Correct learning never stops in trading and the more we pursue learning and increasing our knowledge about the market then the more we start making responsible decisions and make profits too. New traders always face this over confidence when trading is making high profits for them, but as a new traders they shouldn’t let themselves fall into this ocean of overconfidence instead they could help themselves out by not risking to much and if possible I’ll advice them not to increase their lot size and focus on the minimal one and make much profits first before thinking of taking high risks carelessly.

Traders won’t stop learning, because the moment you stop learning about trading, that is when you start losing more funds when trading. Knowledge and experience make you achieve profits in trading. Nothing always comes easy. If you really want to achieve your goal, you need to face some real challenges. And when you start chasing your capital in trading after you lose, that is the moment you start to fail. Because they don’t chase losses in trading if you really know what you’re actually doing. Taking high risk in trading is the worst thing someone can do when he has not become professional yet.

Well not all traders have the right amount of capital to hold the market for days. Still I understand your points because most folks chase daily profits in trading to an extent that they start seeing it as a job, whereby they will start having the wrong psychology of trading. Instead of entering the market with proper precision they start getting addicted, which leads to revenge trading because they need the daily profits for their expenses. That said what a trader needs to understand is that the market will not always be in your favor. On days whereby the market is consolidating or being unpredictable, the best move to take isn't to look for an entry level, but to study the market. Most times over consistency can even be an issue especially when you are too focused on the market with no rest. And while stop losses help minimize risks, it doesn't entirely fix the fact that the market is unpredictable. If your strategy as a trader often makes you to enter bad trades every day, the stop losses will just minimize the time as to which the market will blow your account that's all....

The thing is, when a trader starts trading and making money he gets overwhelmed with the easy money that he's initially got.
So he starts making bigger trades and end up losing money, then he gets impatient and starts throwing money on his trades.
In the process to recover, he loses more until the point of self realization hits and then he starts learning.
This is the learning process that most traders go through and it never stops. Some times we make money, some times we learn something.
How sure you are that it's easy money for the trader? Who knows? He might've held that trade for days, and being patient is hard especially when it comes to trading don't forget about that. Smiley

Based on what you're sharing, TBH that's me back then when I was starting to learn trading. Losing consecutive times, making bigger trades to recover those losses, being impatient that it came to a point where I feel that I want to recover it as quickly as possible, and in the end, I lost so much money and got liquidated at one point as well. During that time, I was looking at something and I haven't blinked for around 5-10 minutes I think.

At that time, I'm disappointed on myself because of what I did, but after 5-10 minutes, I took a bath, taught of my mistake, learned from it, and move on as well. Moving on is very hard to do especially if its hard-earned money, but if you want to be successful, you should learn how to do it. I stopped trading for weeks after getting liquidated BTW.

For me, there are way, way to many reasons why day traders lose, but let's not think that all of them are losing. There are still many out there that are making buckos off of day trading. Those are the ones who took years before they find a strategy that works for them and made consecutive profits on a monthly basis.

There's no one strategy that works every time. The markets changes and so does the outcome of our strategy every time the market changes.
Yes, not all traders might be losing money, some might be really good at what they are doing but there are many traders who do lose money.
It's the same story for me as well and I guess for many others too. Coming to the easy money part, some people do think trading is easy money initially when they make profits.
Just some clicks here and there and in some time you just made nice profits.

Yes I agree with you, there is no strategy that is perfect, the strategy may be very good today but may not be in the future or as Time goes on, no strategy will give you 100% profit always.
Talking about traders that are very good and not losing, I don't think there's any trader no matter how good you are that is always making profit in trading, some will not tell you that they are losing, they will pretend an act as a very good trader but they actually lose sometimes, no trader on this earth will tell me that he does not lose and that he constantly make profit from trading without losing.

Day trading is better and appropriate for scalpers because they're one responsible for day trading and keeping the movement of the market swift. There's always this mistakes that's usually common between day traders and other traders. They're too carried away with the profits expectations and they forget about the losses expectations. Perhaps not everyone should be negative but truth be told, we expect absolutely nothing but the good and worse from the market.

Risk management should be properly enacted and executed in one's trade because we might just never know how the market is making us do things it want us to do, more like manipulation. The market is just complex and we used our strategies and principles to deal with it.

True but day traders will always lost sight of the profit that they plan to stop at. It might or might not get reached, but they fail to stop at the proper time. More so because the market is having a big chunk of bots who are running their algorithms to trade and you are a human trying to outpace them which is humanely not possible.

Also a reason why day trading is less preferred over long term holding by majority of the traders who are doing this over years. They dont actively buy every day but only during the drops and continue to hold for years. It drains you mentally and physically.

A trader that does not plan for heavy price fluctuations in his analyses will always be a failed trader. Stop lose can be used, but good trading is beyond stop lose. The most important thing is that if bitcoin fall 20% in just 15 minutes which is huge, how much are you willing to be losing at that price point which will determine the amount of money that you will be using for the trading. Most traders do not think like this.
All kinds of traders lose money, whether they are day traders, scalpers, or swing traders. The market is not always easy, so anyone who expects it to always favour them will be shocked when they start facing losses. What traders need to understand is that no matter how good they become, there are times when they need to take a break and let the market be. Winning too much can build confidence, but it can also affect your psychology and make you feel superior. Unfortunately, this is often when the market catches you off guard..There is nothing wrong with taking a few wins and staying away from the market for a while. There will always be good setups waiting for you if you are patient and disciplined enough.

No trader that doesn't experience losses, nobody is 100% perfect in trading, Every trader make profit by luck, even experience trader, do trade with caution...that's to let you know that nobody is above losses and nobody is perfect in trading....

It's obvious that if you always experience profit in trading with your derived strategy, you will feel superior over people who's their losses is higher than the profit they make, basically if you derived a good strategy that leads you to make profit in trading, you're going to be comfortable and dependent on your strategies. Because it never failed you or disappoint you....

Traders won’t stop learning, because the moment you stop learning about trading, that is when you start losing more funds when trading. Knowledge and experience make you achieve profits in trading. Taking high risk in trading is the worst thing someone can do when he has not become professional yet.

Continuous learning is important, but one of the most crucial things I see when it comes to trading is understanding principles. There are people who want to make money overnight through trading, but that is not how it works. We need to understand that you don't have to trade every time and that you have to avoid revenge trading because that is one of the mistakes traders make. They need to understand how to live by knowing exactly what to do even when they are not making profit so that they don't lose more money.  people believe that trading is a simple way to make money, but this is untrue. In order to avoid losing everything, you must manage your risks properly, which is why expertise is crucial.

Actually day trading is getting more and more tougher ever since Donald Trump gets into the white house, I think most day traders are losing money with all the unstable events around the world created by Donald Trump with his massive tariffs war and also the Iran war. Analyzing candlestick chart patterns does not seems to work well anymore for day trading, as just a single tweet from Donald Trump on Truth Social are more than enough to create a huge impact in the stock market.

I don't think it has anything to do with Donald Trump because uncertainties can be caused due to anything at any point of time.
Yes, the markets have shown a higher volatility due to Trump but that has happened in the past too.
Global events do impact volatility in the markets and that is directly impacting the traders but then again, some people make huge amount of money in such volatile markets.

In trading, having profit has never been easy because usually traders have profit by luck or having something extraordinary; in most cases, things have never been easily manageable for them. Trading is having challenges; enough knowledge or experience is also not helpful in many cases. Recently many events are making life difficult for trading because conflicts and tariffs are increasing costs, and traders are not able to handle things easily.
Just because of this, most are facing losses as things are going. It's never been easy for them to survive; there is no doubt the last few years, while Americans brought back Donald Trump, have been making more chaotic things not only for them but also for around the world because he has not had a stable and solid strategy for setting things, bringing more problems.

IMO, even before it has always been so hard.
But with Trump's manipulation through the war and other markets.
The market changes from time to time and this volatility that we're experiencing went up to another level.
Compared to the past years, it's even more and higher this time than it was before.

During that time, I was looking at something and I haven't blinked for around 5-10 minutes I think.

Just some clicks here and there and in some time you just made nice profits.

If your preferable strategy is not longer working for you again due to the changes that occur in the market it is recommended for you to choose another suitable strategy. In some circumstances generalisation is not advisable, but in trading there is no specific or specialisation, so every trader experience loss in one way or the other. Unless you're not a trader, if not, nothing will ever stop you from loosing. But what makes the differences between an experienced / knowledgeable traders and illiterate traders is their level of loss. Being experienced or being professional cannot prevent a trader from loosing, but they hardly experienced excessive loss, because of their knowledge and experience. A professional trader can generate new ideas from old mistakes and use them to prevent further problems.

Day traders lose because they want daily profit in trading, that is where there analyses and strategies are directing them to do. If they know themselves very well, they will know that they are greedy but they will argue and be saying stop loss is good but the greed is still within them. But individuals can choose stop loss or not.

The first mistake traders make is that they are not checking what could be their loss if bitcoin fall sharply and significantly. A good example is what that happened when bitcoin fall from $122000 to almost $100000 on Oct 10, 2025. Many people got their asset liquidated because of the fall.

Traders can not make money daily, but they need to also learn how to lessen their risks.

Scalpers and day traders are only looking for huge profit. They will make money but still continue to trade. Some will lead to overtrading after many daily profit but later overtrading make them to lose. Some traders will make money and become too confidence and increasing leverage which later lead to loss of money.

I think one of the hardest parts of day trading is not always finding a strategy, but managing myself after both wins and losses.
After a few successful trades, many traders start increasing their position size or taking more setups because they feel more confident. The same thing can happen after losses when emotions lead to revenge trading.
In my opinion, risk management is not only about stop loss, but also knowing when to stay out of the market. Sometimes not taking a trade is also a decision.
From your experience, do you think most traders fail more because they lack technical knowledge, or because they cannot control their emotions?

A trader that does not plan for heavy price fluctuations in his analyses will always be a failed trader. Stop lose can be used, but good trading is beyond stop lose. Stop loss positions are good as a strategy to reduce losses from trading and secondly it is better not to trade with the necessary funds. In practice you have to calculate every time how to reduce your average price further. Small purchases work great for reducing the average price. Sometimes you have to stay short and if necessary maintain a long position. You have to be patient rather than taking vindictive decisions against yourself. You have to stop for some time without adopting a buying strategy every time and increase the cash flow.

It will be possible to limit stop loss if you can refrain from entering the portfolio with the necessary funds on a daily basis. How to use the earned funds and even if you have the ability to take risks, it may be wise not to take risks.

Why day traders lose
I used to often do daily trading, but it often ended in failure, the goal was to make a profit in crypto trading, but the opposite happened, at that time I realized why it could happen like this, then I observed myself personally.

In fact, there are several wrong things that I have done, such as being afraid so I dared to cut losses and also being greedy and wanting to end it quickly, as well as thinking that I thought graphic technology was superior to me, I was wrong, what I was fighting against was technology, so I often ended up failing.
When entering the crypto market and carrying out trading activities, I always see momentary price fluctuations, so I don care about continuous analysis, for now I have decided to no longer focus on daily trading, I focus on long-term spot trading, this method is enough to make me get good profits.

Yes, I agree with you, you cannot be too good to avoid losing in trading, no matter how good you are, you are surely going to lose at some point, I think the best thing to do is to take a break just like you have said.
Some set of people, when they are winning or gaining profit, they don’t care about anything anymore. They keep on going and going and they usually end up losing everything.

Traders should learn when to stop and when to start, when you are trading and making profit, It will be better for you to rest and then come back again later, if you keep on going in a particular direction because you are gaining profit, you will surely lose a lot of money if not all your money, so taking a break is very important.

IMO, even before it has always been so hard.
But with Trump's manipulation through the war and other markets.
The market changes from time to time and this volatility that we're experiencing went up to another level.
Compared to the past years, it's even more and higher this time than it was before.
A general market analyst can easily understand that the market is currently being manipulated. Global instability is just an excuse. Common investors are being lured and statements are being made from high levels and the market is rising or falling. So the question is who is benefiting? Most of the profits are being made by those involved in these statements and their family members or close friends or close relatives.
You directly mentioned the name and in fact the market management is going on in such a way that a class of whale investors are earning huge profits by pooling funds from common investors.
In the past years there was an atmosphere of trust but now the market is being managed through technology and false hype, even a less experienced investor can understand.

Aside from sudden market fluctuations, most losses result from mistakes made by day traders whether due to carelessness, emotions, or other factors and in reality, being a day trader is a very demanding task because you face a market full of temptations every day. Often, traders miss the right moment because they spend too much time analyzing, causing their minds to lose focus. Most other losses occur due to an inability to control emotions, to be a day trader, you must be mentally strong.
