Hey bitcointalk fam, Have you guys tried to flip Oil and Gas lately? Im addicted Same adrenaline, insane daily volatility… and if you spend at least 5 minutes per day do check what's going on in the world, you cant get it wrong Who’s trading it? Even if you are trying to the trading with the oil and the Gas then even if that goes to the high volatile situation I don't think that will washed-out your whole fund, but if you goes to bet on a match then it can fully washed out your full fund at once. So one is trading and another is gambling those are not the same things, but if you going to polymarket withe the bet of the oil and gass price then you can say that yes that is also gambling. But I don't think that these are any kind of subject for gambling actually personally I don't find any fun on these.

Hey bitcointalk fam, Have you guys tried to flip Oil and Gas lately? Im addicted Same adrenaline, insane daily volatility… and if you spend at least 5 minutes per day do check what's going on in the world, you cant get it wrong Who’s trading it? Is this a joke forum thread? I don't find day trading oil and gas to be as fun as gambling. Day trading isn't fun at all, it's more like having a 9-to-5 job. You have to constantly pay attention to the charts and the news. There are other games like "guess where the BTC price would go in the next one minute. Up or Down?". I really don't enjoy such games, but there are people, who enjoy playing them. Or course, there's adrenaline involved, since you are betting real money. Remove the money from the equation and all the adrenaline suddenly goes away. I prefer long term investing over day trading. I also prefer gambling over day trading. Most traders fail at timing the market.

Either we are gambling to make money all we are into oil and gas for making profit, we can't afford to eliminate the risk that is there in each of them, anything that has an opportunity also comes with a demanding task ahead of us to do, there is nothing bad in combining the two together if we can manage to cope, everyone of them has it own risk and we should not take either of them for granted because of the way they appear less demanding of us.

When your attention is scattered across multitasking, it often turns out that no single direction is developed to its full potential, there isn’t enough capacity to fully understand and respond in time. That’s why it’s better to choose one main focus, and if you want to add something else, start with minimal investment just to explore it. Over time, it will become clearer whether you really need that additional type of trading or not.

The thing is, the forecast market has become a kind of casino, and minimal knowledge can help a player make money. Futures on precious metals and oil have appeared on Telegram, essentially the same game more or less, only the bets are now much riskier. The financial world is turning into a lottery, I think many have already noticed.

A mind that is divided among many things will certainly translate to work that will never achieve the best standards. It is essential to make a single emphasis such that all the energy spent on it will result in really rewarding outputs. And you feel like venturing into a new field, then take the smallest steps first, just to familiarize yourself with the field and not feeling the huge pressure of it. Whether the new option is a real worthwhile undertaking or can be dropped at once remains to be seen.

I concur with the fact that, both gambling and selling or buying oil or gas is very risky and very many individuals fail to realize the extent to which the two become very similar when the heart is involved. Futures trading is more likely to appear professional, but until one knows, is disciplined and manages their risks appropriately, futures trading is more likely to resemble gambling in pure form. I also concur that division of the concentration to an extreme point can undermine performance in both aspects. It is preferable to excel in a single field rather than make a rush to money all over. It is either casino gambling or commodity trading, being patient and in control is more than being excited.

Gambling with oil commodities is not bad as long as you can make money from it but you also won't be able to fully control what will be on the news, a lot of wild speculation and just empty narratives that can make you stuck on a belief in gambling on oil, although volatility is attractive but the ability to predict and confirm news about with the latest and real news will be needed to have a bigger victory, if you have all that your victory is guaranteed, it's just not as simple as what we imagine.

First of all, this topic is intriguing because I am a trader but a different kind of trader. I trade the synthetic market. Back to your topic.
For trading oil and gas, things have to be involved. First, risk management, skill and research. Without this I don't see how one will make consistent profit in trading.
Oil and gas are heavily influenced by world event, wars, OPEC decisions, sanctions, weather. All these affect the market generally. I did a little research on this part.
I am a trader and when trading you can switch to different timeframes to check which to trade on and suits you well. Just checking the chart 5 mins per day, what guarantee does that give you that it will make you money because serious traders do proper analysis to take a trade and from my experience checking the chart for just 5 mins is not enough.
You said you are addicted, share with us your personal experience or your result in the outcome of your trades. And give us a basic idea on how to start trading it too.
Who else is trading oil and gas and what is your experience on it too?

If it was that profitable everyone would be doing it and don't even start on the adrenaline talk because there is no way trading on oil and gas will beat gambling, it's an interesting idea but it's not realistic, gambling will beat it every day on every trial, I'm not saying you shouldn't trade it if you think it's that good, it's you choice on what you want to do, just don't try to claim that trading oil and gas give more adrenaline rush than gambling.

That last time I read about oil and gas I don't see anyone calling it's FUN, gambling is more than just a way of making money it's a game and some people love playing them, you can't get that thrill from oil and gas trade. I do stock trading and crypto trading which are both similar to oil and gas, but I've never think about going for oil and gas.
Too much of everything is bad, and I don't have to trade oil and gas too, I am not denying the fact that some people trade oil and gas instead of gambling and there are some who do more than both, many people especially on this forum will chose to gamble instead of doing oil and gas trade.

The emotional excitement that comes when gambling is sharply contrasted to when trading commodities and one can easily see how the two are not at all comparable. The excitement of the moment when a bet is won or lost is even greater since money can be earned or wasted within a few seconds. Admittedly, it is far harder to get the same life rush in dealing with oil as it is with betting. The instantaneous nature of the results of every turn of play is always great bait, difficult to resist by any other kind of investment. To remain with your choice is a basic right of any adult.

I am convinced that this market is like one of those new things that i have seen in recent years that people like so much because it is new but which inevitably attracts scammers and petty thieves. I don't know but based on what i read in this thread i have developed the conviction to stay away from it.

Trading is not necessarily safer or more adult particularly if not done correctly and with sufficient understanding. It can often be gambling because the market fluctuates and you use leverage. I agree that spreading effort across multiple activities can be counter productive so it's to better to focus on one path. The financial market resembles a gambling house when not trading strategically. In the end risk management, experience and discipline are key to success in any case not just gambling versus trading.

This is important and it's addressed in gambling, which I like more. Gambling is about luck, while trading gas and oil is about making bets based on prior analysis or current events. Which is smarter? Investing in gas and oil and leveraging it according to the state of the world or war? Because being in a casino is just luck, investing is something else entirely; it's about using intelligence and our money more wisely.

Well at first already when write I told my self that one should not even compare gambling and oil and gas investment together because they are not even at same levels well gambling should be no for fun just as you have said and oil and gas should be note for risk management by bigger companies not just a single person from my own understanding….why should someone even try to mix the both when the both are of higher risk…honestly oil and gas those have really have a lot to deal with than gambling..

The adrenaline is the same but the focus will be different because being in trading is not just centered on luck but on how we analyze both technically and fundamentally. The development of oil is indeed volatility is still very large for now especially when connected with geopolitical issues that occur but trading is still trading cannot be equated with gambling. I have never done trading because it is not my capacity and I think everyone has their own views on this so when several people are given the choice then surely the choice will not be the same because some will be in trading and some will be in gambling. Even if it has the same adrenaline but the feel will be different unless there are still people (who claim to be traders) still want to trade according to instinct and equate this activity as gambling.

Why don't I trade oil & gas, then prefer to gamble? If someone has knowledge about how the price of oil is moving and is not so stable at a place, will they better take the chance of investing in it, taking advantage of that option, than to gamble? Even with good data, there is a high possibility that the game is under-risked; everyone is just like how they are using their money to have fun, not just being profit-oriented only without seeing the obvious standing in front of them

Its not new either, crazy trading goes all the way back to Victorian age and it was considered very similar to gambling then also. They banned shops that allowed bets on stock prices and labelled them bucket shops and close to fraudulent. We're in a different time so who knows maybe it reappears, I know of countries its still legal to gamble bets on stocks so I cant see why not.
