I remember when there was an issue with the power supply in my area and we didn't have electricity for almost a week. This particular day my phone battery went dead same as my power bank and i didn't go to work, so since I didn't plan going out that day I decided to stay without my phone. To be honest, it wasn't easy as it felt like part of myself is missing so I decided to do other things I've not been able to do due to my busy schedule but I wasn't able to do anything rather I would force myself to sleep and then wake up repeatedly, it was one  of the borest days of my life and I'm wondering if there's a solution to this

We llive in a digital age. Like it or not mobile phones are a part of us now. Without them it's like a part of us has been cut completely. Though not feeling complete without the phone isn't necessary addiction especially when you conduct your day to day business activities there. If all you do is “doom scroll” all day on shorts and waste time on social media for hours then there might be a problem.

Addiction is easily managed with good addictive alternatives that make us happy.
What about smartphone that cause you addiction? Are they good or bad? You should consider good offline alternatives that can replace them. For example, if you love Bitcoin/crypto, you could search for like-minded people to discuss and work on things related to Bitcoin offline. Things like how to use Bitcoin to build a better society that benefits its members and others. I would advice against people whose first or main consideration for Bitcoin (or other things generally) is money. That will move you away from passion or things that make you happy to the wrong direction . Money should just be an after thought or part of the last considerations. What should matter more is doing what you love outside of the internet and using that for the good of others. When people like it and depend on it, you probably should start considering earning a living from that. Or the monetary rewards will come naturally.

Whenever you are bored or without internet you can just do those happy things you do on the internet offline. So, probably create a list of those happy things, and replicate them offline

Have you ever been outside before? Oh wait. In the USA, outside is suburbia where nobody wants to be. Outside is depressing.

Solution is to not use a smartphone at all. To me a phone is just that - a PHONE. I've always carried a flip phone because that is all I want and need to carry. For anything that requires an app I either use my laptop or tablet which eliminates the issue of (easily) being always online.

The solution is, of course, for the sun to send out a big burst of EMP radiation which destroys  all electronics. Wouldn't that be exciting. Most automobiles wouldn't even start. We would have to start all over with communications and transportation.

Nature had forced you to see the solution of it, and that's to completely stop using devices and any of your gadgets which has an access to the internet.

Disconnecting yourself from using those is the only solution. Find an activity that you'll get busy with.

Get into sports, hiking or any recreational activity where you'll spend most of your time socializing with people without the need of smartphones.

The best way to overcome any addiction is through discipline. When you're using your device for what's productive and profitable you do have to worry about addiction. Digital well-being in your device will also help track your phone usage, daily check-in will avoid addiction.

I know how you feel. Because I have fallen in love with my printer Tongue - it is just so good tool that I use it more than I need (I print out even things I desperately do not need to print).

There are no small things in life, all is important.

Is people dont even notice how much time they spend on their phone anymore. cutting notifications and taking small breaks during the day can already help a lot. its more about self control than technology.
