As a beginner in bitcoin, you have to ask yourself this important questions: Am I an investor or a Trader? Which type of bitcoin enthusiast do I intend to be? This will allow you to streamline your activities to suit your real mission in the bitcoin space. Proper understanding of your goal has a lot to offer in your success as a bitcoin lover.

Some people entered bitcoin since many years ago while some came into bitcoin just last one or two years while some are still joining bitcoin and many will keep joining as bitcoin gains more publicity. So far, every bitcoin enthusiast chooses either one out of the two broad paths: Investment or Trading.

A Bitcoin investment is a situation whereby a mate buys bitcoin and decides to hold it for at least 4 years to 10 years or more number of years before thinking of selling off all or part of his bitcoin. This means that you must keep your bitcoin for a very long time before you can be called an investor. To qualify to be called an investor, you must be able to...

1. Buy bitcoin with the money you will not need soon which they call discretionary income.

2. Hold your bitcoin for minimum of 4 years to 10 years or more before you can start thinking of selling all or part of your bitcoin.

3. Get used to bitcoin price instability which is what they call bitcoin Volatility and try not to panic when it goes left.

4. Avoid Fear of missing out on opportunities by either buying too many bitcoin because the price is very cheap or selling your bitcoin because you think that you now have enough profit from your capital.

5. Be responsible for every decision you make as regards your bitcoin accumulation process.

A Bitcoin Trading involves buying bitcoin for a short term profit: buying bitcoin and hoping to make gains sooner than later. This means that a trader is very profit minded and anti longtime holding. Traders arguably generally;...

1. Buys bitcoin as a trade which implies that he may buy beyond his discretionary income to increase his profit supposedly.

2. He is greedy and very profit minded.

3. He panics when the volatility is going negative for long

4. He sometimes sells at loss when the bear market persists.

5.Be responsible for every loss or gain made and can abruptly leave bitcoin after series of losses.

There are mates that initially go into bitcoin as investors and after a while when the bear market sets in they get fearful and sometimes sells their bitcoin under panic. These mates too are bitcoin traders because they have not developed the investors mindset which you need to succeed as an investor.

It's either you are a Bitcoin investor or a Bitcoin trader, there's no in-between. So here comes my question: Do you think you are a Bitcoin investor or Bitcoin Trader?

You can read through as a beginner here.

Well the comparison of investment and trading never gets old Perhaps everyone likes to differentiate between the two and at the end of both the merit/advantage and the demerit/disadvantage it often makes investment a major and trading a minor in the sense that folks begin to say stuff like 'trading is harder than investment. Yes it is, but is there any need to compare both of them Like basically many crypto enthusiasts invest and also trade in fact to me that is a well balanced approach towards being a crypto enthusiast because that way you will not only build your psychology but also your mind analysis of how the market works for trading and how to maintain a proper long term investment without selling irrationally.....

more over in my perspective there is no need to compare both of them or start differentiating them don't get me wrong because each has their own unique value. So either you invest or you trade it doesn't  really matter. Overall to me  perhaps if a person is psychologically strong in trading he has more higher chance in investing because he has a lot of experience with the market. So yeah that's just it....

This can be different for each person because everyone moves at their own personal pace. I have not been in the crypto space for a very long time but shortly after I started understanding bitcoin, I began investing a small amount. I also tried trading for some time and even joined a paid Telegram group but I didn’t continue with it for long. Personally, I have been maintaining DCA and investing small amounts in bitcoin, so it won’t be wrong to describe myself as an investor.

What you want to do in the crypto space will be determined by your interests and if you have interest in trading it is important that you practice first and give it time for you to be able to understand before going into else you would fail and feel discouraged even before you start. For beginners in cryptocurrency it is important that you start from investing first and not trading because trading may not exactly give you an amount of money that you expect to get quickly because it is not a get rich quickly scheme so trying to invest some amount of money while you learn how to trade should be your approach.
