Have you guys tried to flip Oil and Gas lately? Im addicted 
Same adrenaline, insane daily volatility… and if you spend at least 5 minutes per day do check what's going on in the world, you cant get it wrong

I am not doing this, you are probably wondering why someone is gambling instead of trading gas and oil when the prices are increasing a lot. Actually gambling is an addiction and it is a place of entertainment. Every gambler enjoys gambling games a lot and there is a chance to win big jackpots, which is why people are attracted to gambling. Trading is a serious matter of earning money. Again, a lot of analysis is also required here. Making a profit by trading is a difficult matter but gambling is easy, so people use it more because simple things are more felt and liked in human psychology.

If it was that profitable everyone would be doing it and don't even start on the adrenaline talk because there is no way trading on oil and gas will beat gambling, it's an interesting idea but it's not realistic, gambling will beat it every day on every trial, I'm not saying you shouldn't trade it if you think it's that good, it's you choice on what you want to do, just don't try to claim that trading oil and gas give more adrenaline rush than gambling.

The emotional excitement that comes when gambling is sharply contrasted to when trading commodities and one can easily see how the two are not at all comparable. The excitement of the moment when a bet is won or lost is even greater since money can be earned or wasted within a few seconds. Admittedly, it is far harder to get the same life rush in dealing with oil as it is with betting. The instantaneous nature of the results of every turn of play is always great bait, difficult to resist by any other kind of investment. To remain with your choice is a basic right of any adult.

Exactly, their differences are as clear as day and how they both interact with our emotions are different as well, oil and gas? It's effectively the same thing as wanting to invest in a business, there is a risk involved as with any other business investment but it's not an emotional rollercoaster, gambling? Win or lose doesn't change the fact that a rush will come with it, it's different with different people depending on whether they win or lose but the rush is there and can not be denied.

I dont know why trading oil or gas is compared to gambling. Take a look on oil or gas price chart. It isnt that volatile as crypto, nor give as much profit as risky bet. It is only this period of time its prices went up and down so much. Look at price between April 2025 and March 2026 (dont look at price after, it is an exception due to conflict in Iran). Price has been fluctuating between 62-65 bucks. That is only about 5% change. Similar to placing bets with odds around 1.05. That does not look interesting to me at all.

It seems to me that you are comparing trading oil or gas to trading crypto, not to gambling. Or, do you think trading crypto and gambling is the same thing? I personally would rather agree with you, because I said it myself, and not once, that trading crypto is very similar to gambling. Speaking about pure gambling, I, like you, also think that placing bets with odds around 1.05 is not interesting at all.

That is one of the reasons why gambling is in place it’s for fun, I see some people talk about gambling being for money making alone since you spend money in order to gamble and I ask is gambling only the fun activities you spend money in doing?
It is true that you can make money from gambling, but that should not be your primary purpose of gambling if you want to make money go and work or find a business to do. You cannot be gambling in order to become rich from it, You will only end up losing more money and then end up becoming addicted to gambling which will lead you to lose a lot.

Well I think you are very correct people in this gambling industry take gambling as entertainment already so do I, and it should not even be a bigger deal that taking gambling as funny that should be played at resting hours time…well to me I think trading and gambling should be even compared to each other i will keep saying this… trading had to do with a lot like consistency hard work and lot more…I think back in those days i has a friend who was working with a oil and gas company and honestly it was a lot of hard work and sweet cool money from it if there is a win..

I would not say trading is a serious thing per se. There are traders who actually do not take their strategies so seriously and treat their brokers and exchanges as casinos instead of a serious way to make money.
Trading and gambling are as serious as one make them in our personal economy and way of living.

It is perfectly valid to use gas and oil markets in order to gamble one's money, specially if one goes into brokers with the intention to abuse leverage, one as the saying goes: "play stupid games, win stupid prices".

Trading is also a tough way to make riches although it's proven by some successful ones. Let's be equal to the gamblers who were able to make money out of it and became rich as well. We have other choice to get into and test if that's going to be the ones for us. Not everyone is interested, otherwise they would rather trade (on anything). Some people are interested in sports, so they they will incentivize their interest. Some people enjoy it because you don't have to take it so seriously. Also for some people it's not about lots of money. And gambling accounts still go under a radar of many government officials, unlike trading accounts which i am guessing many people will be surprised about in next 2 years if their government has resources to audit them.

If the main point is profiteering, they'd trade oil and gas for that as they invest in typical assets like the S&P 500 and index funds.

But that's not how it goes with gambling. You're right that if the interest isn't there, they won't do that. And as they gamble to have some fun, they won't stop doing it because that is their interest.

They'll gamble for fun and if they lose, they'll recover it in some other ways.

I'm not really sure if it's a small percentage of gamblers who are doing the chasing of profit; the majority are into it more for the monetary benefit than the entertainment. That's why those sets are easily emotionally affected; each time they are not getting what they expect from gambling, they react negatively with their emotions pushing them to gamble more and chase profit, which is also another way to give the casino more money.

The OP is trying to prove a point to us, rather than gambling for money, he recommended and suggest trading gas and oil maybe that's because he thinks it going to be more profitable than gambling. Some people are actually gambling in order to make more profits, and they will be telling people that they gamble just for fun, excitement and entertainment. But that doesn't mean everyone gamble for profit, truth to be told they're still those who gamble for fun, just to entertain themselves in order to be excited. Both gambling and trading contain risks, but the risk can become worse due to the recklessness of the trader or the gambler. Both of them required sensitivity, and the trader or the gambler must be sensible enough to make the right choices or decisions.

However, I still think that gambling will be more preferable, because even if talk is about profit, it can give gains instantly, it does not require KYC for some period, it is easier to start (registration is few clicks only), you dont need a a lot of knowledge to start.
