Why is the CLoudfare verification more difficult on mobile devices

I've been trying to make some posts since morning but I was stuck in the Cloudfare verification struggles and couldn't pass verification on my mobile device, and I was not close to my laptop.


Now, I tried with my computer and I had access to my account after just one verification session, but my phone has not passed verification ever since.

Note: It is the same network since I used my phone Hotspot to connect my laptop to the internet

Any suggestion to this issue with verification on my mobile device?

I don't know why yours is having issue. But is your phone browser same with your laptop browser? Some times, different browsers handle this verification of a thing differently. If you're using the same browser on both your phone and laptop, you should consider changing the settings on your phone to desktop view. Mine is always on desktop view when I visit the forum on mobile device.

I hope it helps. Otherwise, you should consider clearing your browser cache or better still update your browser if it's outdated.

I don't think the view has to be the problem, It may be with the mobile version of the app

I think the issue was with the mobile version of the browser, I was on Opera mini for both PC and mobile, but I've now switched to chrome for my mobile device and everything seems to work very well.

I'm personally running a script through my account, and I noticed that it broke. It started acting funny for a couple of days, and each time I had to restart it ... but now it's not going through at all, due to Cloudflare. I'm using BeautifulSoup so it could be because of that. No issues when browsing with my PC.

I noticed the forum loading speed slowed down a bit last night and at some point there was even that Cloudflare error of server not responding. I believe it was a DDoS attack and Cloud flare probably kicked in started those security verifications.
Today when I tried accessing the forum, the number one thing I saw on the screen was the security verification but once I passed it, the loading speed is normal.

The Cloudfare verification struggles occurs on both computers and mobile devices, mobile browser verification is simpler than computers. I suggest using your browser's incognito mode if you wish to use the forum without the drawn out Cloudfare verification.

Yes, an attack would be the main cause because Cloudflare verification is more frequent than usual when it finds malicious, DDoS, bot, or scraper traffic.

Even if it's the same network, computer has better processor and ram than phone which makes it faster in performance than the mobile device.
Meanwhile. the CF will not last long until it is over.

You could ask theymos to whitelist it. Mine got whitelisted a few years ago, and is no longer interrupted by Cloudflare.

Cloudflare popups have nothing to do with processing power.

I too noticed Cloudflare's popup today, which usually means it's tightening the checks because of a DDoS attack on the forum.

It may happen if you use VPN. If that’s the case,try switching the server country.  iI helps me sometimes, although I use desktop rather than mobile. But if you’re on mobile, another option to try is to switch between your home Wi‑Fi and mobile data. Don’t use public Wi‑Fi; it’s usually “dirty,” so Cloudflare challenges may persist.

No issue from my end. Both desktop and mobile have smooth verification. I don't even have to click the checkbox to process further, it gets verified on its own, and the message only appears for a few seconds. Have you tried clearing the cache, and do a fresh login? See if it works?

Now, compared to the other forum (altcoinstalk), we could say we are in a rather peaceful environment. The verification, the overall CF isn't that hard on the users.
But if you go down there, you'll realize how hard/difficult it is to pass the CF verification there. You literally have to fight your way through it (figure of speech), and if you add TOR, that's some another level of pain.

I had similar a few weeks back, which I ended up changing my script to get around the cloudflare. which resulted me in pinging the server a bit too much during that time during testing.  However, this time around it doesn't seem like its affected at least my monitoring system is showing me its online, but I restarted it too be sure and its working.

I did have issues just general browsing late last night, where the host was failing. So, I'd assume LoyceV's assumption is correct and there's been a high level of traffic recently aimed at us.

I've been here before and I know how frustrating it can be especially when you probably weren't close to your laptop. Most times it's caused by a combination of IP reputation and browser fingerprinting. Most mobile networks use shared IPs those IPs do get flagged more often by Cloudflare. Also, different mobile browsers behave differently in their scripts, cookies etc so the system may probably not be satisfied with the verification. Since your laptop was able to pass the Cloudflare at one go, it probably stored a valid session while the mobile phone was struggling to establish one

Yes it still does have a free inbuilt VPN and that is probably the reason why OP had an issue with persistent Cloudflare security verification to begin with. When you visit any Cloudflare protected website using Opera with the free VPN active, you are automatically putting a bullseye on your back. I think most of the IP addresses are blacklisted from the past attacks, so Cloudflare starts to think you are one of the attackers.

 It happened to me. Couldn't log in since morning and I'm making use of my mobile device since my system is bad. Blamed it on poor network though because the service bar on my phone also went off. Don't know why things like this will keep popping off.. imagine being logged out while trying to make a post!

I was also having the same issues this early morning from my mobile device but what I did was that I put my phone network on flight mode about twice and restored it again because I noticed it could be network issues and I tried it again and it worked.  And even after then when ever I tried clicking on any section they always redirect me to the cloudfare security verification before granting me access.

Maybe you can check it again because since afternoon I have been online throughout and I haven't experienced it.

How do you get around Cloudflare if you don't mind asking? Use something like Selenium on a windows machine? Or you pay for some API to handle it for you? I don't think it's easily achievable with something lightweight like BeautifulSoup

If you are having trouble with the captcha, you can bypass it.
In your computer, or another device you can access the forum, go to: https://bitcointalk.org/captcha_code.php
There is a link there that allows you to access the forum without complete the captcha verification. Try copying this link to your phone.

I am not sure if this will solve your problem... I think Cloudflare's protection is different from captcha for login, so maybe I am talking nonsense
but... it does not hurt to try.

Try also clear your cache, disable the VPN and try with other browsers.
