You Should Keep Proof of Casino Deposits

Dear community, we used to threads discussing games, betting strategies, and even the psychology of gambling. Today, I want to bring and highlight something different yet important where every gambler should take seriously.

I ask you to always keep proof of your deposits when using any online casino. This shouldn’t be only for high rollers but also to those who deposit small amounts, because you never know when you get lucky and win an amount where the casino refuses to pay you out.

Let’s make it a habit to save a screenshot or copy the Tx Id of every deposit, and also your account history page. Ive seen many cases where players couldn’t file a proper complaint on platforms such as AskGamblers or even be taken seriously in the forum, simply because they lacked evidence especially after their account was closed.

I think its a good idea to create a folder or document to store this data. You never know when you might need it. For example, a casino may wrongly accuse you of something and lock your account without warning, not able to remember or provide any evidence.

First choose a casino that is reputable, so you won’t have to worry every time you deposit. Because if we keep making our own records of every transaction, then it starts to feel like we’re doing bookkeeping, and that’s not really ideal for gamblers like us.

What I do at least is screenshot my wagers, especially if the potential payout is big like on a parlay, so I still have some proof in case they deny it later. As for deposits, I think we can also just check them on the blockchain. Their address should reflect under their company name, and that alone could already serve as valid proof that we really made a deposit.

My betting account has not been locked before, I do not know how it is, but I think such people should still be able to see their account balance on the gambling site?

I can still easily remembered the transaction that I funded my account on Staked.com few weeks ago which I can check the transaction history on my wallet to see it. But some people may be using many wallets, it will be good to label the transaction an put the name of the gambling site that you sent it to.

Keeping all necessary information Is very important,  at least that is what I do most of the time, I don't know why but I just feel to take a screenshot of every page that involves financial transactions and my bet/game page I mean my active games this make it easier for me to share those images in discussions or to use them as prove of my transactions in case problem arise along the line while I am dealing with the casino.

True, but mainly if you only making occasional transactions. It can still be difficult for people who handle multiple transactions every day, same amount or even forget the exact transaction after a period of time.

Ive personally run into a situation where I mistakenly copied the wrong transaction ID and contacted a casino’s support team. After a long discussion I realized I had shared the wrong ID which was annoying.

Also keep in mind that you might be dealing with a scam casino, in some cases, they may even deny a valid transaction ID sent by you. The blockchain is quite helpful, but there comes a problem when the casino refutes the allegation. And unless the deposit address is marked as a well-known deposit address of the casino, there is no way of proving that you deposited to the said casino unless if you go for those expensive blockchain analytic services.

The most important thing is to stick to well-known and reputable casinos that will let you see other information in your account when the betting or withdrawals are temporarily blocked for investigations.

Actually you should record everything, from the beginning to the end. Whether you are utilizing crypto or fiat, it does not matter and you may need to even prove how you acquired the crypto in the first place -- you never know what strange reasoning they will try to attempt to use your money. People didn't need to prove source of crypto for swap services until one day they all started using random KYC/AML questions which could lead to very difficult cases if one was hit with this very unprepared. On the other side of this, the occasional screenshot or video of the gambling history is good too. You never know how far someone would go in the case of a semi malicious entity. For normal entities one would not expect them to stoop so low and pretend that you didn't even play there at all, because they have reputations to protect.

That sounds correct but it is completely naive and shows a lack of experience with dealing with these matters. In the most serious cases this will never be adequate proof as it actually does not prove anything other than establish a chain of events. Does transaction history prove that you owned the crypto? Does it prove that you sent it? It does not. Only the most basic of checks and issues can be passed with this way, anything more serious is going to require more evidence that establishes your ownership of the coins and with other kinds of platforms even how you acquired it and the origin of the money that was used to acquire it.

It is not  bad at all, you can add label on your transaction to Casino then screenshot the deposit address provided by the Casino. Although in some  tense cases, you might need to provide oder id so screenshotting that is also advisable .

I am not sure if any wallet allow exporting of transaction  history  by Users , but i think it is a usefu feature and can  make it even much more easier for anyone who  want to download their entrie history in one click.

I have been using online casinos for more than 14 years and not once have I faced an issue where I have been screwed over and had to prove this or that. Never had to file a complaint on any mediator sites. A lot of my time in the online world was well before the big KYC push from licensors and wasn't a lot to worry about. You deposited, you played, you were paid if you won from most platforms. This is true but people have the right to request for personal data of their account on the gambling site. I am talking about personal data like transaction history and other necessary things. If the gambling site do not provide it within a month, you can go against the site in a lawsuit for ban and not giving you the necessary information to appeal for the ban on a third party site.

For deposits both on bank transaction history and wallet transaction history, you can see the money sent to the casino. I can not give myself a headache because I know that I can get the transaction from the transaction history. I will say people should not rely on the screenshot but it is good if they snap it. By default, your natural instinct is supposed to tell you to keep all evidence that proves that you had used a particular casino before and that some information may be needed to claim your reward incase you win. That’s another thing too. What OP means is you should at least have the basic requirements ready if you want to build your case. You need proof that you really made a deposit in the casino, and maybe screenshots showing that you actually placed a bet, because once your account gets blocked, it’s no longer accessible and you can’t get those proofs anymore.

Now if the casino accuses you of multi accounting, and you file a complaint because you believe you did not do it, then there should be a third party that will evaluate everything. Both sides, the casino and the gambler, should provide evidence. On the player side, the best you can usually provide is proof of deposit and proof of bets. On the casino side, they should also be required to provide the basis of their findings if they are accusing someone of multi accounting.

And by the way, sports arbitrage betting is another issue too, because even if it’s not exactly the same thing, it may still violate casino TOS since most casinos hate that. So judges or whoever handles the dispute should be careful with that part, because decisions should usually be based on the law, not just whatever terms the casino wants to use.

If a casino wouldn't want to pay up a player they'll for sure make ways to not pay them up and even if you do have those proofs of deposit that wouldn't mean much I guess if they are stubborn in the first place. Well, it might be have a difference because you do have it but in the end they'll still frozen your account, saw some of those case that ends the same fate. Let's be selective next time on the casino we're trying to register, some of these problems will not occur in the first place if we choose the right one and of course don't do anything stupid that makes the casino you're cheating or something.
