Just like I stated yesterday, there was no way price would resist that draw of liquidity on that equal highs to hit a bog figure which in this case is 80k. So the target came earlier than expected so the worst that can happen now is a retest followed by continuation move to set the pace for a new price regime this quarter onwards.  I will have to evaluate to see possible short terms and long term destinations. 2026 may be better for bitcoin that we thought, the signs are everywhere.

we have gained about 33% since the low in February .

the key is do we keep it and grow. towards 100k or at least 90k

Correct and way more better than those low figures which been predicted to come before. That movement of Bitcoin on which it goes from $60k then regain its momentum and reach at 80k is so huge and spirit lifting for those people got scared about past bearish situation happened on market for past few months.

Now the challenge is if Bitcoin could ever hold unto this level or it can still build some strong momentum then head back at $90k to $100k again. Love to see Bitcoin maintain its strong movement.

The key is breaking or separation of the 4 year price cycle from the 4 year mining cycle.

The price cycle needs to be changed.


It can no longer work if linked  to the mining cycle.


My thoughts are.


We broke the 2021 high before 2024 halving that's new.

If the low was Feb 2026 and we break 126k before the next halving i would think the price cycle is detaching from the mining cycle.

It has happened the way you hoped it would but the question is, are we expecting to see Bitcoin price moving towards $80-85k from now on? Is not going to be easy for the market price to boost to $100k too soon, we know but now we have $80k which didn't just happen in the next 3 week, it took us the whole of the first 4months of this year before we saw this very $80k, from now we should be expecting the market price to be around $80-82k, I hope it doesn't go down below $80k. Sometimes I just wish our expectations works more than we see the price go down.

It's clear that Bitcoin ETFs are currently experiencing strong institutional demand. Today, BTC is trading above $80,000, or more precisely, in the range of $78,254–$81,204. April was the first month in 2026 when flows into spot Bitcoin ETFs showed strong positive dynamics. The total inflow was almost $2 billion, the best figure since October 2025.
From April 14 to 24, there was a continuous nine-day inflow of $2 billion.
After a brief outflow of $500 million at the end of the month, demand quickly recovered.

I thought it will not going to hit above $80k which is a sign that $100k is possible in the month of June. I know some investors will be tempted to sell their BTC in this month of may, because the price of BTC will surely cross $90k before the end of this month for some sellers to exercise patience to hodl till the price of their choice hit market before they can sell to earn massive profits. If you are adding more coins let it be BTC, because there are strong signal already that this green light will stay long for the price to pump higher to hit $90k to move people to start selling.

Some newbies use this short time hodling to learn before they will be encouraged to move to long time hodling, because what you will earn from short time will not be big like what you will earn from long time hodling.

I didn't expect to see $80k anytime soon, but I guess I was wrong.
Today we got as high as $81,751 (per CMC) and it wasn't just a short-lived spike, as we're still holding on above $81k. Pretty good for something that was supposed to be a bear market.
This could be a sign that the famous 4-year cycle patterns are now a thing of the past and we are in a different paradigm. It was expected to happen when institutions took the market over from the retail and because of lower block subsidy (so lower impact of each halving).
What can we expect going forward? Probably BTC's price being correlated with the stock markets, but likely with more sensitivity to negative macroeconomic news.

Yep, Bitcoin finally really crossed $80k, it was even almost reaching $82k. Now, Bitcoin price seems trying to stay above $80k. If this happens, Bitcoin may reach $85k or above.

i think we already touched 80k this month, which is a good one but staying at 80k might be a little bit difficult but we all still hope it does.

Nothing is certain but make sure you buy Bitcoin regularly because no matter how much we guess, we can never be perfect. Bitcoin’s price history gives us confidence. Bitcoin’s structure increases the expectation of future price increases.

Long term holders of Bitcoin are buying more Bitcoin and big whales in the Bitcoin market are constantly buying. BlackRock has bought $1 billion worth of Bitcoin in the last few days. Combining many estimates, we can make a preliminary estimate that Bitcoin will be $150k -$200k this year and the price may increase several times in the next cycle.

I won’t be surprised to see bitcoin reach below $80k this month. It may just dip into $79k or less. But there’s got to be something major to happen for bitcoin to dip into low $70ks again. Right now their chance to stay high is still there especially the $80k support point is still there we can still see it's just that it can't be denied that for now the bull trap will remain but I don't really care because I don't focus on trading so buying now is not a big problem for me.

$80k after a long enough decline from the previous ATH could be a new round for the next bull run especially with the current cycle that some people might still say bearish so the short-term chance might still be in a sideways phase but the goal is long-term, the increase now will be seen as good but even if later bitcoin returns a little decline it will also be even better if it happens because the opportunity to buy at a low price is open again.
