Yes, my child, scrolling through short YouTube videos turns into a zombie, watching all the nonsense that is posted there. He watches everything, and it really pisses me off. I'm at war with him, banning time and websites at the router level, explaining to him all his future and his present, and what can and should be done now. This, of course, does not help much, but "water sharpens stone." I will follow and explain.

I don't think so, social media is too broad to do such thing. Let me start by saying social media comprises of Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, telegram, TikTok and many more platforms. Now this platform is owned by different people, if all this social media platform are required to build a treatment center for gambling addict, how is it possible for all to come together to do that? It is definitely not possible. Meanwhile this same thing has been happening in other countries and nothing of such has happened, why must it be Indonesia? It's definitely not going to work.

Social media can be used effectively, like spread the awareness about gambling addiction campaign that will actually stop people from getting addicted and also giving them the possible will be helpful but that is a bit of a stretch to work in real world with all the corruption in the system.

If this were happening in another country, I might still be a little optimistic if parliament proposed that social media contribute financially to gambling addiction treatment. But this is the Indonesian government. I know how bad the government system is there and how corrupt it is. I say it's pointless, the money collected will most likely not be channeled where it's supposed to be.

Yes, parents also have a role to play in teaching their kids morle and put parental control on all their gadgets. This will prevent children who are underage from abusing no KYC gambling platforms.

Exactly, if a child isn't old enough yet then what ever device they use should be on parental control because the simple truth is that if the site can't tell that the person visiting them is underage then how are they supposed to regulate their content to ensure that children aren't exposed to it, most children are given these gadgets for probably educational purposes but you will still find them going out from what they are supposed to do and instead doing things that weren't their original purpose.

A single hand cannot clean itself and produce the required level of cleanliness. Even if only one hand is unclean, you must scrub both hands together in order to wash them clean. The same is true for the issue of parental supervision and the prohibition of adult-related content on websites; both parties must play a part to prevent our society from being overrun with young people who are addicted to gambling.

It's clear that not all social media users advertise gambling. Perhaps social media itself advertises gambling. In any case, every advertisement has an author and a responsible distributor. It's also clear that any gambling advertisement leads to gambling addiction in some percentage of cases. Therefore, it's entirely logical to force those who advertise gambling to also fight gambling addiction. But the question here is what the state means by fighting gambling addiction. Advertising gambling addiction treatment centers? Some kind of state-sponsored programs? There are too many nuances here.

Exactly, if a child isn't old enough yet then what ever device they use should be on parental control because the simple truth is that if the site can't tell that the person visiting them is underage then how are they supposed to regulate their content to ensure that children aren't exposed to it, most children are given these gadgets for probably educational purposes but you will still find them going out from what they are supposed to do and instead doing things that weren't their original purpose.

Complete and utter fucking bullshit, not even 1% of children are being given these "gadgets" for "education purposes". They are being given so that they can infinitely entertain themselves in mind-destroying content so that the parents can fuck off and do whatever they want instead of spending their time, you know, actually parenting. Do not give excuses and bullshit about educational purposes, were that even remotely true then the competency of the last 2 generation of children would be higher than those before. Meanwhile they has fish-brains and the emotional maturities of toddlers, no ethics, no work discipline, they are completely meaningless individuals and they should not even exist -- for they solely make the world a worse place. Anyone who has tried hiring the youth for important or skilled jobs with any kind of strict quality control knows this, many of them can't even fucking do entry-level jobs such as being a waiter.

If you want to bring up children, then there is only 1 truth: No child should even have been given any kind of gadget before the ages of 12/13, and before 18/21 only under severe restrictions. Most parents do not have any technological competency to make this happen, let alone parenting skills to avoid giving their children access to dangerous addictive content of the internet. Furthermore, the previous users claims that websites have no way to tell who is watching the content is also bullshit. Whether through KYC, since most websites already employ some even if at times it is a shitty cheap system, or through fingerprinting it is absolutely possible to deduce in most cases whether someone is a child or not. Surely, children are watching lectures on quantum physics on YouTube and not that retard Mr. Beast. 

It is regrettable that this is what the world is turning into, and also that most people think this it cannot be controlled, no offence but this is the reality of today mostly because most part of the world now seems simple discipline as abuse, a child can't be punished for doing something wrong because everyone is talking about them having autonomy, if you are still living under your parents then you are absolutely supposed to still be living under their rules but tell that to the next freedom obsessed person out there snd they will claim that children have a right to whatever they want.
