Honestly a big win gives a person a false sense of confidence. Then he thinks it's not just luck, he's playing wisely. This is where the real trouble starts. Later when he starts losing, he still can't stop, because all he can think about is the previous win. It seems that if he plays again, everything will be fine, In fact this thought slowly drags the person down and he doesn't realize when gambling has turned from a habit into an addiction.

They do this in many areas, not just casinos, to easily lure you in. They know that taking your winnings and leaving isn't something everyone can do.

This isn't totally true because not everyone gets hooked to gambling and stake irresponsibly, A lot of people that get trapped after winning are mostly greedy or just indisciplined. It is easy to get addicted to gambling after the first win because of the ease at which the money comes, this makes them want to keep chasing more. Before you start gambling you must understand that gambling is a game of luck and you cannot always make profit. At the end of the day the choice for gambling to become a trap all depends on the gambler, self discipline is important.

There are different players in the market and there are some that don't take gambling seriously, all they know is to gamble at anytime, trying to make money for themselves without bothering about the side effects of what they are doing.
Some always keep to risk management and gambling budget to reduce the interest to gamble more than the established budget.

Is not that the casino set the whole thing by changing the odds of games to suit the gambler, the whole experience is purely based on the ability of the gambler to actually see their first big win as a normal occurrence because there are so many persons that would actually treat those winning very differently and that's why the saying comes into play that your first win can stand as a trap for you because you can get overwhelmed and decide to go wild with your gambling habits.
