Sometimes I sit and can't help but ponder on how we as Nigerians have had to delve completely from being a post-scarcity, abundant, flourishing, hegemonic country to a now survivalist country.
‎We get so affected by external shocks and news of other countries and regions, so economically fragile, have resource scarcity and have to survive on just getting by a day, yet we still claim to be the giant of Africa all due to poor leadership.

‎Besides having inflation and volatility affecting prices of goods, services and commodities in the country, there's also the issue of unregulated prices among local merchants who fix their own prices without being regulated, thereby creating an unstable price system that is different from place to place.
‎Na we be our own problem from a point of view and it's just mind boggling.

‎What is our problem in this country really?
‎How can the system of this country be improved both economically and otherwise, because I don't think that inflation alone is our problem?

The part about unregulated pricing is very real cos in many places prices are just based on how the seer feel at that moment and this alone creates confusion and makes life harder for the average people because nothing is predictable anymore. I also agree with your point that we are all part of the problems as well because starts to adjust in ways that even makes things worse. So for me I’ll say the main issue is just the structure, why because a country can not grow when there is no strong system guiding how things should work economically. Leadership matters a lot but the system itself also needs to be strengthened so that things don’t just depend on individual feeling. I believe improvement will definitely come with better police’s and discipline from both leaders and the citizens.
