Do you think its more wiser to invest on a durable indestructible backup solution that are designed for storing 12 or 24 recovery seed rather than buying an actual hardware wallet?
I am asking this question because I am at crossroad, buying a hardware wallet still requires user to keep his or her recovery seed safe offline, like I've read many times on this forum.
This is what I am able to use my baby brain to come up with.
1) I should buy the indestructible metal/stainless steel and download Electrum wallet then use the steel to secure my recovery seed. 2) I should just use the money to buy a hardware wallet instead.
What should I do? Which do you think it's the best move.

It really depends on what you're trying to do here. I mean if you're spending on a regular basis, it's probably best to buy a hardware wallet. Only If you're planning to create a wallet, send funds to it and not spend anything until bitcoin reaches a certain price I would recommend the first option.

It is not a good reason to buy a metal backup but be using an online wallet. But if you want to make use of Electrum on an airgapped device, that is a good option that you can go for.
But online wallets are not advisable for high amount of coins. You can get a hardware wallet and backup your seed phrase on paper and store it in two or three different locations.
If you feel insecure with this, extend the seed phrase with passphrase. This is very important, but if you don't have access to your passphrass (just like your seed phrase), you will lose your coins.

If you Wants to use Hot wallet with metal hardcoded seed phrase it's still a hot wallet. Just youre seed phrases are indestructible. Either way your wallet is not safe from malware. Other hand hardware wallet keeps the wallet key in offline which is more safe in daily life use case. So my suggestion would be, if you wants to achive the maximum security layer for your wallet use both hardware wallet and a metal steel for your revovery seed. The rule is simple , make some more layer reduce your convenience

You need to adjust according to your needs and situation. Doing both is actually possible. But if you want to do it gradually to minimize your expenses, the first step can be done first. However, if your need is to invest a large amount, I think you should prioritize a hardware wallet. Regarding how you store the recovery seed, you should be able to handle it. Just do it gradually according to your capability. The more assets you hold, the more you will think about ways to make everything safer.

The electrum, is it run as an airgap wallet or as hot wallet? Buying a metal plate to engrave seed phrase from hot wallet is like opening your main door and closing the windows, you are doing nothing much, your private keys are still on the internet, it's not a safe practice to keep Bitcoin for long term unless it's an everyday spending wallet. However, if you are doing the back up of your airgap electrum wallet, then that's fine, your wallet back up is safe. Hardware wallet is the best practice, you can go for cold storage that are airgap, this is are like the regular hardware wallets but they are not DIY wallet like electrum airgap wallet, they don't make connection with the internet. Some companies that produce them also include metal plates but it will cost you extra cash when you buy it online but most often, you get better metal plate than the one you may buy from other places.

Electrum is a software wallet that can be recommended as a good software wallet, but every user needs to be careful not to be careless in the installation process even though Electrum supports hardware wallets. But online wallets are not advisable for high amount of coins. You can get a hardware wallet and backup your seed phrase on paper and store it in two or three different locations. Online wallets are too risky if used as wallets to store large amounts of coins. It is correct to choose a hardware wallet and then back up the seed phrase which is stored in several different places. Maybe using the media as mentioned by the op is also possible.

I concede to this and I think the OP should consider it but regardless we aren’t to limited, one can have the first option where to keep funds that won’t be spent in a long time, and also have another wallet which is a hardware wallet where to keep for regular spending.

I want to answer directly, if you want to store large amounts of investment funds, then a hardware wallet should be a good choice. If you have other purposes, then you should prioritize that purpose and choose the necessary wallet. I do not consider Electrum to be very safe for long-term investments.
Saving the seed phrase has nothing to do with determining the wallet. You need to find a strategy for saving the seed phrase according to your location and the security system in your area. In both cases, the seed phrase is very important for backing up your funds, you can independently use your own strategy for saving the seed phrase. Be careful that the extra security does not prevent you from accessing the funds.

Don't think indestructible is the word more like more resilience to certain hazards There's no best Here It all boils down to your preference and what you looking for. Securing your seedphrase goes past the material used, the where and how matters.
Hardware wallets are usually adviced for huge sums to prevent the risk of an Hot wallet.

From these two options, I feel you think you no longer need to save your seed phrase if you go for a hardware wallet. If so, that's not true. People go for a hardware wallet to have a cold storage and they still need to save their seed phrase. It's always recommended to have a cold wallet. To have a cold wallet, one option for you is to run a trustworthy wallet like electrum on an airgapped device and another option is to go for a good hardware wallet. In both cases, you need to save your seed phrase somewhere secure.

For me ,based on your concern about this, I kind of think the best way to tackle this is to choose both, considering your every day usage, you should go get a hardware wallet, and use a metal seed storage if you want an indestructible backup solution for the storage of your seeds, this is a secure way in case it's damaged and if you think about the risk of misplacing your hardware drive, Then ensure that you store the metal backup phrase in a very secure offline place such a safety box where it can be only accessible to you or any close confidant.

As hosemary said, even if you decide to get a hardware wallet, you will still need a method of keeping your seed phrase safe. My suggestion is to combine both of the options you listed. Buy a high-quality hardware wallet (if you truly feel you need one), and as for the metal plate for storing your seed phrase safely, just make it yourself. there are many options for how you can engrave words on metal. Its a much cheaper way to ensure your backup survives fire or water damage without overpaying for a brand-name kit.

I think he gasps fully well the idea behind a hardware wallet. What I feel his issue now is trusting which one kf these methods would be most secured. We know there's no one perfect method of storing out keys. All method has it's flaws. He should make use of what he understands the most and that which he would be able to secure. Hot wallets if properly managed can stay secured for a long time except one actually exposes its keys.

I stand corrected. I missed that part of OP's post. Hot wallets if properly managed can stay secured for a long time except one actually exposes its keys.
Any online device is always prone to hacking. There's a possibility that your device is infected with a malware or compromised and if that happnes, you may not realize it until it's too late.
