against the forum rules. Not until today, the last I checked the rules, the forum just discouraged the buying and selling of accounts, but it's never against the rules, so it's allowed.

18. Having multiple accounts and account sales are allowed, but account sales are discouraged.

The message the user sent to you can be considered an unsolicited PM, and you can always start the reporting from there by reporting to moderators to take action.

29. Sending unsolicited PMs, including but not limited to advertising and flood, is not allowed.

All of the above is correct, account sales aren’t against the rules but they are frowned upon and if proven, the account usually gets negative or at the very least neutral trust which effectively makes the account worthless.

Account sales are really looked upon negatively because they are usually done to just join signature campaigns. They can be used to try and facilitate a scam. A seemingly high ranked account without negative trust might hold more respect in the community and be used to pull off a scam.

Like Nwada001 says above, report the PM. I’m unsure if mods will ban him for unsolicited PM but it’s worth a go.

@WannaParadise, this is the kind of topic suited for the reputation board. I would suggest you move the thread to that board, as the forum does not moderate account sales. I believe someone naive took over the account and thought they would just instantly make some cash out of it.

I am certain the DT members will tag it.

Thank you JeromeTash, i have forwarded the issue to the appropriate department as you requested. Such account sale advertisements are unexpected and surprising to me as well. They not only violate the forum rules but also erode the sense of trust here. I hope the relevant team will review the issue promptly and take the necessary action...

Make sure you haven't edited the PM screenshot; otherwise, you might get tagged as well if the sender defends himself. For your information, PM is verifiable through admins; once reported, they could read the PM as well. I am wondering why he specifically PM'd for the account sale. Has anyone else have received such a PM?

I have tagged the account; you may report yourself to admins from your ends. Though account sales are not against the forum rules, he might get banned due to unsolicited PMs, depending on the admin. If I were in the admin team, probably I would ban the account permanently for such unsolicited PMs.

Few days ago, I saw a similar case about account selling through a private message report posted on the Beginners & Help board by @mascon and now seeing the same kind of thing here again. Whenever you receive PM about selling accounts, you should report them immediately and avoid getting involved. Just keep in mind that a bought account doesn’t last long or go far, so it’s better not to waste your money buying such accounts.

Avoid selling your account for just a few bucks: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5569756.msg66227051#msg66227051

the account usually gets negative or at the very least neutral trust which effectively makes the account worthless.
That user was directly marked with a red trust tag and neutral trust.

Let's try to play a guessing game based on the merits that were sent and received by this account, in order (perhaps) to guess who has a habit of sending out PM without an invitation.
Anyone who checks the merits sent by the boysthanos12 account to the nakamura12 account, as well as checks the dates when these posts were written, will immediately guess that these merits were not sent by chance.

1/6/2020 7:13:36 PM wakes up and immediately three minutes later sends credit to nakamura12's account for the post from January 06, 2020, 12:01:56 AM

Also, 2 merits 10/6/2020 10:51:38 PM for the post from February 07, 2020, 06:17:48 PM, and another one 4/21/2025 3:19:45 AM for the post from March 09, 2025, 11:47:08 AM (well, you can still believe that)

Now back:

exchange of merits in less than a minute:
 2 merits 10/6/2020 10:51:38 PM for the post from February 07, 2020 from boysthanos12

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5268065.msg55328389#msg55328389

also three merits for the old post

Considering that nakamura12 and boysthanos12 both have a "love" for the number 12, as well as for unsolicited PMs, which is what nakamura12 has recently become famous for.

Got a PM about asking for Money!

But that's not all.

This account received merits from two negatively tagged accounts, as well as a neutral tag from  @nutildah.

https://bpip.org/Profile?id=2142974

Therefore, it is not surprising that someone who sends PM asking for five to ten bucks will also "sell" his accounts on the sly through PM.

Besides, look how quickly he responds when someone brings up the sale. He responds within seven minutes. Grin Grin Grin

It's not good to buy account. I'd rather create an account that buying account. I have received a PM on telegram asking if I want to buy an account but I refuse. For selling account is that I don't know if there are lots of people who are willing to buy but my advice is that they shouldn't buy account because no matter what rank it is when your knowledge isn't good. Selling account will only make more people who will only spam since they can join signature campaigns rather than joining on discussions, sharing knowledge and crypto news.

Does anyone still believe in coincidences? Grin Grin Grin

As a result, I suspect @nakamura12 of selling their alternative accounts.

After everything you've discovered and linked, I don't believe there are any coincidences, but rather that there are members on this forum who are unaware that they can't do such things without being discovered. Let's just see if any of the members named will show up to say something in their defense Wink

I specifically brought up this topic to remind others that "karma" brings deception back to those who try to deceive others.
I accidentally found an alternative account, which was most likely also sold, but stupidly, I also received a negative tag.
Previously, it was suspected that the LeyMonte account had been sold, but its owner stubbornly defended himself, telling everyone that he was from the Philippines.

There's something weird about this account. I started reading their new posts and the story they've concocted about being part of a "security team" in the Philippines is quite elaborate. They did leave exactly 1 post on the Pilipino board since the account woke up, as a way of saying "look I'm still Filipino." Well I don't buy it.

And yes, the real owner was probably a Filipino who sold the account not only to LeyMonte, but also subsequently to greek_hephaestus.

https://bitlist.co/search?content=0x05bC559819F1257Df3dE8ddFaDF7F3B5FBf8A16F&limit=20

I have sufficient suspicions about who is secretly offering accounts for sale on the Philippines forum, but he is quite stupid, since a lot of relationships remain after his actions.

The evidence is incontrovertible. Thing is, why exactly does one choose to buy/sell an account with a member rank? Smh.

Another alternative account is @nakamura12, which periodically wakes up, probably to find a buyer. Again, there is a clear exchange of merit between @nakamura12 and jademaxsuy, who, according to @nutildah, has a large farm.

Obviously, such accounts are specially "grown" to the rank of "Member" and then go to the buyer.

Once again, we can see the "worship" of the number 12. Shocked

And this proof changes the neutral tag to a negative one

Another account that shares transactions with the nakamura12 account, which apparently decided to check its tags on its account by appearing on the forum today. His last activity was in 2024, and he could also be identified by an active exchange of merits.

However, the transfer of funds to the nakamura12 wallet indicates the involvement of the account seller in this.
