I have started gamble for fun but later I have started playing to recover the loss amount and few times when I could recover I tried to win more and more which though finally turns into huge loss and recently almost a year I have stopped gambling and still I am on that process.

There's probably three forms of gambling that I'm into really, but all of them are casual - I don't have any schedule, expect to do them on a weekend, it's just whenever it pops into my mind on the odd occasion. Firstly is a national lottery, where the prize can grow quite big and I tend to participate after it hits the hundred million mark or larger. It has such tiny odds of winning that it's just like buying a nice dream, of what you might do on the tiny chance you win. Second is sports betting, I've got an account that I sometimes dip into once a month and see if any horse racing odds look decent, then do a spread of them. Lastly is actually going to a real world casino occasionally with a group of friends, sometimes as part of a night out drinking and just play a little as basic entertainment.

There are people that Will claim that what motivate them into gambling is because they want to have fun which may not be true. However, as far as am concerned the main reason why I gamble is to make some cash. Though, I don't gamble all the time to avoid being addicted.  The majority of the people that are into gambling is doing so because they want to make money and I don't see anything bad with that, it is only when they over do it that's when it is wrong.

I seriously doubt that anyone gambling and making bets are just doing it for one reason alone.
While it might start out as purely a money making venture we can have fun while doing so and
also make bets when out friends are doing so = FOMO.

For me personally I do it to try and win and make a profit, same as everyone but I make sure not
to do so when i'm bored, I think this can lead to making more mistakes.

I get you even though people do say they gamble for fun, the hope of them winning it's always somewhere in their mind what matters most is how it being handled, if it's a small budget for enjoyment or some sees it as a means to survive because everyone has different perspectives about it and what shows the difference between a responsible gambling and risk habit is the mindset and self control

I’ve always gambled for fun. I never bet enough money for it to really matter to me either way what the result is. I like the pretty lights and fun sounds when I win. I think of slot machines more like video games than money making opportunities.

A lot of people would say that they gamble for entertainment but that's not really the truth, most people actually gamble to make profit. For most gamblers they gamble for fun because they are rich but you hardly find gamblers that are not rich gambling for fun. Personally I'm not rich so whenever I gamble the main objective is always for Money and nothing else.

All the above. I have gambled for the sale of fun, for monetary gain and also didn’t stop gambling because I thought I’d miss my chance of winning big, so I have gambled for all the reasons.

If any gambler tells you that they have never gambled for profits then they are simply lieing to you, you could start with the fun only type of gambling but with time you’ll find yourself transitioning to profit and then you’d start to treat it like norms. So at one point all gamblers did chase after profit so no one if free from it, what they do after matters the most.

It could be mixed though, sometimes I will just play out of boredom, depositing small amount with just minimum bet. Just trying to pass the time and then having some fun in the end. So even if I lose that money, that's it, I'm not going to not have some good sleep.

But there are times that I want to try to see my luck if I can win some money and I guess that could also be in the minds or the reasons why most of us really gamble. We are all "hypocrite" to say that we don't want free money from gambling.

Honestly, I have already given up on the possibility of getting any significant amount of money out of gambling and also betting.
I have understood that my place within this ecosystem as a gambler (casual one) and inexperienced bettor is to seek for entertainment and amusement while engaging with dices, slots and plinko.

I have already suffered some losses which I considered them to be my wake up calls and have made me realize how dangerous addiction and greed can be.

Money, because you stake it and so in return you might have to double what you risk, simply as that. Of course there might be someone who says that they gamble for the heck of entertainment or fun. But at the end of the day, you might have to think about your loses.

Maybe early on it could have been per pressure, you might have friends who have friendly bet early on and so you want to join the crowd. And later on, it became bigger like in sports betting.

Boredom? That could be a bad idea as for sure you gamble and lose because you don't have any direction on your betting.

Mostly money for sure, I do not see any trader or gambler that doesn't really include the profit or money as a reason of doing gambling, It is always on the list as one of the reason why there are doing gambling, I mean for sure people im actually amaze that money or taking profit is not actually there main reason for doing it, for some people it might be just entertainment, but I guess there were just some preference that is going to be different for sure and some that you like might not like by other people.

Personally, my main reason is just money, and I think it is the main reason for sure, for most people, because if we take away the money on the gambling side, can we even call it gambling anymore? Or are there any people that is going to still gamble without really having the bets or money involved? I think it is just the main driver of gambling, other reasons are just a bonus for some people, or maybe they want to gaslight themselves, thinking that they are getting something aside from losing.

Right at the start, when I was young, what drew me in was the prospect of making money. I think that’s what attracts us all – the chance to make money quickly without having to put in much effort. However, over time I learnt that it’s not a good way to make money, as you can’t beat the house; the thing is, I’d already got into the habit. Nowadays, it’s more of an occasional pastime where I know that some days I’ll come away with more money, but in the long run it costs me money.

For money, nothing else. I think the entertainment is just the medium kind of bonus considering you got the chance to watch the game you love plus your team and players you idolized. Well, I think a lot may agree in this because considering we gamble our money to make some money, ain't that rocket science to be honest if you take a look at it.

This is basically the same thing for me as well, I gamble mostly when I am bored and this most of time the is during the night hours when I ought to be sleeping.
I often find myself having insomnia most of the nights which causes me to be unable to sleep, of sometimes especially when there is no electricity to maybe watch movies or play some good and cool music, I always have my mobile phone by myself and what I usually will do is instead of just laying there on my bed and counting ceilings, I pick up my phone, open my favorite casino, copy my wallet address and make a small deposit and look for a good slot game to play..

I usually do this until I finally fall asleep which sometimes, it's even with my phone in my hand 😹
So for me, I don't really gamble because I want to win money, no, though if I win money in the process, I definitely won't reject it, my gambling purpose is mostly to have fun.
