Oh my god, this is the worst news I've heard regarding gambling addiction. I only heard/read news like this about drug addicts and the worst I've heard about gambling addict is losing all his/her fortune and family but this one is different, killing your own mother who gave birth and took care of you because of your gambling addiction is too much. It's a very sad story indeed and I must say it's just one of those things we get to see in a daily news even though if it doesn't involve gambling activities, it could be something else and it's just one of the vice and ills present in our society today.

I am very surprised that this has not yet been televised- isn't there any actual link to the story on where you got this news OP? If everything what you said is really true, then I see no reason for the local officials to arrest the suspect and proceed with trial.

Going back to the story, it is indeed unfortunate that gambling really brings out the worst in people. Everything that revolves and involves money, people would cloud their judgement and compel them to do acts that are immoral, illegal, and sadistic.

Honestly frustration can make someone or push a person to behave abnormal or badly but still yet it does not remove any personal responsibility on what the person has done, being an addict or having anger issues is not another excuse for going as far as harming someone.
