I'd rather be called weak by others or even see myself as being weak than try to prove that I'm strong and use my stupidity to land myself in a serious loss. I don't feel like I'm weak; I just feel like I'm missing an opportunity if I don't continue, but that's fine. I prefer not to risk it than risk it and still lose.
Saving your ass from more losses is smartness and not weakness. This is what some gamblers don't understand. They believe that giving up on the game means that you have accepted defeat but they don't know that the casino will always defeat you because of the way their algorithm is designed.

Not yet, quit from gambling not make you weak its the opinion from the gambler have been addiction in gambling only, I think they won't loss partner already quitting from gambling or spent few money only every week for betting not fully addicting. I think some one decision quit from gambling have long term plan and know what the benefit leaving gambling although not fully. Maybe some of them want to focus at real job and quit gambling for awhile until all his job finish then back to gambling, however don't make you aware if someone saying about your weakness when quitting from gambling because its the way how to get fresh mindset and you can back later on the fresh moment.

Sometimes when I try to stop gambling, especially during a losing streak, I end up thinking that I’m weak for wanting to quit. Like part of me says as a man I should just handle it, recover the losses, and not run away from it.
But at the same time, I also know that stopping should be the smart move so the same mistakes don’t keep happening. That’s the part I don’t get. Even when your mind already knows what to do, you still end up going back. One day you feel fully decided to quit, then the next day you find yourself opening the gambling account again and starting to roll like nothing happened hehe.
For you guys, have you ever felt like this too? That quitting feels like weakness at first, but in reality it might be the hardest and smartest thing to do?
If you think that quitting gambling makes you a loser, then your ego(pride) is probably too big. Listening to your ego is a bad thing most of the time. You have to remember that more than 90% of all gamblers end up losing money, so gambling is extremely hard(almost impossible) to become a way for you to make money. Successful gamblers are like aliens. People talk about them, but nobody has ever seen them in real life. Do not treat gambling as a side hustle. Quitting gambling does not mean that you are a loser. It's actually the opposite. Gambling addicts, who have successfully quit gambling are actually strong, not weak.

I used to be addicted but I didn’t see it that way. Although I once thought I had to chase my losses the idea that we should stop and consider that a sign of weakness is a mistake. In fact, I believe that people who gamble can do so responsibly without becoming addicted. When we experience a loss, there are two possible outcomes first, we might not be able to accept it, and second we might be able to accept it. This will result in different reactions.

There is a saying that "he who fights and runs away lives to fight another day" so sometimes it is smart to stop, take a break or quit depending on the severity of addiction that you're fighting off. If you don't stop when you're drowning then you will surely go under and that is not a good place to be, there is no need to stay so you can feel your masculinity because you don't control gambling outcomes. I think some gamblers takes gambling too seriously and that is where the problem lies, you should have a total control of your gambling habit and only engage in it when it is necessary being only when you have a free time for it.

Like part of me says as a man I should just handle it, recover the losses, and not run away from it.~ Are you kidding, mate? It's exactly the other way round. You have to be strong to have the guts to quit when you are in loss. Trying to recover the losses through gambling, the same thing that is responsible for your losses, is stupid and nothing else. Recover your losses through some activity that is not related to gambling, your main job, for example. And if you don't have a job, try to find one instead of trying to find a new game or a casino.

During my newbie days on gambling, I always feel like this due to my greediness is still uncontrollable because I don’t have any financial responsibility back then unlike now when I already have my own family. It’s easy for me to quit rather than to keep gambling when in lose since I consider the financial damage in case I keep gambling until I spend what I can’t afford to lose. It’s not hard to quit right now if you knew already what’s the high possibility outcome when you keep gambling.

If you have ever been addicted and you are able to quit, it means you are very strong. Quitting an addiction is not easy at all, it requires but mental and physical prowess to be able to achieve that. Quitting gambling doesn't make you weak instead it proves that you are strong enough to know the right thing to do and also discipline enough to do it and get you desired outcome. I think anybody that have been able to get out of the addiction if gambling should be proud of themselves . Because it is not easy feat at all

The only thing that I think is you worry too much about others opinions of you. Who cares if you decided to quit for a bit while on a bad streak? If someone has an opinion, tell them keep it to themselves.
If you yourself think you're weak, you need to ask yourself why you might think that. Is it because of what you've heard friends say about others? Is it from something you heard while searching the web?
Toss the negative out the window and take a break, it's not a big deal if you do.

It's normal, your mind is telling you that quitting isn't the solution, better management is greater than giving up, it shapes who you are for the best version of you, walking away is not the solution but a better strategy that won't put you in trouble later, losing streak in gambling has become a norm, people only find it hard to accept. You are used to gambling already, it's a part of you now, there is no running or you won't get your mind straight, have you tried risking very low amount? The best way to factory reset your gambling experience is to start from scratch again like using very small amount of money, like let's say you are risking $20 per gambling session you should start using $2, the biggest problem that people are having with gambling isn't the fact that they aren't winning but how much they are risking and losing.

Quitting gambling does not mean that you are weak or doing something wrong. I think that it is great that you think you should quit (forever, make a pause for a period), because "financial" gears in your head have started moving and telling you that you should manage your finance more wise. Sometimes it is even necessary to take a pause to calm down emotions. Even a half an hour pause might help to get focus back, reconsider gameplay.

It is even wiser to take a break from gambling upon you noticing your back-to-back losing streak, as wisdom requires you to do so, and not you being too emotional about it, because you just might take the wrong step, which would trigger what you never expected, and sometimes you think it to be a weak decision on taking a break but that is not the case but that would help you restrategize and refresh your strength and capablities to start again. So, in all, taking a break is not really a sign of weakness, but rather you putting your strength under control and not allowing your emotions to overwhelm you.

Quitting is not a “weak” thing to do. It’s actually the best thing to do if you already know that you just keep losing and it’s getting bad for yourself. It takes a lot of effort to completely quit gambling, that makes it hard for gambling addicts to quit. So that doesn’t make you weak because in fact, not everyone can do that.
Never have I thought that quitting in gambling is weak. But i also understand that quitting is hard cause i also experience that sometimes. But if you look differently, you won’t see it as something weak.

Some people say you’re weak because you can’t quit, but then this topic says when you quit, that also makes you weak. So which one is it really? For me it really depends on how the person looks at it. I don’t see myself as weak just because I’m still gambling. I was addicted before, but I was able to control it somehow, that’s why even when I take a break now, it’s only for a short time. I still lose most of the time, though not always that bad, but the amount I lose is still manageable. So for me, it’s not yet at that point where everything is ruined. I know that even if I lose, I’m not going bankrupt from it.

I don't quite understand why you call yourself a “wimp” for acting logically and correctly.
Peoples who think they are strong and is into gambling addiction and narrow minded only thinks that quitting gambling is the way of a wimp. These people have too much ego but small brains that misunderstand personal preservation as a cowardly thing. It's like calling yourself a coward for only crossing the street when the light is green and not running across when it's red! From here, we already see the sign that the person is not thinking logically. Why choose the risk when one can just cross the street conveniently when the pedestrian signal is a go. Irga, especially when it comes to money, it requires willpower, clear rules, and FOLLOWING THEM. It has to be a process that you control and manage, and you’re doing the right thing by walking away from the game, understanding the risks of continuing to play unsuccessfully.
In summary, these people have no willpower to control their gambling activities and discipline, thus saying those who quit are weak is just an excuse for not be able to control their gambling activities. That is precisely the huge problem with people who have ADDICTIONS-they don’t fight their addictions; instead, they look for excuses and try to justify their weaknesses. You can argue endlessly and say things like “you don’t understand the situation,” “you don’t understand what my life is like,” … but all of that is ADDICTION! Any addiction is destructive to a person! Why do we even have to let gaming turn into an addiction? Why can’t it just be simple entertainment with a set of rules you set for yourself?

You know what! Just run, flee from that deadly voice because that's the trap and an addictive sound that is totally out to lure you into that which you know isn't right for the main time. Come to think of it, something says stop and take a break. You know you ought to take a break. The feeling says stop. Your mood, everything wants you to stop, but the voice days go back and take one more try, recover all and move on. Lol. That's the addiction voice. The voice from hell that wants you to lose all you have laboured for so you go home empty and face all nonsense and regrets. Quiting is never a sign of weakness, but of boldness and courage. Am glad I took the bold step to stop when it became necessarily important. We must ignore that inner voice of persuasion and stop when the beed arises. We must be careful to overcome, and the more we avoid the voice, the more we overcome addiction

To be honest, many people get this feeling, you are not alone. Actually ego works a little here, it seems like I lost if I quit. But to be honest, being able to stop even after repeated losses is actually a very hard thing. Keeping control over yourself is not a weakness but a maturity. And what you are saying, going back even after knowing, I think it is very normal. Habit and emotion pull together, so a gap is created between the brain and action, In my opinion quitting does not mean running away, but rather stopping your own losses. It is not easy, so those who can do it are actually strong.

If you think that quitting gambling is the best option to do to save your life from being addicted or causing serious harm to yourself , then why waiting, you just have to stop, deceiving and not accepting the truth or feeling less and weak of yourself will not help you. Those gamblers that are not strong or fit anymore quits, it does not bring you less, it's just your mindset .

The first step towards recovering health is to develop the strength to accept that a habit has outgrown its proportions and has started to jeopardize the tranquility of mind. Stopping can never be called a loss, but a great triumph over a self and protection of material well being and family finances. No good will come out of feeling inferior and therefore working on mental improvement is a pressing need in the current context. Faith in your greater day when you are not bound by the chains of addiction will also provide you with new power to pass all the stage of life.

Sometimes when I try to stop gambling, especially during a losing streak, I end up thinking that I’m weak for wanting to quit. Like part of me says as a man I should just handle it, recover the losses, and not run away from it.
This is what we call as ego. This ego will try to provoke us to keep gambling although we keep losses in every attempt in the gambling games.
This means you still can deal with your ego. It is good, you have good self-control. As long as we have this, we will always think in a realistic way. Sure, we must stop it temporarily at least once we have lost too much money. There is no advantage to keep gambling when it seems no longer in a good condition. Regarding the decision to stop gambling permanently, it fully depends on your own condition. If you always get the difficulty to deal with emotion or with ego, I think it is the right decision to full stop any activity in gambling. But if you still can deal with everything, no problem to gamble again with a better approach. For you guys, have you ever felt like this too? That quitting feels like weakness at first, but in reality it might be the hardest and smartest thing to do?
No. I never think stopping the gambling games is my weakness. It even indicates that I am quite strong to control myself.
