Ultimately, without proper security measures in place, there will be unnecessary casualties and the destruction of a key hub for Iranian oil shipments. The question is: why not simply destroy the infrastructure, since that will happen anyway in the event of a capture? I don’t think the U.S. command is so foolish as to simply send its troops on a one-way mission....

It seems you're convinced that Trump will deploy troops and seize Kharg Island, as I see many of your comments leaning toward that view. But I think you will be disappointed because the chances of that happening are very low.

As Oluwa-btc said, it would be close to a suicidal move. If you look at the location of Kharg Island, you will see that it would be an extremely risky military gamble for the US from a strategic standpoint.

More importantly, is it really necessary? It would not simply mean a full scale war with Iran. It would also have serious consequences for US allies and the global economy.

Am still confused on how the Venezuelan's where supposed to stand and fight for there kidnapped president when we all know there president was the architect to there underdevelopment even with the existence of mineral resources in the country.

I haven’t heard anything about: increased freedoms, rising incomes and living standards, greater economic freedoms, or the development of private enterprise, ....

A lot of money is being spent on military alone, while the US national debt continues to rise. The longer the war takes, the deeper the economic pain will be. In the case of Iran, the US naval blockade and the targeting of energy infrastructure, is going to cause further pain for its economy. Nobody wins in this war. And don't let me get started on the global economy. Because persistent high oil prices have raised inflation all over the world.

As I understand the situation now, religious fanatics have themselves become hostages to the situation, since power has effectively been seized by the IRGC junta, which manipulates the religious wing of the government through a "virtual Mojtaba Khamenei", passing off its own actions as his orders.
