Consider all those time-travel movies that you have seen. They are essentially impossible the way they are shown, because they forget to include the most important part of time-travel.
Consider what is on the other side of the sun... the place that Earth was a half-year ago, and will be a half-year from now. Isn't it empty space, except for a few pea-sized asteroids, maybe? And a half-year ago, when the earth was over there, what was here in space, right here where Earth is right now? Maybe a few pea-sized asteroids, right?
So, if you could go back a half-year in time, right here, you would be sitting in empty space, with only a few pea-sized asteroids around you. Why wouldn't you be on the other side of the sun with the earth? Because that would take teleportation-travel as well as time-travel. So, either wear a spacesuit, or figure out how to teleport before you go.
All those "Dr. Who" time-travel shows that were made in the UK, totally disrupted the thinking of their audiences, because they left out the teleportation idea. And without teleportation, time travel would include actually changing the whole structure of the universe... something that nobody knows how to do, even in theory. But if they did, it would take energies that are way beyond everything that we can even imagine.
When you are super-rich, and are a thinker, as well, you know all this. And you also know that you don't have the ability to think 'deeply' enough to figure these things out yourself. So, what do you do? You invent greater and greater AI that can do the thinking that you can't. But do you really know what that kind of thinking AI will do when it becomes smart enough to figure out time-travel and teleportation at the same time?
