I agree with you and really don’t understand why the two are confused, when trading involves real assets whereas gambling is a game based on statistics. I accept that commodities trading will experience huge fluctuations and that predicting its future price is practically a gamble, but it’s not right to lump the two together.

It all comes down to preferences so I will say whatever works for you then stick to it, oil and gas sounds businesslike to me and that is what it should be but gambling is different for me because it is an entertainment. If I do oli and gas it won't be any different from crypto and forex trading which I view like jobs and there is nothing fun about jobs, it's all about seriousness to make profit. With gambling I don't have to be too serious, I just play with carefreeness with small amounts unlike trading that requires all the seriousness and focus. I've never heard that people do anything trading for fun, it's all about technical analysis but there are a lot of people that gambles for entertainment.

In my experience and according to several studies I have read, gamblers are actually very bad at investing.
There have been several experiments in while scientists and researchers take a number of gamblers, give them money and ask them invest that money in order to get a fixed percentage of income. Practically the one hundred percent of those gamblers ended up losing all the money it was given to them.

So it is kind of contradictory to say gamblers are supposed to reserve part of their time a money in order to invest, when in reality, they would tread oils and gas markets as a casino.

Trading oil and gas is not completely the same thing as gambling except you personally chose to gamble on the two commodities which definitely will give you the adrenaline rush that you will likely find in gambling as well. There are some gamblers who are very comfortable gambling. Maybe they have a strategy that is working for them and thereby making more wins than losses.

We cannot consider business and gambling on the same level. When it comes to oil and gas, I cannot even imagine them with gambling. Ordinary people will never be able to get involved in such a business. Moreover, there is no possibility that oil and gas will increase throughout the year. Maybe a temporary stoppage of extraction or a political reason may be an opportunity for oil prices to increase, but it is temporary. That's right, gambling and trading are very different things. You relax with the first and you try to make money, meaning, you work hard with the second. I doubt you can ever hear someone saying: I am trading for fun, haha,  it just sounds off…  Trading is mostly about making money while trying to protect the capital they have… everything is calculated there.. Even when someone enjoys it, the end goal is still profit…

But gambling? Kind of has a different story..  There are actually people that go in just for vibes, entertainment, passing time… even when they know they might lose..
So traders are more in for money, while gamblers can afford to just play around…

I do not support you by trying to tell us that winning is just a bonus. How can you write that winning is a bonus when the main purpose of gambling is to make money. How can you make money when you have the mentality that winning is just a bonus.
Everyone wants to make money from gambling which is the main reason why people are pumping money into gambling.

Who’s trading it?

Never thought about this actually, but then, I think gambling is gambling while trading is trading, there is no way both activities can come or carry same level of adrenaline, and this is because if it's easier to make profit from trading oil and gas, it is obviously that those into this will enter the market with better confidence and less fear of losing money, it can be easy for them to bet a large sum without having to worry too much about losing the money..

But in gambling, especially in games where the player has absolutely no way of controlling the outcome, like slot and some casino games, the experience is the direct opposite, the gambler will be less confident and fearful of losing their money when they think of staking a large sum, and for those who stake a large sum, their heart will be racing faster than its normal due to adrenaline rush due to either fear of losing the money or the potential of winning a life changing amount of money..
So, there is really no way trading oil and gas will give same feelings as gambling.
