No, luck hasn't smiled on me like that yet. I personally know someone who won big at poker and founded a small company that did home renovations, and it's still in business today. He used his winnings to buy tools and hire people. Since then, they've expanded and are making a good living.Games didn't bring me enough money to open a business.

I've not personally, but I've a friend who did that, he won a thousand dollars from sports betting and used the proceeds to get 4 laptops and 2 printers for his newly launched business center at school environment. Yes, it happened many years ago. My brother and I won a winner-take-all horse race; the prize was a 5-digit sum. I was relatively young, when i won biggest amount in my life. I have never since won anything even close to that. Sadly at the time i was too young and reckless, and there were no change that i could have invested that to anything sensible. Most sensible thing i got from it was a laptop. Rest of it went to luxury and partying.

Ironically it was 2 years after bitcoin was born, but at the time i wasn't even aware of it. Not that i am pretending that i would have bought any btc with it. As likely i would have ignored it even if i knew about it.

These days i would know how to invest it, and it's not even cryptos that i would buy.

I don't like it when we used phrase like saying gambling money disappeared. Only a person that lack management in spending will win a reasonable amount of money and give excuses that the money vanish from them immediately. There are people are self millionaires in my country, made good amount of money and establish good business from gambling money and never for once time you will see them not liquid, it's their business that's bringing money for them.

As a gambler, anytime you win good amount of money and you have this habit of spending everything at once, it's not that hard. But some Bitcoin and withdraw it to your non custodial wallet, that way even if you have small problem, you will not think about swapping the money for fiat, you are at advantage of keeping the money on you pending till when you have time to use the money, this is only possible if you know you can hold the money else you may end spending the money.

I call that alternative capital. Sometimes, the little things that we don't count are what amount to a big part of our entire life, one may not have won a large amount to fund a business from gambling,  but at least winning from gambling has always been a good support system in financing our dreams even if it's not a whole.

Like most people, I haven't won a large amount yet. But what you described is what's in my plan. If I ever get a massive win from my gambling hobby, it's definitely going to go into a good venture like a low risk investment in the money market. I would still gamble but I will first make sure that a nice chunk will be stashed away some way safe that I would be able to access it even if I really wanted to. It's the same thing when I won a trade with worth of couple of hundreds, 95% went into an investment.

That's also my goal, unfortunately what I have experienced until now are just consistent losses. I guess I haven't had the luck yet to finally say that I have won a life-changing amount from gambling. But I know I will when the perfect timing comes.

I've not done this before and this is because I've never encountered a big win from gambling, the kind of win where it's proceeds can be used to set or start up a business..
But I've seen some person's who are very big today and the capital they used in starting the business which has expanded greatly right now; was from gambling, one even now lives in the UK with his family while he has businesses running here in my country and generating millions weekly.

This all started from an over 100 hundred million (coverted to my local currency) won from playing slot game, this money is what this person used judiciously, invested in lands in strategic areas, years later, sold the land and raise a bigger sum with which he started a company with, today, that company is still standing strong and making money for him..

Lol, you're very correct I think most gamblers normally have this thought of becoming a better person when the luck hasn't come, but when it happens they would start looking for something else. I want to use this opportunity to ask, why is it always like that?
