I have seen most of our posts here talk about how to gamble responsibly, how to beat gambling addiction, or how to help people those who are battling addiction.

Yes, we all know gambling can be so addictive and it could be the worst addiction in the world. But why is gambling can be so addictive in the first place? What makes its the world's deadliest addiction?

Personally, my own stance here is that it can be addictive due to different factors. Dopamine rush, the uncertainty of not knowing when the next win, chasing losses, compulsive gambling, and lastly because of its easy access and technology. And by seeing the increasing rate of suicidal with gambling, therefore I can say that its the most harmful and deadliest addiction in the world.

No matter how I try to view it, gambling addiction is mainly caused by lack of control; everything can be controlled as long as you discipline yourself, no matter the reaction you are getting in your brain, the thrill to always continue because it feels like the next one can be it. There should be a level to it when you call yourself back to order.

I'm going to take the trouble to respond—not because I'm addicted to these topics (there are plenty of experts here on the forum)—but because I believe these kinds of discussions are always important. However, they need to be considered within their proper context.
It's essential to know whether the people bringing them up are genuine, and whether the context is truly comparable, based on real statistics: for example, how many hours I play certain casino games, my profit and loss graph over X years, or how long I've been able to stay healthy, etc.

Within your context, you can't be so sensationalist with phrases like 'lethal.' There are many things in life that are dangerous—painkillers, traditional drugs, and even sugar is addictive... sex.

Most addicted gamblers are greedy, never content with small wins, always hoping for a big win. You can also see why people return to gambling because they've had big wins, so they know how easy it is to win, unlike in the real world, where you have to use your energy and mind to get a piece of money. This may not be the main point, but it's always a niche for those who start their addiction.

People who never win money from gambling or experience a surge in their balance while playing will never become addicted and will never return to a casino.

I will say everything has its nature and addiction is one of the functional features of gambling that can not be eliminated  but only controlled to an extent even if you are the most cultured gambler on earth.  There is one special feature possessed by gambling that other activities do not have, which the certainty in uncertain outcomes,  gambling makes games look very sure and accurate that one can stand for without know that its outcome may turn negative at last and because the confidence one can easily go above expectations which is then considered as gambling addiction. 
In conclusion,  one thing I know and believe about gambling addiction is, it can only be controlled but not be eliminated completely.

most of us know exactly what makes many of us who are into gambling to be addicted, for someone to be addicted in gambling it shows that the person is not gambling responsibly, if a gambler gambles responsibly the person will not be addicted in gambling to the extent that it will be obvious, so to control gambling addiction, we have to know that we need to strategize in a way that we know our boundaries in gambling and do not gambled with what we cannot afford to lose,

Most people today who are addicted in gambling the reason why they are addicted, it is because they have the agenda of pursuing their losses and if a gambler start pursuing it losses it will make the gambler to be addicted in gambling very fast without delay, so if someone want to control it gambling addition or if the person want to gamble responsibly the person should set up a limit so that it will not spend more than what they want to spend in gambling

There add lots of reasons why gambling is addictive and one of the reasons why is due to greed, the game is designed to keep people trapped that's the reason why they keep on gambling even when they are making profit or losing. without self control gambling is going to be a game of losses because lack of discipline leads to poor results. Actually, gambling is not any close from being one of the worst addictions on the planet.
When comes to deadly addictions, crack cocaine and fentanyl comes to mind... You know, the kind of substances which can literally strip you out your identity and will.

Anyways... Gambling addiction is actually very studied and understood. It is a behavioral condition in which one's brain generate dopamine because of the constant stimuli of losing, winning and the always present uncertainty that comes with random number generators.

If someone was inmune to one's own dopamine, that person could not possibly become addicted to gambling or any other behavioral conditions.

I think a different reason is that those who are addicted to gambling do not become addicted by betting at an older age. Most people start gambling at a young age. At that time, having a lot of money is a dream for them. At this age, money means power and moments of pleasure are created mentally. In the beginning, they bet out of this greed. You've basically answered your own question, good list but let me use this this say that addiction to gambling is not actually the deadliest form of addiction in the world, no, this is absolutely false.

Now, let me explain a bit, the only way gambling addiction kills is if the gambler go ahead to commit suicide, this is the only way we can say that someone died from suicide and so on as a result of gambling.
But then on the other hand, there are some addiction that either slowly or rapidly leads to death whether the victim committed suicide or not, the victim it pass on not too long, example of such addiction is addiction to hard drugs, hard drugs kills and destroys the human organ and body system over time, some body who's addicted to hard drugs will over sooner, whether suicide or no suicide, this is much more deadlier than gambling addiction.

Gamble is not the wolrd deadliest addiction if we define your choice of words for what they are. If you mean deadliest form of addiction then you should have mentioned substance abuse that would have fit in with the word deadly. On a lighter note I believe gamble can be very addictive even for those who are discipline it might take a lot of convincing and situations to get some people change their perspective about gambling and fall for the trick of addiction. When gambling we must be careful not to get too carried away with the idea that one can make money from gambling because that's where majority of the problem start.

You pretty much sum it all up, those factors are the biggest contributor of gambling addiction. Of course, everyone gamble to win big money and that could be the main reasons for all of us to try and stake our hard earn money.

Others gamble as a form of escape to their problems, but they didn't know that it will just create more specially if they become addicted gamblers. And so there is a loop that we can't really escape until we snap and break the habits, but it's very very difficult.

But it's not the deadliest addiction though, I think still drugs as we have seen numbers growing every year of people dying of overdose.

No doubt dopamine affecting someone to keep playing gambling as they chasing that feeling without care if they lose money. People difficult stopping themselves when that feeling comes as gambling will be looks tempting them to wins more.

from my own perspective, addiction come because a gambler thinking about their losses, thinking about get the money back, when lose, they will makes another deposits, they unable to control him self, and unable to stop thinking about gamble again. A mindset to "bet once again, get money back, may winning more etc" become the factor why gambling so addicted. even someone can control himself when gamble, if they are still have a plans to gamble again, that still part of addiction. gambling for fun and addiction is very close, even someone saying they are not addicted, it's just a profe if he addicted already.
