You can still go wrong when trading oil in my opinion. Gambling itself is already very volatile since you can lose your money in minutes or earn a decent amount just in minutes also. Take a look at when Brent oil touched $119 and then suddenly dropped to around $95. If you're trading it, people without proper knowledge will likely panic sell.

Both trading and gambling are risky. Since they’re risky, people can choose whether to risk their money on gambling or trading it’s up to them. If you look at oil price action before volatility kicks in, it can be quite boring. So if you're just looking for adrenaline gambling might feel more exciting.

Do you have to take my word for it? Where's the proof that you're trading profitably? Could you at least send me screenshots of your trades so we can see the results?

There was a time when I also wanted to trade these assets, but something stopped me. Perhaps the broker required too large an initial deposit. Perhaps that's even for the better.

Oil and gas no.Some precious metals, yes. And not in a buy-sell mode, but rather a buy and forget it for a long term mode. I don't see the point in these swings: one mistake can instantly wipe out your balance.I've seen tokenized assets and futures for them appear on many platforms. If you're looking for a thrill, why not? I'll pass, as I have enough games.

You can check trading sites and sort it by gains, you'll see coins that pumps more than 100% and you know what's the best thing about it? You can use leverage. Just kidding, that's basically throwing away your money, I understand what you feel since I've been trading/scalping pumping coins before and even though you will earn x3-x5, I can guarantee that a few consecutive losses, you'll ended up losing it all but the adrenaline and addiction is there too, so beware.

But now I can say from your topic that gambling is a means of entertainment no matter how good the business is, people can use gambling just for entertainment in their free time. I do agree that it’s somewhat profitable now trading this oil as the conflict is not yet resolved bit since Trump already give an ultimatum to Iran to open the Strait I think it’s already dangerous to trade oil now as there will be a volatility and mixed action on the price depending on what will be the outcome today.

I’d rather gamble on table games which I enjoy playing instead of losing my money to uncertainty on what will be the outcome of US move to Iran.

Who’s trading it?

Its your choice to go that way but same as gambling I find this type of trading risky. Because situation is unknown especially that there's a chance that once this trouble is done prices will drop. So people should pay attention on the news and don't deal with this type of trades for long term.

But don't have same thought's as yours since maybe trading is not appealing for me at the moment. But its good you enjoy it and I only see few people doing this trade here, maybe lots of people busy on other things or they decide to continue to have fun on gambling.

You can trade oil & gas both ( i do it on Bing X, link is in my signature )
Trades can be super short-term (minutes) or longer-term, holding days or weeks.
It’s all about your strategy ,  scalp fast on news, or hold for macro trends.
I prefer to scalp on news,  and i cant imagine a better time doing this than right now, but you need to spend some time in front of the screen and don't be to greedy. Control is Key

Gambling is gambling that is different but you feel the adrenaline with commodity trading, then you are free to do that but comparing it with dice, slots or betting on a horse. Nah that's not the same thing bro.

I’m aware of what’s happening there and I can feel the impact, but I’ve never really thought about trading or gambling on it.

It’s not just about one game anyway. There are still a lot of games I enjoy and feel more confident picking, at least not that one. Unless there’s someone who can really train me how to be profitable with it, my interest just isn’t there yet.

If you can't get it wrong most probably I assume that the payout or dividend is low. Nevertheless I know people who have become rich because of such geopolitical tensions that are on going in the world. I don't trade and even less trade oil which is directly related to human lives being lost as that is what makes the price move, the Strait of Hormuz is just the lever but behind it a lot of dead soldiers and civilians that live no more now. Better stick with gambling as no life bas been thrown away because greedy billionaires can never have enough.

looked like insider trading has taken place.

Trading on Oil and Gas requires the same input and research as gambling on sports - unless you
have access to insider information. Otherwise its a guessing game which happens all the time.

And yeah, that is good but if you are going to gamble with the same expectation then you will end with disappointment. Winning gives you the high feel that is for sure but do you always with by trading oil and gas?

Gambling is not a source of income, so you shouldn't compare it with oil and gas trading. There are also no guarantees that you will always make a profit in trading. Gambling is simply a form of entertainment because it could easily lead to addiction if seen as a side hustle.

I don't think OP is trying to make some emphasis on their profits to begin with.
He is rather talking about trading oils an gas as a substitute for gambling, so one can get entertainment and also some chances of getting profits from each trading/gambling session.

The important thing with oil and gas markets is always keeping up to date with geopolitics.
This all the whole situation between Iran and the United States is a perfect storm for those who profit from volatility on the oil market and also for those who seek thrill.
