As reported by Okay News. A federal Capital Territory High Court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of former Nigerian Humanitarian Minister Sadiya Farouq and her permanent secretary. They failed to appear for arraignment on charges of allegedly misappropriating $1.3 million, and N746.6 million . EFCC is prosecuting the
 case.

It is a difficult thing in Nigeria to see anyone going out of public office without allegations for money laundering. This has become a routine so far leadership is concerned in Nigeria. Honestly, this is a very bad record.
The money that is meant for workers and development is always embezzled without fear of prosecution.

Whoever that is found eating public money should severely face the wrath of the law, and with this people in public and leadership positions will learn to mine their own business, and avoid eating public money.

It’s not just about the allegations itself but the pattern we keep seeing cases come up, headline trends and some how things go quiet without clear conclusion, that is what frustrates people the most. I think it’s is important that due process is followed because if someone is accused, the law should take its full  course and prove the case clearly and if found guilty then there should be real consequences not just talk or temporary attention because accountability is what will start changing things not just exposing the issue.
People are not just expecting perfection anymore, they just want to see that when something goes wrong, it’s is handled seriously and transparently.

What is your take on this?

This is Nigeria where public officers go scout free for allegations of money laundery and theft and that how it has been for ages now, years back we heard that snake swallowed billions of naira, now come to think of it where in human history has snake swallowed money?, we have a very funny set of leaders who thinks they are fooling the masses by lying such a heavy lie, in this case justice will not prevail because the humanitarian minister will bribe his way out so there is no case here.

If those found eating public money is arraign before the court of law and is detained for it I'm sure Nigeria will be a better place because leaders will be held accountable for their actions and integrity will be their top priority knowing fully well that if they temper with public funds they will face the full wrath of the law. The Ex Minister will be set free once the news of the arrest dies down, who has EFCC ever prosecuted in this country for eating public funds?, no one and that to tell you how corrupt the system is. The law is never enforced on the rich but on the poor in Nigeria.

The level of corruption in this country has rotten to the core of every leaders. These guys don't care about the welfare of the people who vote them in, instead it's what will be entering their pocket is what they are running after. So sad, the hardship of this country keeps increasing everyday, instead of them to be using those public funds for something good, they are spending it on themselves.  The law system of this country is very poor, they are being controlled. The top tier leaders who thief money daily are not being targeted. Favoritism is what happening to them. We received lots of Aides from other countries for the development of Nigeria, yet we don't see the impact of those Aides. One thing I know is that this money they keep stealing won't follow them to their grave. If this country is a good working country by now most of these people who embezzles public funds would have been sentenced to jail.

We’ve gotten to a point in this country where hearing about missing funds no longer shock people the way it should anymore and that alone shows a lot about the system. If there were strong consequences and accountability people would be more careful with the way they extort money once they get into power. There should be proper checks in place to prevent all this things from happening because once the money is gone , every recovery doesn’t fix the damage that has already been done. Until that mindset changes, I believe we keep having this same conversation over and over again.

There is one general or unique character possessed by all Nigerians leaders that they find difficult stopping, which is continuous stealing of public funds. If an ex- humanitarian minister  is arrested for such crime i won't say any other thing apart from saying let justice prevail in this case because I see no reason why someone will be elected to administer his duties but will be busy enriching himself all for no other reasons but greed. 
I am happy for this great news but my consign is if they will keep doing it to all but that cannot be possible be because such investigation is only done to those that falls in the umbrella of the losing party.

Most of this things is the after effect of a failed and corrupt system, Nigerians major problem is corruption and a failed system, for someone to contest for any position he/she has to do a lot of campaign and lobbying, huge amount of money is paid to acquire party tickets so tell me which politician won’t steal in other to recover this expenses, especially when he knows that he is not the only one doing it and that if he is caught he will simply defect to APC and immunity will cover him.

Our leaders have failed us and i don’t advise any wise Nigeria to put his/her mind on this politicians because the truth remains they don’t care about Nigerians, it’s their family alone they care about and they are ready to do anything to achieve it, that is why everyday on Tv it’s one borrowing to the other, money that they will launder, it’s well sha.

Nigeria justice system is corrupt that is why politicians have the guts to steal public money knowing fully that they will arraigned in court and the justice system will protect them from prosecution.. The justice system is just the problem because it continue to protect corrupt politicians from facing the full wrath of the law. If our judges could shun taking bribes to defend the corrupt and the guilty, corruption is Nigeria would be curb to the bearest minimum. Saidq Farooq case would die a natural death once the case is presented to the court and Nigeria will no longer hear about the conclusion of the case. What is suitable to address corruption and corrupt practices is military regime, anyone who is caught stealing public money and they is evidence should be executed immediately without a court trial, that way corrupt practices among politicians will stop.

The issue of diverting public funds into personal use is no longer a new thing especially here in Nigeria that our leaders has turn our public offices into their personal businesses where they can do what they want at will without anyone holding them accountable for their actions. However, In a system that their is no accountability of whatsoever, no transparency in managing state allocation and public funds, all they want is just about their personal interest and not the interests of the masses, It's sad because at the end of the day the common man is always the victim.

If you are following up on current issues going on in the society you will see how most of our law enforcement agencies like the efcc, dss and others are arresting most of the governors, senators and the rest of them that was formally in power accusing them of embezzling public funds, and the craziest part is that all this is because they are not a member of the all progressive congress (apc) and also not standing on the mandate of Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) for the next coming general election that's coming up in 2027.

This has become a norms and news like this don’t baffle us again because our leaders don’t even care about the suffering of the people and everyone is just after what they stand to get from the office in the long run. Nigeria politicians are very corrupt in the sense that even the upcoming youths have this mentality that government money is natural cake and anyone who gets to be on that sir should also take a share.

With this kind of mentality we are breeding youths with, do you think the country will get any better soon? Because I really doubt so and don’t think anything of such will happen with the way things are going. I just hope we have an overhaul in the mindset of the public and we get to see things differently than before than we use to when given a chance to represent the country in the most best form and people’s interest at heart first at all time.

I think we should be careful about linking every investigation or arrest to politics. EFCC and DSS operates within a wider system and while no system is perfect, not every case automatically means that it is politically motivated. No, sometimes is is simply another long time investigation finally reaching a point of action. If Nigeria is to improve the focus should be on strengthening the system so that justice is consistent and not selective. So the bigger issue is accountability across the board regardless of who is in power.

I am no longer surprise when I hear this king of news, because this has been the ways of our leaders for a very long time. I really don't think that this will stop any time soon, because even when they are caught they don't get prosecuted for this act, the worst they can do is to ask them to pay a little fine and the case will be forgotten about. In other cases the case just dies off gradually and we the citizens stop hearing anything about the case.
This politicians are above the law, so they just do whatever they want knowing that no one is going to do anything about it. I really pity for Nigeria,  because I don't see this change anytime soon.

It shows how level of decayed the nation has gone beyond because you spare people who have committed crime that need heavy punishment with easy things that is affordable people around divert attention to commiting such as examples of freedom with easy sanctions is there for them. Looting would have reduced to the nearest minimum if they have been given a sound punishment to offenders possibly law that stand like capital punishment, by eliminating any who stole public fund capable of change a society by now everyone who engaged in such would have been afraid of dying but we're the reverse is the case they planted mindset of everyone looking for opportunity to embezzled above others or their predicessor.

When I saw this particular news I was so excited but I always have hate on our judiciary system on how they end cases like this, because the ended up being compromised and that particular person would be moving freely on the street with out any obstacles. Nigerian government is the biggest problem of our problems, because they only prosecute people that are not behind them, that was why I always sad whenever this kind of news comes up because it is not just done with any rules but just because those people did not support them in so many ways.

Nigeria leaders are only concerned with their interest and that particular interest they all have is embezzlement of public funds, we have heard several news about this countless times so we aren't shocked or surprised by it but the question is will he be prosecuted if found guilty of the said crime? Or they will just sweep the matter under the carpet because that's what they always do after being bribe by those that embezzle public funds.

In this country we have heard how a house of Representative embezzle funds and when she was about to be probe she said snake swallowed the money, in a developed and well organized country will such nonsense happen and today the lady is walking freely this country is finished, the government and EFCC only prosecute poor Nigerians and leave the rich that commits severe crimes to go unpunished, those found guilty of a crime should be detained and allow to face the full weight of the law in that way others will learn and this country will be better.
