I watch a certain streamer when he's on and I am awake. His streams start out normal but after 7-8+ beers or more you'll see him go to pocket dice or a certain slot and proceed to lose his whole balance. The whole time he is sitting there losing he keeps whining, "this has to hit, this has to hit" it seems like that statement is on repeat til he busts.

People need to realize that nothing has to hit and each result in independent of the next. You could win 100x in a row or you could lose 100x in a row on originals, slots, table games or whatever. Sports you can control a little bit more but anything can happen in a sporting event also.

But does it really work like that in real life, or are we just fooling ourselves because we dont want to accept that losing can still continue no matter how many times we already lost.

I wanna know if others here also think that way sometimes. have you ever felt that after a long losing streak, your win was already getting close. and did that feeling help, or did it just make you lose even more.

There’s no guarantee that you will win after you lose a lot but there’s always a chance for win to come or else the casino you are playing is rigged since there’s always a winning percentage on each bet which means a win should come.

However, if we are talking about winning session after so many losing sessions then it’s a different story since there’s a lot of factor that contributes to losing session such as too greedy bets and unable to take profit when they have the opportunity.

Nevertheless, gambling always has win or lose. You will soon experience some win if you experience losses. We shouldn’t just keep chasing it.

Yes, sometimes I think like that too. Especially playing slots and roulette. Like the next spin will be the big win that's awaited. But that feeling doesn't help anything besides keeping the enthusiasm for betting when you have already experienced a losing streak. If you continue to follow that kind of mindset, all that will happen is losing even more.

Yeah I think like this all the time but really I am owed nothing. A losing streak doesn’t mean I am due a win, even if it feels unfair and I think I should be due a win.

Just remember to only gamble with amounts you can afford to lose because the mindset of supposedly being due a win can get you in a mess.

I think a lot of gamblers get stuck in that mindset. the more you lose, the more you start believing that a win has to come soon. like it just doesnt feel possible to keep losing forever, so you convince yourself the next bet might finally be the one.
(.....)
I believe this is just superstition, and it's very common. But it also depends on what game you are playing and the odds, because if it's 50% guaranteed, you cannot escape the streak here, it's already proven, even how you are thinking you already due for a win after a streak, you still can't guaranteed and most people here are losing money or bankcrupt like 0 balance because they tend to go all in as they expecting to win already.

But for my own experience, I'm more on opposite side, like I tend to ride on the momentum instead of chase losses and hoping a due for a win after a long streak of losses.

The human psyche sometimes works in this way to justify actions that do not lead to the expected result. This is called self-deception, and it's not terrible when a person knows how to deal with their emotions, realizing that gambling does not guarantee regular winnings. However, you can fall into the trap of your expectations, hoping that with a long game, a positive result is required.

I think a lot of gamblers get stuck in that mindset. the more you lose, the more you start believing that a win has to come soon. like it just doesnt feel possible to keep losing forever, so you convince yourself the next bet might finally be the one.

Sometimes that is also when people start doubling their bet after every loss. because in their head, they are already due, and one win could recover everything. it sounds good when you think about it in the middle of a losing streak, especially when frustration is already there and you just want to get your money back.

Yes, you are right, when you go through a long losing streak, you start hoping that the next bet will be a winning one. I think this is normal for all players. And especially if you are familiar with your own statistics and roughly understand the average number of winning and losing bets, a long losing streak creates the feeling that a win is very close.

First of all, increasing your stake after facing a long losing streak is something I consider acceptable only if you do not experience very long losing streaks. That is why I say every player should keep track of their bets to understand how long their losing streaks can be. If you tend to have long losing streaks, you should never start increasing your stake. If your losing streaks are relatively short and usually last only a few bets, then I think it can be acceptable.

But even though I keep track of my winning and losing streaks, I am still very cautious about increasing my bet, because there can always be exceptions that go against you. And if you significantly increase your bet, it can lead to large losses very quickly. So even if you decide to use stake increases, which I do not recommend, be careful with it and increase it gradually rather than doubling it with each next bet.

In slots, yes.

There were moments where you feel like you are going to win it based on the images that come out. It gives free spins a lot of times, and then suddenly it will stop while you have not really reached the ROI yet. Maybe half. After a losing streak, it happens a lot of times, but it's not always enough. I think the system is made like that so that the gambler will go back with the thought of maybe repeating that win after the losing streak. Still, we should not rely on it because most of the time, it is a trap.

I wanna know if others here also think that way sometimes. have you ever felt that after a long losing streak, your win was already getting close. and did that feeling help, or did it just make you lose even more.

In life, I believe there is a universal law, the law of averages.  Many might agree to disagree, but whatever we are doing, the law of averages always kicks in.  It is hardly coded in the universal world, even the flow of life in an ecosystem is always affected by it.  Unless the platform is highly rigged or manipulated, the law of averages also applies to gambling.

So yeah, I always felt that every time I experience a series of losses, a win is due under normal circumstances.  Whether it makes more sense is dependent on many factors.  Like when the platform is heavily manipulated, I spend more than I could afford to lose, or I am too impatient.  These factors can make me lose more, but if I just play my gambling session casually, I think it won't make me lose much before hitting a good win.

~snip~
I wanna know if others here also think that way sometimes. have you ever felt that after a long losing streak, your win was already getting close. and did that feeling help, or did it just make you lose even more.

After a losing streak I always feel more frustrated than thinking that the next bet will win. If I can’t control myself, I will become greedy and try to break the losing streak. Usually I can manage my emotions and either take a break or switch to another type of gambling. For example, if I’m losing in sports betting, I’ll play slots and vice versa. After taking a break, my results are usually better and I can break the losing streak.

I think when someone believes a win is “due” it’s because they are chasing money and becoming greedy.

Sports you can control a little bit more but anything can happen in a sporting event also.
No difference in my opinion, because sports betting is still unpredictable. We always get that feeling that we’re finally going to hit, but most of the time that’s just emotion messing with us.

The law of averages still happens, and even if we talk about finding value or beating the house edge, we can still end up losing in the long run. We keep thinking this is the bet that will finally win, but deep inside we’re really just hoping, not knowing.

So for me it’s really more about risk management than confidence. Don’t be too confident, just stay realistic. Things like that.

another thing people don’t understand about probabilities is that, in reality, nothing actually gets closer to or moves further away from you. i just don’t get people who think that way. also i can’t understand how people can get stuck in such long losing streaks. how high is the risk in your bets that you can keep losing for so long? if you place a bet with a 50% chance of winning, you have a 50% chance of winning. it’s that simple. i don’t think anyone could lose 10 times in a row on a bet like that. if your gambling balance is constantly going down even though you take safe bets, gambling probably isn’t for you at all.

Sometimes we just fooling ourselves by saying the next round will be ours. We don't thinks what will happens if we lose once more and that is because we want to gets our lost money. We are difficult accepting the lost and makes us keep playing.

I don't feels like that but I never continue playing gambling after losing streak. Usually if I lose more than 5x, I consider to stop gambling and although I decide to place one more bet, that will be the end of my gambling. I don't risks too much as I know the losses will makes me sad.

I won't advice anyone to stake a higher amount whenever they are on a losing streak because there's no guarantee that they will win in the next round. In as much as it's a bet, you don't have control over it. As a matter of fact, even though we don't have control over the game, at least we can't be so unlucky for more than a month or two, but that doesn't mean we should increase our stake. The funny thing is that after a long term losing streak and you suddenly win a bet, it might be a very small amount, but we shouldn't be greedy to chase our losses or another big win so that we don't lose even the little we have won.

But does it really work like that in real life, or are we just fooling ourselves because we dont want to accept that losing can still continue no matter how many times we already lost.

I wanna know if others here also think that way sometimes. have you ever felt that after a long losing streak, your win was already getting close. and did that feeling help, or did it just make you lose even more.

that feeling is very common, but it Is actually a trap. In a normal sense of things, every bet is independent. Just because you have lost many times doesn’t mean a win is due next. For instance, If you flip a coin and get heads 10 times, the next flip is still 50/50, it doesn’t owe you tails. In betting, you might lose 5 games in a row and think the next one must win, but it can still lose again. That mindset is what makes people start doubling their bets and chasing losses, which usually leads to bigger losses. So in all honesty, it’s more of a psychological feeling than reality.

It do happen with instincts and works sometimes when I feel that way, the next few spins fetches a certain amount of wins. The problem is that some players try to feel this thing way too early into the losing streak, due to how much they've lost so far in the game. That's the main reason behind, doubling the wager in search for big wins soon, then it begins to linger till nothing is left on the bankroll.

This really hits bro. Actually this always happened even not on gambling but other stuff. Continuous losing means theres really a win that can make us say finally I did it now and thats likely typical on some gambling mindset. I alsp have this thinking all the time. Like more loses I incurred then I talk to myself and says "Someday that win I dreamt will happened cross finger".

No one wants to lose forever so theres always hope I believed.

Which is not possible to always wins, because gambling has already be designed to be a profit and loss thing, which gamblers are to accept the fact and move on, instead of trying their best, even when their best is not enough and is not showing forth any good result, if gambling is not for you, or its not always in your favour, its better for one to quit or stop gambling, because whatever attitude one display last time, they might likely to display even worst than like this and it might affect them negatively.
You are right, gamble is a thing of lose and gain so it's important we accept every outcome of our game at every point in time to avoid lose chasing. Gambling winnings is something we cannot influence regardless our several efforts being put in, it just centered completely on luck basis. Therefore, if you aren't getting what you want which is winning then it's better for you to quit or risk losing all you have got out of your own greed.

On point, people should patronise their mental health over things that doesn't really matter, because they might land themselves into situations that will be difficult for them to escape, while gambling will still continue, which doesn't care if one person is affected or not. Which people are to do the needful by walking away from gambling, when they're no longer getting they vibe they anticipated and to avoid further damages, which will protect getting trapped and unwanted troubles.

I think a lot of people has been there. You know we all talk about the probability and the chances, so someone might think that If they have lost 99 times then they will definitely win the 100th time. It is this "hope" that keeps some people going again and again to gamble. In fact the more they lose, the more they feel the next one is definitely a win. Why quit now when you've already come this far.c
Well it doesn't work like that.
