That’s what’s happening to me now. I’ve experienced quite a losing streak, and it’s been 3 months now since I’ve been losing overall, so I feel like I’m getting used to it already. I gamble, I win, I feel happy a bit, but when I lose, I’m fine.

But don't you think that's not a weird feeling? It's actually a way to tell you that all the money you have been losing is not above what you could afford to lose? I still get sad feelings each time I lose, but not as much as those who stake high amounts (high, I mean, if rated based on their income), as for the winning, no matter how I win, the positive feeling will be there, but not as much as it will be each time I hit a high amount I don't win regularly.

Maybe you’re betting amounts that are insignificant to you. If you’re playing with minimal bet, you won’t feel disappointed by losses, and I doubt you’ll feel much joy from wins either, because in both cases the impact is so small that it doesn’t really matter. Or maybe you’re just tired of gambling and need to take a break, because if it has turned into a routine, that can also lead to a point where you stop reacting to wins and losses and just accept them as something normal and inevitable.

Only very few people think this way, as I am the only way to feel safe as a gambler is to use money that even if I keep losing it every week it won't affect my health, life, bills or mental wellbeing.

I've already carved it in my mind that losing and winning are both normal. So whenever these two come to me, they're just like ordinary days but I still have that feeling of happiness and sadness for both of it. But I don't stay on that sadness for long if I ever get into losing streak which lately that I've been consistent in it for weeks. Don't think of it as something weird, it only means that you've already accepted that losing is part of gambling and you're no longer worried with this outcome because you've been used to it.

It shows that you are gambling for fun. Those who gamble for fun sees it as a norm to them because they know that losing is part of gambling and they are gambling with the amount of money that they can afford to lose

However, I will feel bad if I'm on a long losing streak like you because the game will look one sided. At least win once or twice before losing again.

It doesn’t hurt as much when you’re only risking what you can afford, but the reality is we feel bad because we tend to risk big and expect to win almost all the time. That alone is already unrealistic.

We don’t realize that even people who are successful in gambling, especially in sports betting, don’t win anywhere near 99% of the time. They’re happy being profitable by a small margin. For example, if they have a $10k bankroll and make $1k profit, that’s already a win for them.

But for us, it’s usually the opposite, we start with $1k and expect to turn it into $10k.

I don't expect that it becomes a surprise to us saying that we lose in gambling, because it is very common that when gambling, we are more prone to lose than to win, which is why many way advise that gambling should be taken as an entertainment and not that we should gamble for the sake of making money from it, therefore by default, it should feels normal to us when we gamble and lose because we are expected to plan ahead for having this as we Gamble.

For sports betting, I still feel disappointed when I lose. Especially when the team I support could actually win, but the result ends up either a draw or a loss. 
But for casino games, I really don't feel disappointed when I lose. Like when playing slots, the joy is definitely felt when winning, but when losing, everything is just normal for me.

You're not numb to it but you think it's normal because you're used to it, but even then you're still upset about the loss, let's be honest, even though you don't get as emotional when you lose as before.
The defeat must be accepted in that way, that's good, it's just that you have to limit your losses in gambling and of course with the number of defeats that you can tolerate well as a guardian so as not to take away your money so much, victory is very rare therefore you feel happy, because it's like finding money in the middle of the road.

I am thinking that it is probably two reasons for this, the first one is that you have learned to accept losses and it no longer hurts you, while the second reason I can think of is that you have just become used to losing the amount of money you are losing, that is if you happen to gamble with more and loss it, it will hurt. If your reason is for the first one then I think that's very good, but if it's the second one and then you decide that you want to increase the amount of money you gamble with because gambling now feels numb to you then that means you'll be making a big mistake because increasing the amount of money you gamble with means just increasing your risk that is increasing the amount of money you can loss.

Feeling numb to losses actually goes both ways, it could be a sign of emotional stability or gambling addiction and I will explain why. When a gambler feels like losing is normal it actually means that he easily accepts his losses and moves on quickly. Another side to this is, it can be a sign of addiction, gambling addicts feel numb to losses, this is the reason why they keep on gambling and losing even when it is causing them a lot of harm, this can be very dangerous.

Even losing what you risked out, which you feel is affordable can also bruise your ego, making you divert your focus on your mastered pattern of selection into other varieties, which means more losses.

But for us, it’s usually the opposite, we start with $1k and expect to turn it into $10k. 

Exploitation is the attitude of broke and lazy gambler. Real ones manage their risk with a better capital.

When it gets to a point where your loss doesn't bother you at all even though you've lost a reasonable amount, it only means one thing and that's the fact that you're on a part of massive loss because if it's not a a big deal that that you're loosing much, how would you know that you've lost to a point where you should put a pause to it.

No matter how long you've been involved in gambling, there's no gambler that's comfortable when he's losing so long.
