Honestly, when I was just starting out and learning about gambling, it went like this for me: peer pressure, money, entertainment, and boredom, all of this in exact order. This is how I viewed gambling before. I was young back then, and I still did not understand how gambling works. But today, it has completely reversed. I don't care much about the money when I place a bet on my favourite team, I normally treat it as a bonus when they win. I haven't put a bet on any other gambling games these days, but sports betting, and it's purely for entertainment. No FOMO for me, but sometimes when I'm around my friends who love watching the same sports as me, I sometimes make bets more than what is normal for me, and I might call it a little bit of peer pressure there.

I guess the answer to your question is peculiar to each individual, there probably is no general answer to this question, some out of boredom, some to make money, some to socialize, the reasons are not general.

Personally, I gamble if I see an opportunity to make money. Thought that there is a chance to loose money is not fun to me at all, the only thing that can motivate me to gambe is the probability of making money, that's why I am a seasonal gambler. If I see a game and feel like, yeah, this game have a high chance of playing this way, I look for few more games to have a parley, do not use too much money, then place the bet. I hate loosing unnecessary money lol.

I do sports betting. Although in the beginning I used to take other bets, my goal was to earn money. But instead of earning, I lost more. So I moved away from that thought. Now I bet in the sports section. And the goal is always to make a profit. But I don't bet beyond my capacity. And if I make a profit, I use that money for other entertainment purposes. Because I want my gambling loss and profit to always be about entertainment. Even if I have the opportunity, if I win a large amount of money, I don't spend it on other necessary things. Because if I keep doing this, maybe my thinking will change. Again, my gambling goal is to earn money as before.

I have to be very honest with you on this matter because nobody gamble just like that, it's mostly because of the money involved that has made so many gamblers to be involved in it, possibly despite they will always say they are doing it for the fun but the raw truth their is that they also need the money alongside. However I am not excluded either but what I can't compromised is my peace of mind, I'm aware of the implications involved in getting addicted so I always watch my steps so I don't fall victim, Furthermore, I have always been minding my steps in as much as I also need potential winning too, I don't gamble aggressively, I always worked with my budget so that I wouldn't cross the line unknowningly to me, I don't chase loses and that's what has been keeping me going

Majority that gambles are for the money , if you watch very well they are always chasing the big bag , the word fun is just a means or way to make your body feel alright so that the loses won’t affect you that much , gambling is supposed to be for entertainment but not everyone bet for the fun , you can’t constantly lose money and still call it fun, so to me it’s for the money , because if it’s not the money many won’t be gambling again .

Another topic where everyone will lie that they gamble only for fun and they dont care about money at all. I see no point of asking what person gamble for, because he will never confess that money matters to him, and we have topics with similar question or discussion. You wont learn nothing new here. Everyone here will say they gamble for fun and entertainment. I suppose some will say that they do it for money, and even confess they are in a loss. I only gamble to hit the max win which falls under the gambling for money category listed here. However it is far more dangerous than just gambling for money as most people who gamble for money are happy to quit when they have gotten like 3x to 5x their initial balance but for people like me playing for the max win we always lose because the max win is extremely rare yet is like searching for the holy grail in gambling and that is why I am so passionate about it despite costing me a lot of money to be lost, I still keep going searching for it.

Honestly it's literally for money and for fun, there are times that I have spare cryptocurrency I don't use and it was just there sitting in my wallet and I'm thinking instead of it sitting in my wallet, it's better to make something out of it since in couple of weeks I may be forgot it anyways, so what I do is transfer it to gambling site try to make money out of it while also having fun and fun usually comes on winning honestly, although there are times that losing could be fun such as watching esports which I really prefer most after football. So to answer your question, it's actually for money with a little bit of fun especially when winning.

For me, I don’t think there’s a particular reason, it depends on how I feel at that particular time. There are times that I just feel tired or bored with work stuffs and other things and I don’t wanna leave the house, I just fund a little amount on my casino and play to while away time and honestly it does cheer me up most times.

Entertainment is first for me. As a sports fan, I enjoy placing bets on games. Wins bring some level of satisfaction, while losses lead to the opposite. The next driver or motivator is money. I have no intention of just wasting my money on sports betting without gaining. So winning some money could help me sort out my needs. Boredom only comes in when my favourite sports leagues are on break. During that time, I engaged in casino games because of boredom.

They see gambling helps them making money but not many people can really making money from gambling so that should not makes others still playing gambling for money. Casual gambler here, I do it online what I have enough money for the week, sometimes I earned too less and that's surely going to be a no gambling week. My gambling activities depends on how much I make in a week, if it's a good week on my business side then why not? And also I don't risk too much, losing the money is highly likely than making money.

For real when i first learnt about gambling, i was simply amazed by the fact you could make money by playing games online, i first saw gambling through casino games, and i just wanted to experience that but overtime i became more conscious with it, till the day i just said let me stop for now. I do believe if i get enough money and my projects are done i might return back to gambling and just keep the fun up.

I realized the fun is the best part of gambling otherwise you are just deceiving yourself if you belive you can truly earn from gambling, therefore, the only thing left is just the fun you get from gambling and you need a good amount of money to catch that fun and still be labeled "gambled responsibly" because you can afford the fun, if you catch my drift....

I wasn't into gambling before but when I try to bet randomly and won, I started to study gambling and navigate how to make more wins despite the edge is always on the house. Maybe its my first profits that drive me more into gambling. I guess my main goal is for entertainment. Since from time to time we need to relax and I find gambling relaxing for me but ofcourse theres an intention too of winning the money or profited on it. Man, For me right now, it’s kind of in between fun and money…

Like yeah, I am playing for fun… but at the same time i am still a bit money conscious. Because why not ? at the end of the day, there is still that chance of winning right?  so that money side can’t be completely ignore. 

But I don’t let that money side be the main drive though.. The main drive is fun, then for sure money comes inbetween..
